Wanted me to change my review due to partial return of money but my hair remains ruined from over processing my hair by using too high volume developer plus leaving it on too long by a professional hair stylist SHOCKING. My hair is left like straw, damaged which I had let grow out and now ruined and she kept commenting on how much product she used worrying about another customer who didn't even have an appointment she left my product on to go see her. I just moved here from Oregon and needed to get a perm, and was very apprehensive because I have very fine hair and the person who did my last perm fried my hair with a bad haircut to boot. It hard to find a hair salon that does perms anymore so when I went into Absolute Salon to inquire about getting a perm I spoke with Meiko, who was at the front desk and she said she did perms and I booked an appointment - and I'm glad I did. Meiko was fantastic, she really listened to my concerns and past issues. I got a great perm and haircut and enjoyed Meiko's warm and friendly demeanor. And the salon is very calm, peaceful and quiet. Made a hair appointment and waited two weeks to get in. When I arrived for my 11 o'clock appointment I was told that there was a customer before me waiting for a colour which hadn't been applied yet and "it would be more like 11:15, no more like 11:30". When I stated that my appointment was for 11 I was told that I was mistaken that my appointment was really for 11:30. I'm not an idiot and I don't have dementia, I was told my appointment was for 11 when I called and made it, put it directly in my calendar when I called. Don't like dealing with dishonest businesses, if you took someone in last minute then be truthful about it don't try to make your customer feel like it was their mistake. Recommend you go somewhere else, they would probably appreciate it as every time I called for an appointment the first thing they would say is"you know we are really busy..." read more

My Grandma is 80 years old and is getting more and more insecure and unsure in general, but especially about her appearance. She gets her hair cut by a family friend at home (Ontario, Canada) who (even my Grandma admits) doesn't do a good job. My Grandpa encouraged her to try a professional cut because he knew that the current cut wasn't making her look or feel her best. I decided to join her at her appointment to help reassure her. We were walk ins and waited 10-15 minutes (not long anyways). As we waited, we looked through pictures. The pictures were barely needed though because Gina knew exactly what to do. Grandma came out with a fabulous cut that she and the whole family were pleased with. I was so impressed by the service that I decided to get my hair cut too. I went in on Saturday and booked an appointment for Tuesday. I went to the appointment and Gina was immediately ready for me. It was a simple cut, trimming and reshaping layers. She asked me what I wanted done, we discussed it and agreed. Then she shampooed and conditioned my hair, sat me in the chair, and started cutting. Gina works quick so if you're looking for half an hour to chat with your stylist, this is not the place. She was very sociable, even remembering details about my family, the fact that I was Canadian and on vacation, and asking me about work, school etc. Prices are the best I've ever seen for a salon. I was sure to leave a tip. Overall, this was a great experience. If helping to restore my Grandma's self-confidence wasn't enough, she also gave me a great cut that is both functional and fashionable. When I come back to SCW, I am definitely rebooking here and only here! read more

First time I have ever left a negative review on a stylist or Beauty Salon. I have had some bad experiences over the years but never really felt that someone gave me bad service intentionally until today. I had an appt. 2 days ago at this shop with the same stylist. She was running late and I was told by reception that she could start on my service 15 minutes later than my appt. This is fine but I did remark that I had a Dr. appt. and had to leave at 3. Normally one hour for a simple trim on the back of my hair would be adequate without rushing. So went back 15 minutes later and sat another ten minutes and it became apparent that my hair cut would have to be rushed if I didn't change it to another time. Because the stylist was still working on her last client and still cutting it. So changed it and left. So today I went at the appointed time. Right away the stylist started telling me how it wasn't her fault that she couldn't do my hair when I left. But she didn't just say that in a nice manor and stop. She had a nasty attitude unlike the other times I had her do my hair raising her voice to me. She told me in a loud voice 4 different times that it wasn't her fault they booked her too close. I tried to explain to her I had a Dr. appt. and couldn't wait on Tuesday. Eventually she was making me feel defensive I finally said I don't usually frequent shops that do that. That was apparently my mistake. I broke some unwritten rule about complaining. I wish I had walked out then. I explained my hair was a little longer in back than I wanted. She apparently took this as criticism of her last cut (which you never do). So I told her not to cut my bangs and that the rest of it really wasn't too long. You know you can tell when a stylist is not in a good mood. But I have only been to this shop 3 times and for haircuts and another for color with this stylist. She wasn't overly friendly before but not rude. The top and down from crown to bangs is so short she had to have cut off an 1 1/2" off my already short hair. The back is actually mostly okay. But she should know from previous cuts that I don't want spiked hair. I like to use the curling brush and blow it dry. Now it has spots that it won't even lay down with hair paste. I think she did this on purpose because I dared to complain. So I guess the bottom line is you should know better than to trust a middle aged women with turquoise hair to cut your hair. You would be better off going to Super cuts. Can't believe I gave her a 20% tip. Then I got home and looked in the mirror. They don't have to worry about me inconveniencing then again. read more

I went in and had Deb trim/cut my hair. I'd had it cut last spring in MN and now that we've moved down here, it really needed a good trim and shaping. Deb is fantastic! She took the time to figure out that I didn't want a pixie cut again and would be growing it out to a short bob. Plus, she is excellent with collicks (sp). Thanks, Deb.
