    Chicken fajitas
    Katherine R.

I saw the reviews for Sharky's and knew the reviews were average but I was happy to give it a try anyways. I love a margarita and some chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the reviews hold up true. I could cook up a tastier Mexican night at home rather than spending $130+ on an outing here. I tried a mango margarita and found it overly sweet (more than usual) so next, I switched it up and tried a spicy margarita and it was gross. I'm really not sure what they put in it, but it might've been the worst spicy margarita I have ever had. Onto the food, the chips and salsa were clearly poured out of a Tostitos jar from the grocery store which was disappointing. The guac was good though. Onto the meals, we tried the enchiladas which were pretty good with the pulled chicken, but the fajitas were pretty sad. There was really no taste and the chicken looked a bit rubbery to me. Other than that, the place itself was cute and we liked the atmosphere so it could be good for a stop in for a beer. Our server was very nice too. However, I just can't justify the price for the quality that we received.

The service was really bad. We ordered the starter nachos as an appetizer and they came out last after our meals were brought. We ordered enchiladas and they were probably the worst enchiladas I have ever had. The margarita was great though! Our drinks were brought out after our meals and they forgot multiple items we had ordered , we had to remind them to bring the items they forgot. On a high note the place was clean but not well managed. Overall I think it's just a restaurant for tourists. Definitely would NOT recommend people to come here.

Sharkys is a great place to grab a quick bite while you're in town. The drinks are strong and delicious and these are some of the most loaded nachos I've ever had. My only recommendation would be to add more jalapeños since we only got 1 or 2. There's always a sports game playing on the screen and if you're lucky enough to grab a seat by the window or outside there is a ton of people watching! Service is very friendly and quick as well.

    CHICKEN BACON RANCH QUESADILLA

Not a bad spot to eat! They had a wide selection of different quesadillas which I loved. I ended up choosing the bacon chicken ranch one and it was fabulous! The meat was perfectly seasoned and there was a great balance between ingredients. They also had a great selection of drink options (included a margarita flight that allowed you to try multiple flavors!) My only complaint was we were not allowed to sit outside, because they were understaffed. About 20 minutes after being seated and given drinks, another party came in which they allowed outside so that was a bit disappointing. But all in all would definitely recommend!

Service and atmosphere was nice as always. I ordered the bone in wings with the "hottest sauce" on the menu. Sauce was not hot/spicy at all. I asked for extra hot sauce to pour over which helped. This place is usually busy but had very few patrons; especially for a Saturday night.

Come here for some strong margaritas and cool Mexican vibe when in MV. The service is quick and it gets filled up fast. The margaritas are cool with the different sizes like the escorpion bowl which can be shared but daring enough to try by yourself. I had the classic margarita called the grandiose basically a larger sized margarita.

    Their hot sauce...hahahaha

Boy should I have looked at Yelp before coming here. This place is terrible. Here's why - the "homemade" salsa is pace picante, the queso comes out of a can like you get at a baseball game, the chips clearly came from a bag. That was just the starters. The Skinny Margarita had so much triple sec in it a kid could drink it and not know there was tequila in there. For our dinners, I had a chimichanga. It was pedestrian at best. I asked for hot salsa and I got three packets of Cholula. Don't get me wrong, I love Cholula, but shouldn't a Mexican restaurant that advertises their "homemade" salsa possibly try their hand at making hotter salsa?!?!? The funny thing was that my girlfriend ordered the fish tacos. Now please remember, we are in Martha's Vineyard. This whole Cape Cod area has unreal seafood so why would they use Gordon's Fish sticks??? Yup. Perfectly formed Gordon's Fish Sticks. At the end of the day I paid $104 dollars for the single worst Mexican Food experience I've ever had. Moral of the story is to read Yelp first. Ugh.

i heard a lot of hype, but unfortunately, was a little disappointed. full disclosure: we came during the "off season", but life out here appears to go on as usual, so we hoped it would be as great as everyone says. we stopped by for drinks and apps on a cold day to escape the rain and the place was pretty full for december, which was great. drinks are just standard pub drinks. nothing fancy or special. sticky glasses, the usual. i would definitely choose to go with beer next time instead of a scorpion bowl (what was i thinking) as it was just an underwhelming amount of alcohol with way too much juice. beer and a shot of whiskey would have been perfect. the food was where they really lost me - the menu boasts "house made pico de gallo" and "fresh guacamole", but based on taste and appearance alone, i would be willing to bet this was tostitos jar salsa, some sort of prepackaged guac (we think maybe sabra or holy guacamole) and the biggest offense of all? the ball park cheese they called "queso". listen, i am a reasonable woman. i give restaurants a lot of leeway before i criticize because i worked in food service for 15 years and i get it. i just don't think you should offer things you cannot execute the way you have advertised. my friends had nachos and enjoyed them - perhaps the grocery-store bought toppings were more enjoyable in that setting. i will give sharky's another try next time i am in the area - i am holding out hope that the hype is real!

Thanks to yelp, I stumbled upon the shuck shack... easy to mix so check out the photos! This place has a true New England feel, with great views for people watching and beautiful scenery of the water and boats. The environment is very lively and they have a selection of raw and cooked seafood. I took a seat at the few stools at the bar, ordered a drink, clams, and shrimp. The shrimp were large and delicious! I also liked option to order half or full dozen. The clams, to my surprise, were shucked right in front of me.. great touch but word of advice.. don't make my mistake. There is a RAW section and COOKED section on menu and yes to my surprise, I accidentally ordered calms from the raw menu.. never knew raw clams were a thing ::cringe:: and after one try- definitely not a win for me. However! This place is a must, a true Vineyard experience with friendly servers and great views!!

The clams I had were steamed to perfection and the shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp in them. Their prices overall are very, very reasonable. But what makes it so special is the atmosphere. A great value for your money.

Our waitress was attentive and friendly, always making sure our waters were full and we could have refills if we wanted. My friends ordered the tacos and I felt "when in Rome" and had the fried seafood plate which had fish, scallops, shrimp, and fries for $35. While I liked the restaurant overall this was not worth $35. My meal had three scallops and 2 of them were smaller and a little mushy. Then were were 4 shrimp that weren't bad. The fish was on the smaller end and tougher than I thought it would be. I understand it's Martha's vineyard and things are more expensive there but this was steep for the quality. My friends liked their tacos as well- they just mentioned that having a third taco instead of just the two would have been nice. I would recommend Sandbar though for anyone who wants a fun environment. I'd even go back- but I'd make sure to try something else.

Orders were taken by a friendly guy who had a take for the menu and what was good and was very user friendly. We ordered the drinks and then the food. A look at the menu, I found the prices were on the high side for my taste but we are in a tourist trap and cost are what they are. The atmosphere was beach like and I loved the mix of old beach stuff with a beer bar mash up, The drinks came and for the most part all were good except for me. I ordered a traditional Mojito. Having had plenty of good ones and lot of bad one's this one was on the bad side. Tasted store bought mix and repeat with too much mint. The strong mint flavor is a dead give a way that it was premade mix. Avoid it. You want to pay $17 for a glass of sugar water that has NO ALCOHOL in it. You have been warned. The food, well all were satisfied with it except for me. My niece and her husband enjoyed the lobster roll. It was market price I don't know what that cost but I knew it was out of my price range. My wife had the fish sandwich and she LOVE it. She said that is what a fish sandwich is supposed to be like. My son had the american burger and fries combo. He said it was average at best. That good for him. I had the clam chowder. What a let down. It looked homemade but the broth was watery. Flavor was average better than a can but slightly better. I had the clam chowder at another restaurant in Mystic that was 10/10 this was 4/10. In summary, Three stars could have been better in my book but the others felt it was above average drinks and food. Recommended Yes and you decide for yourself and shoot me a line on what you think.
