I go here at least twice a month to get my crawfish fixed. Their crawfish taste just like the ones…read morewe get in New Orleans. They also cook food they make poor boys, but I'm there just for crawfish. They're well seasoned and spicy the way I like it.

I hate to leave this review as this place has been my go to for crawfish for a long time now…read more However, yesterday (Mother's Day) my husband stopped in just before closing to get me (he doesn't eat them) some crawfish. He was greeted by the staff yelling "we're closed we're closed, we only have crawfish!" He asked them how many pounds they had left they sold him the remaining 3 pounds totaling $37.77. Soon as he walked in the door at home he handed them to me and I prepared to eat them. Once opening the plastic wrap I could smell a weird odor. It smelled like a fish/meat market and I told myself well it is a fish market. But honestly I've never in all the years smelled this smell when buying from them. I proceeded to open a few of them and the smell was stronger. When I brought the pan into the bedroom before I could even ask my husband if he smelled it he said OMG what's that smell. Confirmation. So I just called the restaurant to let them know and I wasn't necessarily wanting money I was more or so trying to warn them because spoiled seafood is very dangerous if consumed but the woman that answered the phone continued to cut me off, speak over me and while arguing that this can't be true she stated "there's no way, we cook thousands of pounds of crawfish a day" and yes they do however that doesn't mean that this batch or these last few did not spoil while sitting in the bottom of that bucket thing that they keep them in. All I needed was for this business to show some empathy and be appreciative just in case someone else ate them. I know my few dollars won't make or break the business but I unfortunately will not spend money with any company who does not care about the health and safety of their patrons. Again, it sucks because their crawfish to me was the best around but I'll go elsewhere. Stay safe everyone! Cooked crawfish shouldn't smell like spoiled raw fish

The food is so good! I'm talking about go for the soul good!…read moreDon't let it fool you when you walk in the door, they have pool tables, music, the food is delicious! Service was great also! Go ahead and stop and eat! I just wished I didn't live so far away! But I will be stopping by on my next visit to the area!

I finally pulled up to Yummies Cafe on a Thursday afternoon to check a box on my "must-visit" list…read more Supporting Black-owned spots is always the move, so I was looking forward to seeing how they got down. The space itself is actually a decent size--medium to large with enough seating to where you aren't fighting for real estate against the afternoon rush. It has a good flow to it, which I appreciated. I decided to deviate from the standard soul food lanes and went with the Caribbean Jerk Alfredo Combo, which comes with chicken and shrimp, plus some garlic bread on the side. Now, let's be clear: this is a soul food establishment, not a Caribbean kitchen, and that distinction was definitely present in the flavor profile. Everything was pretty tasty and the portions were solid, but it wasn't the best Jerk I've ever encountered. The sauce had some life to it, but if you're looking for that authentic island heat that makes you see colors, this isn't that. It's a soulful take on a fusion dish, and it does the job well enough for a mid-week craving. Overall, the vibes were straight and the food was good. It's a reliable spot to keep in the rotation when you want a heavy plate and want to keep your dollars in the community. I'll probably stick to the more traditional staples next time I slide through, but I walked out satisfied.

I was visiting Jonesboro on a Saturday and this place was recommended by the woman at the visitor…read morecenter. As it was only a short walk away, I decided to eat local. There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. The furniture was a bit worn and the dishes were plain white plastic but on the whole it was a lovely place. My server was pleasant and attentive.

Finally, made it to this restaurant. I would be back…read more Parking, plenty. This is rare that a brunch spot has so much parking. There is a huge open parking lot on W. Mill across the street. There is also street parking. Wait to be seated. Best to have a reservation during peak hours. Weekend brunch and evenings I imagine to be busy. QR code menu. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. Even though the drink menu says the days and hours for those prices, you have to ask for the after those hours. The menu has your typical southern brunch flare with a twist. The drink menu is good. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. Watermelon savage. I also tried the scrambled eggs - way too salty. It was inedible. My brunch partner didn't like the grits or chicken biscuit that it came with. Service was fine. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was decent. It seems like a nice place to grab drinks and catch a vibe or be the vibe. Gratuity is included. Overall, decent spot. Oh and there is outdoor seating that includes a stage.
