Gentleman in the patio who was very drunk. Apparently wasn't getting the proper attention from the ladies on the patio. Goes to his car after knocking over bottles at the table. This place does not except service animals whatsoever so if you have a guide dog or any other kind of service animal, you are not welcome. The dog is not welcome in which is clearly a violation of the law, but they don't care they kick you out anyway. the Employee I spoke with was rude and unwilling to give name or contact information of management or owner. read more

**warning! Long detailed tale of our first visit to the shark bar!** Well, a friend and I were both had no kids with us for the first time in 3 years, so we needed something to do after a late night movie on Friday 5-18-18. The Shark Bar is a convenient 10 min drive from where I live. Upon arrival, the parking lot is PACKED; but we took a chance on it anyway. The demographics for this bar was very apparent: the "ghetto" types. At the door, we already felt out of place and way over dressed (jeans and tshirts). The nice Asian woman at the door taking IDs let us know that the cover charge was $5 until 11pm and $10 after that. It was already after 11pm, but let us in for $5. Okay, cool. We walk in the rap music is booming and we immediately seeked out the bar. We found an empty spot at the far right side of the bar and stood there, waiting for service. The young woman behind the bar was busy making drinking, she didn't even acknowledge our presence when we walked up. We watched her serve group after group and still hadn't looked at us. We were standing there for a good 20 mins without even a hello. So, we decided we needed to be more forceful and learned that you're only visible when you get between the gold bars on the bar top. My friend orders us 2 sex on the beach. She was not shy about the alcohol. The drink was so ridiculously strong. Side note: Now, what's the point of using the jigger if you're gonna over pour anyway? $15 for these two drinks. Still no interaction from her. We then go walk around to scope out the place. There are several pool tables around. We had no change to play. The further back you go, the more and more it smelled of marijuana. We stood around and talked and people watched. I felt like we were the only two mexican girls there. The crowd is not very diverse. To me, the music was AWFUL. I didn't know any of the songs, but that probably because I don't care for rap music. So, we sucked down our first drink and went to the bar for another. We were told by an older woman that a drink called Sexy Bitch are really good. So, we went to the middle of the long bar to another female bartender. It took awhile and if you're not forceful, people WILL cut in front of you. This bartender did see us and did communicate that we would be next. We asked for the sexy bitch. She didn't know what it was. She said people kept asking for it, but she didn't know what it was and even asked us what was in it. She suggested a Jolly Rancher. We got 2 of those, one Apple and one watermelon. Hello alcohol! There was very little flavor, all alcohol. I sucked it down as fast as I could, couldn't waste alcohol but it was flavorless. Toward closing, the music was deafening. So loud. After dancing for a bit, we went for one last drink. At this point it was last call and they were serving only beer and shots. We got a shot of fireball each. Well, we paid for a shot, but we got double shots. Being the lightweight I am, and after all those drinks, I was good and toasted. Outside, there was a taco guy. 3 tacos for $5. Smelled Ah-mazing. But $40 worth of drinks later, we went for the more economical jack in the box lol SO! To sum it up, the service sucked, the music sucked, the drinks sucked, the people were not very friendly...so not our scene. We will only come back if our exploration of the city's other bars prove fruitless. read more

I went to the Shark Bar last night with my bf and was sitting in the back next to the pool tables. I saw a man walk up to the table so I immediately grabbed my drink. Before I took a sip I noticed bubbles in it and realized there was a some kind of pill in the bottom of my cup. I took it to the bar and the Asian bartender immediately threw it away and asked me what I was drinking as if she was going to make me a new drink. She makes my drink then tells me the bar manager told her I would have to pay for the new drink. I'm confused as to why she never showed the bar manager the roofie in my cup. Needless to say I will never step foot in that ratchet, ghetto place again and I will be filing a police report and taking this as far as possible. read more

So on Saturday I went to visit this bar with my boyfriend and some friends, it was my first time visiting this establishment. As my friend and I were walking to the entrance a male Hispanic security guard pushed and told me 10.00$ . Listen, the 10.00$ wasn't the problem! The problem was that he pushed me, and why did he think he had the right to put his hand on me. Could he have no just used his words ? Very unprofessional! This is a decent dive bar. Don't expect anything too posh. It don't look real classy once you get inside, but if you're just looking to hang out, it can be a great time. DJ plays good music (if you're into hip hop). The bartenders are really nice. Lots of TVs showing sports. Affordable prices for drinks and cover. The crowd is pretty chill...never seen any real drama like some other places. Just a laid-back scene with regular folks. I read a lotta reviews calling the Shark Bar "ghetto." I guess they noticed the bar has a lotta black clientele. Yes, if you don't like black folks, you probably should stay away...A lot of the crowd is black, which I love. But, of course, it's Southern Cali, so there's whites and latinos in there too... As far as the women, they run the gamut: from ole, overweight grannies to super-fine foxes and everything in between. So I have been to this bar a few times now because of the convenience of the location. I will not recommend this place nor am I going to come back here. All the pool tables were being used and I had come in earlier to play, but it was played by the same people for hours. The music was decent, but DJ refused to add any of the songs requested. Now they did have some decent taco stand. It wasn't over priced. Now the alcohol was over priced and it was way too packed and I wouldn't say ghetto, but the security was not enforcing standards. This place is literally a hole in the wall but sometimes those are the best places to hang out. As soon as my friends and I walked in we could feel all eyes on us. I have to admit it was really uncomfortable at first but we later found out it's because everyone there is a regular and well we weren't. But it didn't take long for people to start talking to us and it quickly made us feel welcome. The bartenders are awesome....be ready for some strong drinks! This place use to be bahama mommas good african american culture and vibes music and food. But all races came together here. But now its shark bar the crowd, vibe and energy is gone. Sunday morning/afternoon football is amazing here. Never seen a sports bar with so many different teams being represented and everyone getting along and respecting one another. Went on friday there was a decent a crowd. Seemed to be an older crowd but nonetheless friendly people. Had a male bartender working who did an awesome job. Drinks are cheap and strong which is a plus. I wouldve given it a three but i had an incident with a female bartender who accicdentally didnt give me the right change. I had left out right afterwards then came back. I got to speak to the manager who was super nice and let me back in to talk to her. Baby Mama's is a cool place to hang out at if you have nothing else better to do. I like it because I know everybody in there it's like a big high school reunion. I love this place been going here for many years. The regulars come in all shape & sizes, colors, etc. But everyone just comes to have fun. The dj plays a gd mix of old school, hip hop, & current pop.
