No where else around here does the owner greet you personally. The food and salad bar are excellent! I will make this establishment a featured destination for me. If you haven't been here yet you're really missing a great restaurant and Bar

This review is long overdue. To start, having to walk past…read morebroken lighting and electrical the parking lot near the handicapped parking spot right up front should have tipped us off as to how the owner runs this place. The building itself is in disrepair, starting with the peeling paint and rotted wood on the deck. The floors inside are very soft and uneven so watch how you walk. The owner / hostess is living in some type of delusional world where she thinks she is running some type of high end 5 star restaurant !! She makes people wait at the door while she walks people to their table and explains how this is her place and tries her hand at being entertaining the whole while others are waiting to be seated. ( I know this because I am disabled and after standing there for 6 or 7 minutes with empty tables everywhere, I decided to sit down and had her tell me " it doesn't work like that around here and I would have to get up and get back in line and have her seat me " (TOLD HER THAT WAS NOT GOING TO EVER HAPPEN ) No one else is allowed to seat or cash anyone out so there is a nice little bottleneck of people standing around in the middle of the dining room right next to people at their tables and others trying to get to the soup /salad bar . Total chaos and bad decisions on both the customers part that decide to stay for this and the crazy owner who feels so good about herself that she needs to have her 8x10 glossy photo right next to the cash register !! I mean once I started paying attention to what was going on, it was quite comical. You think so highly of yourself that you feel your customers time is of no matter ? Not to mention, that they should be blessed to stand in line for no reason to have ONLY YOU seat them !!??? Those poor waitresses... you could tell they were embarrassed they were by how many times they apologized for not being able to cash them out and for having to wait for her when they could see her smiling and chatting away while they foolishly stood there. Now , about the food. No matter what the criticism, you will be told that it is award winning! Like we are too stupid to know when your ranch dressing is watered down or when you try the soup and there is nothing in the pot but a lot of broth and barely any meat or vegetables. And I swear that when I got a piece of the berry cake from the desserts cart home and opened the to go container it was 1/2 the size of the slices I saw there. I think that the only reason she is still in business is because THERE REALLY ISN'T ANYWHERE ELSE TO GO !! If even a few people read this and decide to drive a little further for dinner somewhere else.... I saved them their hard earned $ money $ Stephanie, get your shit together. And stop with all the excuses Ps..... we tipped our waitress well that night for having to deal with this woman's overinflated ego

Soup AND Salad WITH Bread, in addition to your meal ... in one word, YUM!…read more Upon entry, we felt like we were stepping into a different dimension and simpler times. Candlelit tables and dim sconces on the walls provided a warm, inviting vibe. Surprisingly, the server who greeted us knew us by name and warmly welcomed us to the National Hotel. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and had a great sense of humor. The meal was coursed out perfectly and we enjoyed every bite. Stuffed mushrooms to start were piping hot and flavorful in a ramekin of butter. The hottest thing in Cuylerville was the freshly baked bread-in-a-bag! Perfect to get every morsel of mushroom soup out of our bowls. Usually you have to choose between soup OR salad, not here! We got a fresh greens garden salad following the soup! Our main entrées of steak were perfectly cooked to temp and tasted great with the red wine. The mashed potatoes were fluffy, flavorful and satisfying. Peanut butter and chocolate pie brought our experience to a close. To wrap up the evening, we got to thank the chef and her husband for an amazing dining experience. This is one of a kind gem and we look forward to our next visit. Bring a loved one, go for a special date night or just stop in to treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.
