First of all, I randomly picked a pool service on a Sunday afternoon since I have a open house on the weekend and my agent told me our spa didn't work normally and the pool was in a bad condition (not presentable to future home buyers) then I decided to give a try. At the beginning I thought most of the service provider will be off on the weekend and I have to left a voicemail. Guess what? Mr Walt picked up the phone and went over all the issues we have during the conversation. Surprisingly he took immediate action and came to our house on the same day! He checked the existing equipment and texted me all the details including all the parts we need to replace plus the labor associate with each item. He is very knowledgeable on what he is doing and he came to our house again on the next day to replaced all the broken parts. He took pictures and videos to send over to my cellphone so that I can confirm the pool is working perfectly after his service. Most important part is the price was very reasonable and I didn't even negotiate the invoice. Moreover, he addressed all the potential issues that our pool may have and provide the options to me. Since I will sell the property soon I don't want to spend that much money on "remodel" or "rebuild" the pool as long as it works properly. At the last, this is my first Yelp review I have ever wrote for any type of business in the past 9 years (I came to US in 2007 as FOB) and I feel grateful to share my story and experience with Walt Conklin Pool and Spa service with all other users. I am very disappointed with the whole business model. Most of the companies are not even attempting to help. I called a local guy and in 10 minutes identified the motor, order it and is coming back to do the work next week. The total cost was less than Approximately price for the motor only by the only one of your companies that gave me an estimate without coming over. I will never use Yelp again. They even filled in and smoothed over the excavated area with matching cement so it's now barely noticeable. I'm not sure if Walt provides quality service or not...we never got past our initial introduction. Probably one of the strangest conversations I've ever experienced with a professional. Seems like a nice enough guy but I'm thinking I may have dodged a bullet here. I recently bought a home and inherited a hot tub infected with yellow algae. Tub needs to be professionally drained, disinfected, shocked..yada, yada. I know nothing about this stuff so I called a professional (or so I thought). Based on Walt's reviews & the fact that 'Hot Tub Service' is in the heading I gave him a call. No joke. This was our conversation. I explained I needed service for my hot tub and asked if he could provide that. He said 'No, that's the responsibility of the homeowner'. HUH??? He then rambled on about me dropping weekly pellets into a floater and draining it from time to time. He was speaking to me as if I knew everything there was to know about servicing a hot tub!! Why on earth would I call HIM if I possessed such knowledge and expertise myself!!!! Honestly the strangest conversation I've ever had. It was like calling a window washer for service and they tell you to just get some Windex and start wiping!! I felt the inexplicable need to explain to Walt that I don't know how to do those things he is describing (which is why I called him) and after all that mumbo jumbo he finally says 'Well I don't service hot tubs.
