I am very disappointed with the whole business model. Most of the companies are not even attempting to help. I called a local guy and in 10 minutes identified the motor, order it and is coming back to do the work next week. The total cost was less than Approximately price for the motor only by the only one of your companies that gave me an estimate without coming over. I will never use Yelp again. Walt and his crew did a great job! They took out my old pool light junction box and replaced it, moving it to a new safer location before I even knew they started. They even filled in and smoothed over the excavated area with matching cement so it's now barely noticeable. I would highly recommend Hollywood Pools for any pool related services or repairs. read more

I give Walt and Hollywood Pools the highest recommendation! I appreciate his professionalism, expertise, and reliability. We installed an Endless Pool swim spa and his service was on point. He interfaced well with the city officials and other contractors involved. The quality of his work was excellent and his fees were a great value. read more

Walt has been servicing my new saltwater pool and spa for 3+ years now and I am extremely pleased. Most importantly, if you ever have an emergency situation (even on weekends), Walt always responds promptly to a text or a phone call and will carve time out of his day to come to your house and address the problem immediately. In addition, his prices are very reasonable. Do not hesitate to give Walt a call. Jim S. (Rolling Hills Estates) read more

Hollywood Pools - He was amazing and super helpful with my hot tub - Pool Cleaners Near Me

First of all, I randomly picked a pool service on a Sunday afternoon since I have a open house on the weekend and my agent told me our spa didn't work normally and the pool was in a bad condition (not presentable to future home buyers) then I decided to give a try. At the beginning I thought most of the service provider will be off on the weekend and I have to left a voicemail. Guess what? Mr Walt picked up the phone and went over all the issues we have during the conversation. Surprisingly he took immediate action and came to our house on the same day! He checked the existing equipment and texted me all the details including all the parts we need to replace plus the labor associate with each item. He is very knowledgeable on what he is doing and he came to our house again on the next day to replaced all the broken parts. He took pictures and videos to send over to my cellphone so that I can confirm the pool is working perfectly after his service. Most important part is the price was very reasonable and I didn't even negotiate the invoice. Moreover, he addressed all the potential issues that our pool may have and provide the options to me. Since I will sell the property soon I don't want to spend that much money on "remodel" or "rebuild" the pool as long as it works properly. At the last, this is my first Yelp review I have ever wrote for any type of business in the past 9 years (I came to US in 2007 as FOB) and I feel grateful to share my story and experience with Walt Conklin Pool and Spa service with all other users. Awesome job! read more

The 5 star reviews are real! Walt is consistently responsive and provides excellent service! I found him on yelp and he helped us do a start-up procedure to our new pool. He helped us make sure the equipment all worked and that the kids could safely use our new pool. He maintains our pool currently and we couldn't be happier! Thanks Walt and team!! read more

I'm not sure if Walt provides quality service or not...we never got past our initial introduction. Probably one of the strangest conversations I've ever experienced with a professional. Seems like a nice enough guy but I'm thinking I may have dodged a bullet here. I recently bought a home and inherited a hot tub infected with yellow algae. Tub needs to be professionally drained, disinfected, shocked..yada, yada. I know nothing about this stuff so I called a professional (or so I thought). Based on Walt's reviews & the fact that 'Hot Tub Service' is in the heading I gave him a call. No joke. This was our conversation. I explained I needed service for my hot tub and asked if he could provide that. He said 'No, that's the responsibility of the homeowner'. HUH??? He then rambled on about me dropping weekly pellets into a floater and draining it from time to time. He was speaking to me as if I knew everything there was to know about servicing a hot tub!! Why on earth would I call HIM if I possessed such knowledge and expertise myself!!!! Honestly the strangest conversation I've ever had. It was like calling a window washer for service and they tell you to just get some Windex and start wiping!! I felt the inexplicable need to explain to Walt that I don't know how to do those things he is describing (which is why I called him) and after all that mumbo jumbo he finally says 'Well I don't service hot tubs. I only do inground pools and spas that are attached to pools'. Just bananas. read more

Mr. Conklin is very knowledgable with pool cleaning service. He made some great recommendations and great estimates. I looked around town at a few other business until ultimately deciding to go with Mr. Conklin. I am very pleased that I did. We stayed on budget with our pool remodel and finished at the time he said we would. He was professional the entire time and kept the area clean. He is definitely going to continue to do our monthly pool service. Thank you for the awesome job! read more

We are new customers for weekly service. (Our last guy retired). We have been extremely pleased with Walt's weekly service over the past few months and Walt was extremely helpful with our pool heater problem. We called for help and he immediately took care of the issue. I could not be there for the service call, so Walt sent me texts keeping me updated with the status as they troubled shot the problem. When the job was complete, he sent a video of it working. Thanks, to Walt our guests were able to enjoy the spa. I highly recommend his services, he knows his pool equipment. read more

Walt is very good at pool equipment repair. When I had issues keeping my mother's pool running, he was there to fix it up. I appreciate that he got back with me quickly, takes pictures/videos of the completed jobs and is reasonable priced. Also he is in the South Bay. It's good to support local business! Go Walt!! read more

we used Walt this month to replace the motors on 2 of our pumps, Walt knows his stuff and was much easier to deal with than other pool service companies we have used in the past, 2 of the firms would not even call me back and we are past customers, his price was competitive and during the install he knew exactly what to do, and did not try to jerk us around with a bunch of mumbo jumbo, would definitely recommend Walt to other pool owners in the south bay. read more
