She told me how to keep my bouquet intact till i was able to drop it off to her to freeze dry. Not worth it at all. I spent about $500 and the preserved bouquet looks nothing like the bouquet I walked down the aisle with 7 years ago. My bouquet was a mix of cream and pink colored roses but all the flowers turned antique yellow just after a few months of getting them preserved. I am so disappointed and do not recommend anyone using this service if your bouquet has light colored florals. Service was excellent, though. read more

Beware! I am so disappointed of spending hundreds of dollars for a glass container and dried flower that does not look like the original bouquet. First, the owner is a nice lady and she was so welcoming. I received my bouquet almost 10 days later than promised date, but that was not the big issue. At first the bouquet was looking great and I was so happy that I paid for dry freezing it. Unfortunately the color started fading since first month and after 3 month half of the color was gone and after 6 month there was no color left on the flowers (they were pink, purple, white now they are all yellow). If you are considering this shop you should know that you are spending near $500 on a glass container that you can buy it under 20 bucks anywhere. If you don't care then you are welcome to waste your money. The issue is that most people write review right after they receive their bouquet. I was mislead by the same 5 star reviews that you see here as well. read more

Love love love!!! So glad I found this place.I have always dried my flowers on my own so I already knew I would do the same with my wedding bouquet. Only thing was, after displaying my dried flowers on my shelf in the past, they would eventually get dusty and dead looking. I googled bouquet display case and Shanel's Flowers and Frames came up. When I came to the shop, Melanie was there to assist me. I did call first to see when the best time would be for me to come by on that Saturday. Make sure to call in case she has to leave early for the day. She was very sweet and helpful. Since I had already hang dried my bouquet at home, Melanie did not charge me $150 for the freeze drying, but she still put it in the freezer for an additional two weeks to make sure all the moisture was gone at no charge which was nice. I do think however, that if my bouquet was freeze dried professionally from the start, it would look even better than it does. I just did not know anything like that existed. After going through the different display options with me, I decided on the dome display case, and you can get the base in the color of your choice. I decided to have it white. Melanie told me it would take about a month because she would need to order the dome, which comes in different sizes depending on your bouquet. Mine cost $200, which may sound pricey, but if you really want to treasure your wedding bouquet for a lifetime, then it is really worth it. I was so anxious for my bouquet so I called to check on the status a week before the month was up. Melanie checked and told me the dome arrived and bouquet was done drying so she would do her best to install everything inside the dome for me by the weekend. Today she called me to pick up my bouquet and I came right over. I was so excited and absolutely love the finished product. I highly recommend Shanel's Flowers and Frames. read more

I am so glad I found Melanie and am beyond impressed with my wedding bouquet preservation. I searched vigorously for a local bouquet preservation and I'm so glad I found Melanie being and hour away. She walked me through the full process and choosing a frame and sent me a brochure outlining the process and fees. I mailed my bouquet to her the Monday after our wedding along with my hair pin, garter and my husband's Boutonnière. I was recommended by a friend to check our Shanel's Flowers to preserve my bouquet for my wedding. I'm SO glad I did. My bouquet was the absolute most sentimental detail at my wedding and I wanted to keep it forever. It was wrapped my my mother's wedding dress and had special symbols of my grandmother, who had passed away. I stopped by a few days before the wedding and spoke with Melanie. She was SO nice and helpful! We talked about different designs, colors, and frames. I had my maid of honor drop off my bouquet the day after the wedding. Melanie made it easy for my aunt and uncle to pay with a credit card over the phone, as this was their gift to us for our wedding. My sister-in-law passed away in July; she came from a large family and each of us took a flower from her memorial to keep in memory of her. I contacted Melany for a quote per flower, expecting it to be outrageous but it was so affordable I went in as soon as I could get down to Campbell. I brought in about 10 or 11 individual flowers to be preserved and within about 6 weeks they were finished. They all looked beautiful and retained their color and shape. She also told me how to care for the flowers until I brought it in, which helped them last longer until she has them in her possession; she also immediately puts them in water with plant food to spruce them up a bit before the preservation process. There are preserved flowers decorating the walls in her shop and you can see how good they all look and that she is really passionate about what she does. We had several roses, a calalily, and some carnations preserved and they were all preserved beautifully. She offers framing services as well. It's really a blessing to have a local business that offers this service, to keep a little memory preserved during a big life event such as a funeral or a wedding. Melany even sent us a condolence card while the flowers were in the process of being preserved which I thought was so kind and considerate and was especially touching in our time of grieving. I am beyond happy I took my wedding bouquet to Shanel's Flowers. Our wedding was in San Diego so as we headed off to our honeymoon my in laws took the bouquet back home. I told my MIL that I wanted to save my flowers but never knew about freeze drying flower arrangements. She was recommended Shanel's by a family friend and Melany was able to give them tips on how to make the flowers last longer until they could bring them in the next day. Since my bouquet went through a lot with the travel some of the flowers were too wilted to dry so Melany was kind enough to replace the more wilted flowers so I could have the best possible bouquet. I decided to make a shadow box that I could hang on the wall so I was able to add a couple special things from our wedding inside the box. I added our wedding invitation, cake topper, rosary and my husbands boutonnière. Everything was custom made! I was able to pick out the frame, color, design,etc! At first I was very overwhelmed as there are hundreds of designs and colors but Melody was so patient to let me think about it for a few days and look online for what I like. My brother and his fiancee had yet to set a date when her father died unexpectedly last summer. The thought of walking down the aisle without her father was crushing. At the funeral service, there were beautiful yellow roses - his favorite. Despite the blazing heat, before we left the cemetery, I got the idea to snag a few roses for her bridal bouquet. I wrapped them in paper towels and went to the reception, leaving the roses in the car while we attended the reception. Of course, even with the windows open, they were very droopy. We drove straight to Shanel's to drop them off. I asked them to just do what they could. I figured that if I got one or two that were usable, it would be great. Imagine how impressed I was when I went to pick them up and found out that ALL had been saved. They looked beautiful! They don't have many places in the bay area that does dry freeze no more, so I was super happy to find this place. Melanie, who is the owner is super nice. You can see all her work on the wall. When I first called to get some information she said she would send me a brochure and she did. The dry freeze itself is about $150 which is not bad, but the frame you pick is what gets you. You cannot be cheap on stuff like this because you want to keep it forever. Since it's only Melanie, things do take a while, but if you have a set time she will get it done. Give her at least 3 months' time. She may not always follow up with you because she gets so busy, but every time I call she has been great. If you pay in full you get a little discount. My flowers turned out amazing. It was better than expected. Got my flowers, picked my background color, added the boutonniere, a picture of my hubby and I on our wedding day, and put our wedding invite in the frame too. If you want more than 4 items, there will be additional cost. Melanie will do her best to do what you want. If it's possible, she will get it done! Best to call to make an appointment. read more

Awesome work. I dont remember the name of the lady that helped me, but i think it started with an "M". I called first because my wedding was near x-mas, and they were closed of course, but they had a recording telling you how to preserve your flowers meanwhile. So i took them in when they reopened, they were super nice, and i found the frame that fit my style. A couple months later they called, asked if i wanted a picture in the frame, waited a while until i brought in the picture, and finished the frame beautifully! they were nice enough to replace flowers that looked to tore to be in the bouquet. all in all, great job! read more

I got married on September 2, 2012. On September 4 as we were leaving for our honeymoon, I became very upset about losing my bouquet. I read about Shanel's Flowers & Frames online. I didn't have time to physically bring my bouquet in, so I rush shipped it and hopped on the plane. Knowing my bouquet was safe and sound, I wasn't particularly fussed about picking it up... which is why I just took home the final result a few weeks ago(!) Melanie was very patient with my utter nonresponsiveness at times as we took forever to come in and pick out the mount/frame, send pictures, eventually pick up the bouquet, etc. She worked with our florist to replace some of the flowers that hadn't quite survived two days in a vase and a third day in the mail, and helped us pick the right mount and frame for our style. I just took in my sister bouquet to be dried today and was super happy with the service here. A really nice guy named Mick, I think?, helped us and was very knowledgeable and informative about the process and after a week of dealing with wedding related people who were basically brain dead it was very refreshing to receive a bridal type service without any attitude or stupidity. I commented that my sister had sent the center piece from here head table home with me and I had no idea what to do with the gigantic floral piece but didn't want to throw it out because it was so nice and she'd payed a grip of money for the damned thing and he suggested I could have it dried for her as well, so I ran home and got it. The whole thing bouquet and enormous center piece came out to $250 which was way less than another place had quoted my sister for just her bouquet. Over all 5+ stars for great customer service. I was married in December and, like many brides, hung my gorgeous wedding boquet from a hanger hoping it would dry. When I returned from my honeymoon, my boquet was moldy and wet. Call before making the trek out here. Twice I've come by during listed business hours to find no one in the shop. That would be my only complaint with Shanel's Flowers & Frames. Otherwise, they do a wonderful job with freeze-drying flowers and creating beautiful shadow boxes to display your stuff. It took about six weeks to get everything done and cost around $450 (yeah, it's worth it though). If you're looking to get fresh flowers freeze-dried, make sure you bring them in as soon as possible (I took mine in two days after my wedding and they were still in very good shape). They also do wedding dress preservation, which is good. I'm planning on taking my dress in soon, so I'll let ya know how it goes. read more
