We had Apis provide the florals for our May 2024 wedding and were blown away with the above and beyond service they provided! During the quote stage, Apis was very communicative with us and accommodating of requested changes and estimates for additional services. Our vision for our florals was pretty specific, which was why during the design mockup stage, we were really in awe of their designs and felt that our vision had been heard and understood perfectly. They were able to pull in specific flowers that we loved (sometimes when we weren't even sure of their names and only had cropped screenshots to give them!) and found complimentary ones that matched our color scheme. We were impressed that they stuck around throughout the first parts of the day too, instead of just dropping off the flowers and leaving. They helped me figure out how to best position the bouquet for my entrance so that it looked natural and displayed the blooms beautifully as I descended the (massive) staircase into our ceremony. They also noticed the groomsmen slipping around in their shoes on the rain-soaked terrain, and immediately jumped in with a solution to add some traction to the soles so we wouldn't have any falls! What Jose and Efrain created for our wedding was nothing short of magical! I loved our florals so much that I even took extra steps to preserve as many of them as I could in frames and resin. I'm someone who gets overwhelmed with too much decision making, and I didn't really have a specific vision for my wedding flowers going in. I knew that I wanted purple and I wanted whimsy but that was about it. Our venue, Nestldown, already has beautiful gardens and landscaping and is surrounded by redwoods so I wasn't sure how much more I wanted to add as far as botanicals. Efrain was the perfect person to help us bring a cohesive look together. He asked great questions about the general feel we wanted for the day and gave us some recommendations of what we could do. I also really loved that he never tried to upsell us. He let us know if an idea seemed like too much, was unnecessary or would take away from the natural beauty of the venue. I knew that I wanted to use flowers and greenery that were in season as much as possible. It tends to be better for the environment, is less expensive and makes it more likely that we will be able to get blooms in large quantities when we need them because they are readily available. I could tell that this was also something that was important to them which made me very happy. At our second meeting they created a mock up of what our table centerpieces could look like. I was blown away! It felt like they had figured out exactly what I wanted when I didn't even know myself. Efrain also looked at pictures of my dress, my bridesmaids dresses and my husband's suit to better coordinate our personal flowers for the day. They also figured out how best to reuse as many of the arrangements as possible for different parts of the day which also helped us cut down on cost. On the day of the wedding, Efrain was so sweet! I could tell he was excited to show me what they had created and he personally wanted to hand me my bouquet. They stayed throughout the day to help move things around and make sure everything looked beautiful. They even added some magic to our wedding cake with fresh flowers! We were able to keep all of our arrangements, and we ended up re-using them for a 'Recovery Day' party we had the next afternoon. The flowers all still looked so beautiful a few days after the wedding that, after setting some aside to dry and preserve, I put the rest outside my front door and invited our neighbors to come pick flowers for their homes. read more

This review is embarrassingly long overdue... we hosted our wedding at The Table in 2016 and their manager suggested we use Apis Floral since they provided flowers for the restaurant weekly. I've never been more grateful for a referral! Jose & team were amazing to work with and their creations are absolutely magical and reasonably priced. We were originally going to get married in front of the meat case, but they strongly recommended that we consider having them build an archway/focal point for our ceremony and it was breathtakingly gorgeous! As far as other arrangements, we just told them we wanted the colors to match the restaurant's decor and we'd love to have herbs/produce incorporated to play into the farm-to-table approach of the restaurant. Apis delivered beyond our wildest dreams! We told our guests that they could take centerpieces home, and they were almost all snatched up (including a most of the ceremony archway!) before I could save a couple for ourselves - which is especially impressive since the majority of our guests flew in for the wedding. They were delivered all the floral early in the day so we could take lots of Pre wedding photos. When working with them, they were spot on with floral names and textures. I have been in event planning for many years and have rarely seen floral for a wedding that is this unique and stunning. The only issue, and I hate to say this was communication. One booked, I had a few changes. I sent emails and left phone calls that were slow to be responded to. The APIS team put together the most beautiful arrangements for our May 2023 Wedding! They were on our venues recommended vendor list, so we had to check them out. They went above and beyond in terms of service and communication; were able to take our timeless (classic) vision of white and green florals and make it into something incredible. He's worked weddings at Nestldown many times before, so he knew how to best reuse our florals from ceremony, to dinner and reception. There are so many choices when sending flowers that it can be literally overwhelming. The question really becomes: are we sending basic flowers or not? Not to knock the other guys but companies that will deliver a small bouquet of roses, carnations, some babies breath and maybe a lily for flair are a dime a dozen. If it wasn't for a friend that recommended this place to me, I would have never thought to come in to get the most special gift I picked out for my sister for her bday last week. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love me some flowers. Like the giddy excited child that I am, I picked out all of the succulents that went into her "D" box and showed them to the florist so that she could plant them for me. When I saw my wedding flowers, I couldn't stop saying "ughh" because I couldn't process and handle how pretty the flowers were. I really cannot get over how wonderful, gorgeous, whimsical, soft, and unique my floral arrangements were . I absolutely, positively, adore Efrain and Jose. They are such sweethearts and are so incredibly great at what they do. They also give great hugs. It takes a lot of talent and creativity to do gorgeous and unique floral arrangements. They did their job and excelled at it with little direction. I researched a lot, and I mean, a lot, of florists before booking Apis and knew that when I found Apis, they were the right florists for me. Flowers aren't #1 priority for all brides but for me, it was an area I wanted to splurge on. I love flowers and have 0 regrets about spending on this area. My guests all thought my arrangements were gorgeous. I got to pick out the gold-speckled compote vases for the centerpieces. The only thing I was confused about was whether or not my wedding dress was used for the floral arrangements. I think my mom dropped off the extra fabric from my dress to be used as the ribbon on the nosegays and bridal bouquet but I didn't recognize or see it on the bouquets. I love the Apis location inside the warehouse and how cute and whimsical their entire space is. You can buy lots of pretty gifts and items there outside of floral arrangements. They have candles, vases, cards, mugs and much more. We got comped the boutonnieres for the fathers of the bride and groom and the groomsmen. It was such a generous gesture. I was surprised by how large the nosegays were. I expected them to be half the size but they were quite full and large! I didn't choose specific flowers that I wanted because I knew that I'd love all and any flowers and that there were probably a lot of flower varieties I didn't know the names of that the florists could incorporate. I just told them I wanted peach, purple and pink shades and a loose, flowy, and whimsical shape. I didn't want a hard ball of monotoned roses and I didn't want a glam look despite my relatively glam venue. Apis did my sweetheart table arrangement, cocktail table arrangements, large ceremony arrangements, and fireplace mantle garland as well. Other flower arrangements you might consider for a wedding include plate garnish, flower girl crown, or corsages. My mom, maid of honor and I gushed over the flowers and felt it was 150% worth every penny. I know that others sometimes don't care for nice centerpieces because they have family-style dining where the centerpiece takes up space and guests end up just moving it and putting it on the ground. For my wedding, we had buffet-style dining and we had very large tables. I knew I'd have space for a nice and large centerpiece. I learned about Apis Floral thru a venue space that they frequently decorate (Nestldown in Los Gatos, CA). Making a reservation to come into their shop to look at their inventory was easy to do. I was happy that they were familiar with my wedding venue (SCVCC-Silver Creek Valley Country Club) so I was confident that transportation and getting there wouldn't be a problem for them. I liked that Apis has a wide variety of floral arrangements and they can adapt to many different styles (from romantic, to classic, modern, fun, whimsical, etc). I saw that they had done a kumquat tree arrangement for a Brazilian (?) bride at SCVCC and thought that it was so original & 1 of a kind. I came to their shop (located in a warehouse) to do a consultation with Efrain. It was nice because he pulled different compote vases that I could choose from, votive options, and larger flower stand options. For the larger pieces, they keep the bottom of the flower arrangement but for the shorter centerpieces, you get to keep everything (compote vase included). My mom ended up buying an iridescent vase with wispy dry plants inside for $27. It cost over $30 but Efrain gave us a deal. It was so gorgeous, soft and whimsical. Their prices are very fair and Efrain works with you and your budget goals. I wouldn't have had so much trust in other florists based on their portfolios and past work but with Apis, I had 100% trust and was able to let go of the bride reigns and relax a little. read more

Bless Efrain's soul! We hired Efrain and his amazing team for our wedding, and from our first interaction, Efrain was just the most positive and just an all around amazing person to talk to. The first time we attempted to meet, he had been in an accident and still remained so positive and excited to talk about my wedding when I was more worried about him. The second time we talked his shop had unfortunately been a victim of robbery, and yet he remained so kind, calm, positive and ready to talk about my wedding. Efrain and his team came highly recommended from our wedding venue, and it was the best floral choice we could have made. We were originally supposed to be married April 2020 and had actually gone up to San Jose to do a last walkthrough in March 2020 - right before the shut down. Efrain and his team met with us and had a mock up of what our arrangements were going to be, needless to say, they were gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. I am not from the area, so a lot of our communication was over the phone and through text messages and pictures - and he nailed my vision and it was gorgeous! Boy oh boy this review is long overdue but here it is. I was researching around for small business owned florist and stumbled across Apis Floral. Their designs are not something that comes out of a workbook. When you pay for their creation, you're getting a custom work of art. I inquired about having tulips being delivered, but they didn't have any in the store that day, they even offered to get some picked up the next day if I was willing to have my flowers delivered the next day. The lady on the phone was very helpful with choosing substitute flowers, the style, and the color of the arrangement. I had also asked for late afternoon delivery to which they were able to do. As an wedding & event planner, I've worked with many flower shops, florists, floral designers over the years. This one was personal. These "flower guys" are NEXT LEVEL. They *love* flowers. Every kind and in every way. They are magical, wonderful, and beyond talented. It is so very evident in how they express that love through their work. I knew that they were the team to help me bring together for my Mother's "Celebration of Life" with 10-days notice: multiple floral arrangements from trumpet vases to gold compote bowls, smilax vine draping the walls (yes - the walls!), and a STUNNER of a grand display in the center of the room: a 5-ft tall gold metal floral TREE OF LIFE on top of a 60" round table with MORE floral at the base filled in with pictures of Mom all around. ABOVE it was a 60" floral chandelier.... Jaw-dropping. Gasps. Awe. Jose, co-owner, was the lead designer. He even arrived before the venue was open. He worked in sync with Ben & Nicole of Ludwig's German Table in downtown San Jose (venue). He helped me bring her garden to life, and it was exactly what I asked for and then some. Mom's presence was abundant and our celebration was a wonderful, memorable celebration - just as she wanted. He was kind, energetic, thoughtful, creative, and professional. I felt like I had a friend by my side & I needed that, too :-). When family & friends left after the Celebration, they were *ecstatic* to be able to take home the many arrangements with them. There was actually almost a scuffle between two little Oma's over their table arrangement - lol! Quickly remedied by selecting a stunner from under the Tree of Life display which was full of sweet peas - her favorite. Only regret - I didn't take any pictures. When I switched jobs, I left behind two wonderful ladies who I'd worked closely with in my old department. Today was their last day - one was retiring after 20 years, the other was switching to another position closer to home.
