We stopped by here on a weekday and, despite there being three workers and no customers, they said they do not do walk-ins and were booked up. Since I did not have an appointment, I did leave and make one online to come back a different day. I chose the first appointment of the day and came in about ten mins before our appointment. The experience itself was nice. My son loved sitting in the car, watching Bluey, and getting his haircut. The even styled it with punk gel, which he thought was the best thing. However, I did have to ask to get his neck edging fixed and then it went too short, so she continued to even it out. When he took a bath later, we saw how very uneven his bangs were. This is a picture at least a week after it's grown out. For the price we paid for the experience the haircut isn't it. read more

First time there and we walked in to toys and trash all over the floor. We had to literally step over them to get to reception. The receptionist informed me that my stylist wasn't back yet, although it was the time of our appointment. Five minutes later, her and another stylist strolled in casually. (Strolled as in tiptoed through the mess in the foyer) She told the receptionist to clock her in. We were then taken to a chair, where we sat for 5+ minutes, no stylist in sight. The stylist in the next chair kept assuring me she was coming. When we were ten minutes past our appointment time we decided to leave. The whole place was filthy, the workers seemed to have zero pride or urgency in their work. Over all, completely appalling. If she had been working on another client, I would have been understanding. Coming in late from her lunch break and then having no regard for her client waiting...no. Especially with the overall vibe and filth. I took my sons for haircuts for back to school. I talked to the stylist and said: do not fight with his part or his cowlicks. She put his part on the wrong side but styled it in a way that looked ok when we left. As soon as the gel wore off, we saw how bad the haircut was. My son was crying and so upset about the way he looked that he didn't want to start school next week. We didn't want to return to Sharkey's and instead went to another place to fix it immediately. We payed $28 for this (plus tip). The hair stylist (at another salon) who fixed this for us said it was the worst professional haircut she has ever seen. The worst customer service experience, the lady in the front need to be trained well, went to the salon to make an appointment for my 9 months old first hair cut, she got me the 3:15 spot, went to the salon on time with the baby, she said I have to wait as many kids in-front of us, we waited for 20 minutes, then she said another kid is before you, I told her how long we need to wait so I can take the baby for a spin she said I will call you once your turn will come which is around 4 pm, she didn't call, and when I called her back on 4:10, she said I didnt shift your appointment to 4 because we are so busy and I can make new schedule for you. We give everyone several chances because everyone can have a bad day. Third times a charm. We set an appointment for a time, and we can handle being late. That comes with the territory as they primarily deal with children, but for the third time, people who walked in well after us were being seen first. This isn't like we were there for two minutes either. This was 15 minutes after appointment, a walk-in would set up and their kid would get their hair cut. Three times this has happened so after another twenty minutes we left, and said we'll use another barber. Too many great hair places in Katy for kids to waste time here. Shame. read more

HORRIBLE experience. We booked back-to-back appointments for our sons online at 12 and 12:30. When we arrived, the front desk girl didn't even look at us or greet us or anything and just typed on her computer. We waited a while and finally just said, "we're checking in for our appointment" and that's how we had to get started. At this point, she informs us that they booked another kid with the same stylist at 12:15 so our kids would not be back-to-back. Apparently this other family had booked over the phone instead of online. So now our stylist is expected to cut 3 kids' hair in 30-45 mins. We ended up staying and they were so backed up that my first son didn't get called up for his 12 o'clock appointment until 12:34. The front desk girl just sat on her phone the entire time, ignoring customers and we felt like it was an inconvenience to ask her what was taking so long. She was a larger girl with glasses, grey sweatpants, and a snoop dog t-shirt. read more

First time here and it was pretty awesome. My son's 5.5 and autistic, but for the most part does pretty good sitting and letting people cut is hair. So when we arrived I called and let them know we were there, they let me know that they'd call me to let me know when Marta was available. We only had to wait a couple minutes and then was waved in. They had us use hand sanitizer when we entered and then let us choose between the car seats or the regular chairs that have either Netflix or games to play. He sat down, Marta asked me what we were thinking and she got to work. Was about 15-20 minutes and we were done, got checked out and he got a sucker and balloon. The location is great, we just get groceries and then a haircut done on weekends. This was my daughter's first haircut, so we decided to take her and her cousin in for something special while they were in town for her birthday. It is very cute and they have thought of everything a child might want for a great experience, however, it seemed very chaotic and over-booked during our visit. It was a Sat at 4:30, so maybe that was part of the problem. We arrived about 20 mins early. After about 10 mins, they told my niece they could take her and had her sit for 10-15 mins in a Frozen car, before we had to ask for someone to come do her hair. It was all mixed up and the hairdresser she was supposed to have was working on someone else, because they thought they weren't coming and then came in late. Then they told the next girl who took my niece she had another client in the middle of the job. Neither of the girls received a wash, as stated in the package. We had to remind our hairdresser (who was very nice) to take the picture she was supposed to get. Then, both girls were told ALL DONE and we had to ask about the "mini-cure" they were supposed to get, The response was, "Oh, you want that?" Also, my daughter was bummed bc her TV monitor was not functioning and the poor hairdresser just had to keep fiddling with it the whole time. My niece was getting impatient and nervous from all the waiting, when she was forgotten about. My daughter all in all did have a great experience and they both like their sparkle hair, nails and butterfly clips in braids. It did make them feel special. The staff was very nice, but like I said, unorganized. Also, I'm not sure where the ratings go, but I don't like to be given a screen and asked to rate the business in front of the employee at the end. I declined. I hope I didn't spoil my daughter from a regular haircut, because I am not sure if we will be back or not. Maybe for a special occasion. read more

Took our boys, 3 and 5, here for the first time. It's pricey ($20 for toddlers and $22 for bigger kids), but they did a great job. Amy was the stylist who did both of the haircuts, and she was friendly, personable, sweet to the kids, and their hair looks great! She was very thorough and meticulous. I've taken my kids to several places before, and I really think this was the best place they've been in regards to kid friendly, quality of haircut, and friendliness of the staff. I set my sons apt 2 weeks prior to this next apt ( we had very important events the weekend of) when I park and call to check in , the receptionist says she can't find the apt and once she does says that the hair stylist for my son doesn't work there anymore. Why couldn't they have called me ? I had to find out the day off as I am parked there ? Anyways I asked if they can fit him in seeing that it wasn't my mistake. Said she yes be here at 5. I get there and once again tells me she doesn't have anything set, I told her we had just spoke on the phone and she just said "oh yes, we'll I have nothing you can try again in maybe another 30" really?? I' got there at 4:20! Wasted my time completely and didn't even try to make it any better just a.. " too bad". Horrible read more

Martha started cutting my son's hair at 1 year old, and he wouldn't keep his head still, but she did a great job despite his squirminess. He's 21 months now, and she still does a great job! If I could give them a 0 star rating I would have. This is the third time I have gone to this location. I keep wanting it to be a good fit because it's so cute and perfect for kids. But every time the haircut is messed up. My son is very very good while getting his haircut. Follows directions and sits still, yet every time they have messed his haircut up horribly. So I made a big deal and was like the last thing I want if for his hair to be too short because he has his first ever school pictures tomorrow..... I only want a 1/2 inch taken off. Fast forward 15 minutes later and the hair just keeps getting shorted by the second. We left with 2 inches gone instead of a 1/2 inch. And that in its self isn't even a good haircut. I had to go home and try and fix it myself. I just stopped the hairstylist at one pint and was just like "we're done". Then afterwards when you are checking out you are allowed to give a review and they literally tried to prevent me from giving a review and were extremely rude.
