And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!

Review Visit: September 15th, 2013…read more Jersey accent not needed to order here. Out of nowhere, Jersey Mike's appeared in East Peoria. I only knew this because I got a flyer in the mail offering a free sandwich for the grand opening of Jersey Mike's. Matt got the same flyer in the mail, so I asked him if he wanted to check the place out. He agreed and we found an afternoon we were both free to redeem our free sandwiches. We got lucky as there wasn't a long wait for us to order our food. The coupon we had was for a free sandwich but we also grabbed some chips and soda to round out the meal. From what I remember, ordering a sub here is like any other sub shop. You pick out what sandwich you want from the menu and then you can customize it to your liking. Matt and I placed our ordered, waited for our food and took a seat outside. I grew up eating Subway in my late teens and early 20s so I am all too familiar with eating and ordering sub sandwiches. It wasn't until I started to travel that I realized that sub sandwiches have more to them than the mass-produced stuff they have at Subway. I've tried Head West, Firehouse Subs, Snarfs, and a few others. Once I tried these places, I haven't had Subway since. It's just my personal opinion but I feel these smaller chains do it better. Does Jersey Mike's do it better than Subway? Yes. Yes it does and then some. Jersey Mike's is easily in my Top 5 for places to get subs. Despite not remembering the specific sandwich I ordered, I do remember being amazed at the softness of the bread and the quality of everything smashed in that small crevice where the bread was split open. Each bite was full of flavor and everything tasted as if it were cooked fresh. It was with luck that I got another flyer in the mail. It was an offer that any money donated to the local firefighters earned you a free sandwich. I took the offer down there, threw some money in their firefighter tip jar and quickly scooped up my free sandwich. I remember being amazed at how good it was and that my first trip wasn't a fluke. If you like subs, you owe it to yourself to try Jersey Mike's (or one of the ones listed above). If you don't have one near you, I would encourage you to see what smaller sub shops are in your area and to try them out. Sometimes its a nice surprise when you try the stuff that isn't known nationwide.

I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh fruit. . The chicken came as ordered, plain, with a side of honey mustard. The fruit was also very fresh! Everything was very tasty! My friends ordered the tenderloin and unfortunately I can't remember my other friend's order. They did say the enjoyed the food and too home the extras to finish. I thought my server was wonderful. I am currently on a low salt diet and she did her best to accommodate my needs. After she found out the tenderloin only came breaded she checked to make sure that would be okay, which it wasn't, but helped me order something else. She also didn't charge me extra for the fruit since I was unable to have a side. The cafe was very busy, but not too noisy, except for maybe one person who was seated across from us. I cannot wait to return, I had an exceptional meal.

This place 520 has become our family breakfast on Saturday mornings when we visit. The place is always busy. Sometimes we gotta wait on a table but they usually move pretty quick. On thus trip I talked to the owner as I was paying and told him how good everything was and how far we drove and had to drive home. Oscar is his name and is a great guy. As I was paying he fiddled with the register and as he gave me my change he slipped me a gift card. I was kinda taken back a little and we talked a little more then I went back to the table to finish our coffee to get ready to leave. I got to say the staff here is spot on. Never did we want for anything. The food was great and coffee was delicious. So we pack up the kids and go out to the cars to transfer bags and luggage when I turn around and here comes Oscar the owner. Evidently I dropped the card he had given me. He came right out and we talked a little more to the point I feel we made new friends with each other. I totally recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Bring your kids and family and enjoy a great home style breakfast. It's great!

The Madison side is easier to spot since it has a larger sign, but when I visited those doors were under renovation. I walked around to the Fulton side, which does not have a big sign but is still open. Look for the glass double doors near the corner, then step inside. It feels like a small indoor walkway or hidden plaza. Once inside, stay along the left corridor and you will see a green fence on your right that marks the entrance to Cultured Grounds. The moment you step in, the space feels welcoming and calm. There are cozy couches, a colorful rug, and sunlight streaming down from the tower above that naturally brightens the room. It feels peaceful, inviting, and different from most downtown spots. They offer sandwiches and salads ready to go, along with a simple menu that includes my favorite avocado toast. It came with arugula, tomato, and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning that added great flavor. You can ask how you would like your toast or customize it a bit, which I thought was such a nice touch. I ordered an almond milk matcha and it was smooth and balanced. You can choose sweetened or unsweetened, and they also offer soy and dairy milk options. The seating setup is great with couches, high top tables, and regular tables near the counter. There is also a shared food court area near the other entrance if you want extra space. It was lively but not loud on a Tuesday morning, the kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy your drink without feeling rushed. The charm alone will bring me back, and next time I am buying one of those salads to go.
