Amazing results every time I go!! Apparently, it doesn't matter who colors my hair here, I walk out loving it!! I started seeing Tracy about a year ago when I totally botched my hair using boxed dye. I turned my dark brown hair all shades of orange and red. Oops. I went in and she fixed it to a beautiful brunette with blonde highlights. Every touch-up was better than the last. This last appointment, Tracy was booked but I saw Samie and, once again, I couldn't be happier!! I especially love how the highlights were done this time to be different depending on where/how I part my hair. It even has a different appearance if I pull my hair back. I'm beyond happy with the service, friendliness, and quality at Dedign Me Salon...and here's the kicker...my husband loves my hair whenever I get it done, too...and he's a hard one to please when it comes to my hair!! read more

I came to Design Me Salon looking for a fix to my hair and I had the best experience. My hair had been dyed all sorts of colors and had a lasting red in it, and Jackie turned it around and made it look amazing and natural. I'm beyond disappointed. I asked for a balayage and root covering. I saw Jackie had good reviews on yelp app and went with her. When she washed my hair after "the balayage and root covering "and attempted to style it I saw a terrible job on my hair. I had to stop the service, to ask her politely why my hair didn't match my request, she darkened my hair instead of the balayage I asked. She NEVER apologized. She said she has done hair for 13 years INSTEAD. I asked her what about the grays? What about my dark non blonde balayage? What happened to my extensions that now you made darker instead of blonde ? She just stared at me stoically. I didn't feel understood nor heard. She even said to the receptionist: " it's ok I don't care if she doesn't want to pay " and left to the back room instead of showing concern and personal interest. Very rude of her. Worst experience ever. Will never go back to this salon. The receptionist was actually understanding, not the case with Jackie. Jackie was very unconcerned. Never had this experience before. Jackie has no clue of how to blow dry hair extensions either. She actually knocked out 2 beads from my hair extensions when attempting to blow dry them trying to COMB my hair with a round brush to blow dry it !‍ (never even put heat protectant before !) Needless to say I went home crying and with wet dripping hair. Still waiting for the manager to call me. read more

Caedence killed it! I went it to touch up my highlights and trim my hair. She was super attentive to my wants and concerns and was willing to adjust along the way. I love my hair. I'm new to Peoria and it has been a year since my last style cut. I'm older and needed advice for a new transition look. Tracy was so good with me. I'm ready to start embracing my gray & she talked me down a bit. Subtle highlights with no low lights or added color. I'm excited to see the transition. I also have curly frizzy hair. Tracy added a healthy collegine product to help with that. My new style compliments my face, is age appropriate without looking like every other woman my age, and it's easy. My hair looks great. I've been coming here for about 2 years. I usually make an appointment at the last minute due to my hectic work schedule and they always are able to get me in. Because of this, I've seen several different stylist, all of which have been fantastic! I look forward to getting my hair shampooed (who doesn't?!) because they give me a nice long, wonderful scalp massage in the process. Swoon!!!! If I go in the morning they offer fresh brewed coffee or tea and in the afternoons sometimes I sip on a complimentary glass of wine. Double swoon!! They are a bit on the pricey side, starting at $80 for all over color and since my hair is dark brown I've decided this service isn't worth it for me. They use the brand Goldwell for their color which does provide AMAZING results in highlights, especially reds which typically fade faster than other colors but Goldwell colors lasts a very long time. read more

I came to get my hair color done here for my wedding day, and the service was not at all what I asked for or expected. The stylist was incredibly rushed and did not take the time to get the color right to match my hair extensions. I voiced my concern before leaving the salon, and nothing was done to fix it. To make things worse, I've tried calling the owner three times now to ask for compensation due to the fact I had to pay to go get it redone by someone else two days before my wedding. He will not return my phone call and I have yet to hear back from anyone at the salon. I've been coming to design me for over a year, this time they lost a customer for life. After having to grow my hair for 6 months from a hack job I received from another stylist, I went in to Jackie to fix it. I've never had problems with my hair, although it's gotten a lot curlier post pardum. I was a bit nervous she wouldn't be able to fix the color, a brassy brown with bright blue accents, and cover my roots and restore me to awesome. But she did it. And I feel pretty again. It was a 3 hour service around $200. It felt like a lot but she was honest, worked with my budget and released my inner goddess. So I feel it was worth it!!!!!! read more

I moved to the west side a couple of years ago and have struggled to find a good salon at a reasonable price. I have now been to see Sarah twice for a haircut. I was really happy with the first cut but I'm always nervous about how it will grow out. It was great and I went back again last week. She trimmed off just the amount I asked for and is very precise with her scissors! I did not feel rushed (as I have experienced at other salons). Sarah really listens and is very pleasant. I have been following Candie around for some years now. I love her salon. I just wanted to share how much I appreciate her knowledge and expertise in hair care. For a year I walked around with my head itching and my hair falling out. . I thought it was due to my being hot and sweating. I tried different things on my own. I changed the shampoo and conditioner multiple times. I tried changing how often I washed my hair. I even changed my pillow. Over a period of time, nothing seemed to help. I went in to see my favorite salon professional. She looked at my scalp and saw nothing unusual. After consulting with Candie she suggested I use a product that requires 3 products. One - shampoo Two - conditioner Three - serum I have been using it for 3 weeks. My hair quit falling out and I don't have an itchy scalp. Everything that was troubling my daily hair care is no more. I can't believe it!!! I was skeptical to use VOLUMIQUE. I have to mention that my hair seems thicker, too. My daughter didn't know that I purchased it. Candie has been cutting and coloring my hair for a while now. I can honestly say that her cuts are the best that I've ever had. Usually, when I get my hair cut, I spend a few days wrestling with it afterwards to get it in place. With Candie, my style falls beautifully into place right away. I've noticed over the years that it can be hard to get someone that is good at both the cut and color. Many times, the stylist is better at one part. However, Candie is great at color too! She really listens to what you want and will nail it the first time. The salon is nice. All the girls are friendly and it's a classy environment but not snobby or expensive. I like the line of products that they carry, especially one called Pai Shau (shampoo, conditioners, etc.) which is a natural, exotic tea blend, based on an ancient Vietnamese bathing ritual that is still practiced today. Cool, huh? It has a great fragrance and a little bit goes a long way, so it's economical. I'd highly recommend anyone in this salon because Candie is the owner and I know she's very discerning about quality work and surrounding herself with caring people. read more

The owner was friendly when I began going to the salon last spring but after her hair extensions she became a different person. I noticed the salon has a high turnover rate too, different people each time I went back for my cut and color. I stayed because they had a fantastic hair stylist Nikki but she "left" is what I was told on my message a week before my scheduled appt. I happen to know she was gone for a full week prior to receiving my message. How shady that you didn't make calling all her upcoming clients the day she was gone to give us an option to switch stylists or find another salon. Lucky for me with social media I have found my favorite stylist Nikki Foss at Salon Surreal and can continue to get an awesome cut and color. read more

She did an icy/ashy blonde balayage, followed with Olaplex and trimmed my long bob. My hair now looks natural, healthy and has so much bounce. Came here for the first time this week; the atmosphere is great, plenty of depth. The Chairs are comfortable and the stylists have a spacious workspace. You don't feel crammed against a wall. My hair was done by Jacklyn. She did a great job and really listened to my requests. I have long thick hair and I'm picky about who handles it. From shampoo to cut to style I had a great visit. I'd recommend Jacklyn to anyone she was professional, friendly, and gentle. Definitely coming back soon! read more

I had been going here for at least a year and I really wanted to love the place. However, The stylist I had "appeared" to listen to what I want, but never really delivered. How many times do I need to ask for layers and show pictures only to leave with what the stylist wanted and not what I asked for? The lack of consistency got really tiresome so I found a better salon, in which the stylist there noticed that my hair had no shape. She did phenomenal and fixed it to my liking so I will be going there from now on! Design Me Salon gets 3 stars for an ok color job, friendly people, nice atmosphere.....but really need to deliver what customers want, not what the stylist "envisions". Also, there's no consistency in pricing...they charged more for someone else I know than they did for me with the same length hair? Glad I've moved on.... read more

I've been growing my grey out for what seems like forever and hating every minute of it. I was almost to the point of giving up and having it colored again... but then I met Carly. She is absolutely amazing, and I left the salon not only loving my grey hair but loving life in general. She blended my greys with a phenomenal balayage, did a Brazilian blowout, gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life, explained everything along the way, AND gave me some awesome tips for styling. *The 3 star rating has nothing to do with my stylist, Zoey - she was amazing! This is a very nice, quiet salon in a great area. I love my hair and think it looks great...however the prices were very high. I purchased a Yelp deal for $150 worth of services, and let's just say that it didn't cover lowlights with a TRIM (not a haircut and style). On Design Me's website, the pricing states that haircuts start at $40 for women, and mine was more than that - for a trim. Now, I understand that a haircut and a trim are the same thing, but why would they charge over $40 for a basic trim? I didn't really understand that. All in all, I loved my stylist but unfortunately won't be returning to this salon. read more

My son needs his brows trimmed every few months and we always are able to take him to this place with no appointment or wait time. We have done this now 4 times in the past year and am always blown away. I figured that is worthy of a 5 start review. It was so clean and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I have thick, curly hair so it's hard for me to find stylists who can cut and style my hair well. Sue Ellen did an amazing job!
