And we highly recommend a visit, especially if you are familiar with the brand! Like the BloNo location there are at least two entrances - the one further west is for a good sized hosting/ordering/waiting area while the one closest to the ballpark has more direct access to the bar area, but is way more space-restricted and will likely be a traffic jam on game days. If you're looking for a table, both entrances open to the rest of the cool 'industrial chic' dining areas in the form of a large street-level open concept dining area and a good sized split-level (up 3-4 steps) back room - which despite having wide entrances that make it feel part of the larger space, likely can easily be cordoned-off for private functions. One visit in and the lady and I (plus our friend and former Ptown bartender) can say that the food was every bit the same top-quality, large portion, methodically cooked and creatively accented sandwiches and wraps, served in old school pie pans with red-white check paper liners, that we are used to. The weekend special shaved ribeye Cali burrito was particularly epic, cementing what seems to be the first of the 3 or 4 things that keep the crowds coming back. The second thing is the creativity and discernment applied to bar side - in the form of the beer menu, which is initially focused on bottles/cans since they just received the liquor license the day before our arrival. Despite this there was a good mix of 'domestics' and at least 20 quality craft options from 6 or 8 fantastic breweries representing a good variety of styles but leaning like those at the original location - that is, a few more IPAs and 'sweet sours'. They also maintain a thoughtful and inventive cocktail list and will NO DOUBT start building up the whiskey/bourbon collection in the coming weeks. Although having high quality and fairly compensated employees helps immensely, the last thing that really drives their business is something we often say three times - location... In this case, it's literally less than a block from home plate. Easy to find. Easy to love. We'll certainly be back!

Review Visit: September 5th, 2013…read more Potbelly leads to a full belly. Matt, Laura, Tim and I needed a place to go for dinner. I left it to the group to pick the place as I like to take a backseat to having to be the one who always picks. The group ended up picking Potbelly Sandwich Shop as we all hadn't been there before. This was perfect as it was also on my list of places to try out. I don't remember much from this visit but I will try and piece together what I do remember. There was something in the air as I was hungry but nothing at Potbelly ended up sounding like something I was craving. With that in mind, I did end up getting some chili, a bag of chips, and a soda for my meal. Not the entire full experience but since they do specialize in soups as well as other things, I think it counts as trying a place out. The chips were a national brand so those were as delicious as expected. The chili was your standard chili. A little better than normal but seeing as it was your basic chili without any special flavorings, it did it's job. If you look below, you will see a photo of Tim and I. In said photo, I look pissed or upset about something. Looks can be deceiving as this was not the case. Tim and I have known each other since pre-school and have butted heads a million times over the years. But when we butt heads, we do it in a comical way where its not serious. We get all huff-n-puff and argue with each other but it's more entertainment for us than actually arguing. I think maybe we've actually argued less than the number of fingers on our hand (figuring you have all your fingers). I decided to include it just as a fun glimpse at a side of my friendships that no one really gets to see. As for Potbelly, it's a nice place to eat. I would place it in the same class as Panera or Noodles and Company. An upscale subway, if you want to think of it like that. I've been wanting to go back as their menu does look appetizing and they have some sandwiches that are absolutely delicious looking. Funny enough, my sister and I almost came here for her birthday lunch but she ended up opting for Tequila's instead. Someday Potbelly, someday.

This place 520 has become our family breakfast on Saturday mornings when we visit. The place is always busy. Sometimes we gotta wait on a table but they usually move pretty quick. On thus trip I talked to the owner as I was paying and told him how good everything was and how far we drove and had to drive home. Oscar is his name and is a great guy. As I was paying he fiddled with the register and as he gave me my change he slipped me a gift card. I was kinda taken back a little and we talked a little more then I went back to the table to finish our coffee to get ready to leave. I got to say the staff here is spot on. Never did we want for anything. The food was great and coffee was delicious. So we pack up the kids and go out to the cars to transfer bags and luggage when I turn around and here comes Oscar the owner. Evidently I dropped the card he had given me. He came right out and we talked a little more to the point I feel we made new friends with each other. I totally recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Bring your kids and family and enjoy a great home style breakfast. It's great!

We had the West Coast Benedict which came on a bed of hash browns topped with over easy eggs, hollandaise, bacon, and avocado slices, plus a sweet cinnamon roll bread on the side. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also had the avocado toast without egg and loved the side of fresh fruit. It made for a quick, healthy, and satisfying breakfast. The coffee was good and the staff was friendly and attentive. The place feels welcoming and full of life with families laughing and staff greeting regulars. The space is clean with cozy country style decor and a laid back vibe. There are two entry points for lining up and plenty of parking. It is right next to a walking trail if you want a stroll after that delicious meal. Came for breakfast but the lunch and dinner menu looks worth coming back for.

The Madison side is easier to spot since it has a larger sign, but when I visited those doors were under renovation. I walked around to the Fulton side, which does not have a big sign but is still open. Look for the glass double doors near the corner, then step inside. It feels like a small indoor walkway or hidden plaza. Once inside, stay along the left corridor and you will see a green fence on your right that marks the entrance to Cultured Grounds. The moment you step in, the space feels welcoming and calm. There are cozy couches, a colorful rug, and sunlight streaming down from the tower above that naturally brightens the room. It feels peaceful, inviting, and different from most downtown spots. They offer sandwiches and salads ready to go, along with a simple menu that includes my favorite avocado toast. It came with arugula, tomato, and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning that added great flavor. You can ask how you would like your toast or customize it a bit, which I thought was such a nice touch. I ordered an almond milk matcha and it was smooth and balanced. You can choose sweetened or unsweetened, and they also offer soy and dairy milk options. The seating setup is great with couches, high top tables, and regular tables near the counter. There is also a shared food court area near the other entrance if you want extra space. It was lively but not loud on a Tuesday morning, the kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy your drink without feeling rushed. The charm alone will bring me back, and next time I am buying one of those salads to go.
