I took my 4-year-old daughter here for her first haircut, and it ended up being such a special experience for both of us. I chose this place because they offer mini manicures too, which definitely helped convince her and she absolutely loved everything about it. She had so much fun that when we got home, she wanted to play pretend and have me "get my hair cut." It was the cutest thing. I know this place is a bit pricier, but for us, it felt worth it. The $39 package (at the time we went) included a hair wash and conditioning, getting to pick her own station and show to watch, princess braids with clips, hair glitter, a blow dry, nail painting, and at the end she got a lollipop and a tattoo. We even got to take our receipt next door for a free small cookie, which was such a fun bonus. Cindy was amazing with her so patient, kind, and really made her feel comfortable the whole time. I also loved that the braids were included. Overall, such a fun and memorable first haircut experience. Review Update: I wanted to add pictures from the first time as well as this time for a better idea of why I was feeling upset about the first bang trim. I had to wait a while for my daughter's bangs to grow back before I could give Sharkey's a second chance. I'm happy I did though! Nina did the bang trim for my daughter this time and was so great with her. She sectioned and clipped her hair and gave me a good idea of how her hair would hang. It's perfect! Then, of course, my daughter insisted on having her nails done as well and they also look so great. Massive thank you to Nina for making sure my daughter walked out looking as cute as possible. We've been once before and it was a good experience, but came back this time and it was not a great experience for my daughter - the gal was very off-putting and sort of rude. She acted like my toddler should sit perfectly still and would sigh and get frustrated when she would move. The haircut itself was not great either, uneven, and a lot of unnecessary product in her hair leaving it greasy and crunchy. Nail polish was okay - nothing that the gal did wrong but it washes off in the bath or sink (just as it did last time) so it always seems to lead to an upset kiddo. I am visiting from out of state and took my 8 year old niece in for a birthday present to get her hair done with my sister. Christine was the hairdresser that took care of us. I will say my niece was happy with her hair cut, my sister and I were sorely disappointed in the service and professionalism. From trying to convince my niece to get her hair cut longer than her inspiration, talking about body image and making fat phobic comments, how to find a good man and homophobic undertones. My niece came in wanting a shaggy pixie cut and when she came back from the washbowl (alone with hairdresser) she had convinced her to go longer, she left with what is boarding on a mullet. My sister and I were standing near so she could "look at the reference picture" and proceeded to ask us how we knew each other, because "you never know". Proceeded to speak about other customers and family members who could possibly be queer presenting with negative connotations. Told an 8 year old girl that a man who will give you an allowance or a credit card with no limit is a good man and a keeper; and how she should "stay 95lbs" while talking about how she is taking weight loss pills while painting her nails. I have been in the beauty industry as a licensed professional for going on 6 years, this level of unprofessionalism in any setting is unacceptable especially around impressionable young children. I had to convince my sister to take the children out to the car as I paid for our service as to not cause a scene. My sister and my self will never support this location again and I don't think you should either. I'm absolutely furious and disgusted by this experience words cannot express. read more

Update: Christine fixed my son's hair and it looks much better. We will have to grow it back out since the original stylist took so much off. If you come here Christine or Nina are the best. We have a membership at Sharkeys and get my son's haircut every four weeks. He gets the same thing every time. I don't know what the hairdresser today was on, but this was absolutely not the same haircut and it looks horrendous. Like were you drunk at work or something? instead of taking length off the top like I told her to she just cut bangs but like too short I don't know what the heck this is. There is no hard part, no blending, just straight up bowl cut like this is her first day at beauty school. I'm absolutely disappointed and angry especially because we have the non refundable membership and usually get such a phenomenal haircut. This haircut is just completely unacceptable. read more

We came in for my daughter's first haircut and it was lovely! The lady who cut her hair was so kind, and very friendly. She did a nice job of working with my wiggly 3-year-old. The haircut itself was simple - just a trim and some face framing, and it was done well. The little cars and trains for the kids to sit in were adorable, and they had a movie playing to keep the kids entertained. The first haircut package was very cute and reasonably priced compared to other places! What a kids paradise this is! It's not just a haircut, it's a total fun experience for your kid. They were very busy and being on schedule, but every staff member was so friendly and made sure my daughter felt important. They have video games, awesome toys to purchase, and cute cars for kids to sit in while getting their cute. They also include a mini manicure for girls which was so cute! My daughter decided to cut her own hair with scissors so we had to find a place to do some damage control, and my hair has gone way down on my list of priorities since I've had kids so I thought I would look for a place who could cut both my daughters hair and mine in one go. I posted in a local community page looking for recommendations for someone who could cut our hair and one of the recommendations was for sharkeys. Our hairdresser was Rezi, and I just want to say she was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to ask both my daughter and I what she would like done for her hair and it was perfect, and she even took the time to braid my daughter hairs and add some glitter. I had some concerns with my hairline and while my daughter was getting her nails painted by another wonderful sharkeys employee she took the time to figure out a low maintenance way to completely cover my concern while also getting my split ends trimmed up. Not to mention the shop was so cool for kids! My daughter got her hair cut in a mini mouse car and got to watch paw patrol. They had some chairs with video games for some of the older kids and the place was clean and just perfectly set up for kids. We will definitely be repeat customers at sharkeys. read more

I stumbled upon this place on Google and was able to book online with ease. The shop is very welcoming and child-based so many different characters from Disney and beyond. I love how clean and vibrant this place is. The details from the chairs, to the walls, nail, hair offerings are so cheerful and perfect for kids. My daughter had a hard time with getting her curly, dry hair combed through but her stylist was a lifesaver and continued to get her hair done despite the many challenges of having to reassure her everything will be okay and it can be uncomfortable to get your hair combed out. We took my two-year-old grandson to Sharkeys today for a haircut. Lorena was the stylist who helped us and she was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was absolute perfection. My grandson was able to sit in a firetruck, watch Bluey on the TV and play with a bucket of toys during his haircut. Lorena was so patient and so gentle. After his haircut was over, he was so excited to get a balloon and a token for a free cookie from the cookie shop next-door.
