The service at Shamrock Alley is hit and miss and the fantastic blonde server does not work there anymore so I doubt we will be going back.

Saw an instagram ad for their Sunday roast dinner so planned a trip to The Irish Heather Shebeen…read more I was at their previous locations on Carrall St and this was my first visit to this location that opened in 2021. We had planned on the beef roast dinner and I read reviews that they often sell out so...made the reservations and pre-booked the roast beef dinner...and glad we did. We were seated right away and I opted for a Guinness with the dinner...a perfect pairing with this dinner at this establishment. The Guinness came out pretty quick and the food came out shortly after...great job. They returned with gravy and a horseradish mayo...both so good. Covered everything with gravy and it made the presentation. The taste was great and loved the yorkie smothered in gravy. There was no issue with the service...they very regularly stopped by to see if we needed anything. This is a great deal for $25 for a full roast beef dinner and it was a very positive food experience. TIP: Make the reservation, come early and it's Sundays only.

The vibe here was of an Irish pub, helped that some of the staff were Irish, friendly and very helpful. Huge list of beers, whiskeys and cocktails. Our meal consisted of Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Roast potatoes and veggies along with extra gravy as needed. The beef is served as medium, still very moist and everything was tasty. This dinner was a deal too, $25 per person plus whatever you drank. We also tried the Chips and Curry as an appy, great with beer. Will be doing this meal again.

Not only is this a business…read moreworthy of your money for its food and great customer service, but they are TRULY GOOD GENUINE PEOPLE! They went above and beyond to accommodate my request to get prime rib to my senior mother who lives alone (I am in the States) and I am a total stranger over the phone that they cared to help! It was a bit of a circus for me to even find her favorite meal available today let alone, coordinate a delivery to her (she has no idea its on it way!) She doesn't have that many teeth so steak from ubereats wouldn't work. None of the prime-rib places would deliver, or they were sold out OR they didn't deliver to her area or even worse...wouldn't allow a friend to pick up on my behalf if it were my card. It was really starting to look like Chinese takeout for Christmas dinner but the sad part is this is the first year we have been without each other and she has no other family and she would be considered high risk, so no friends/guests. This meal is going to give her some normalcy as we always enjoyed awesome meals together. As soon as we can, I will be hosting a party to celebrate getting over all of this and I will most definitely pick you! I don't think you know how much impact your gesture has had. Its been a hard hard year. Your kindness will certainly be shared to as many people as I can and has renewed hope in difficult times. Thank you!

NOT SO HAPPY HAPPY HOUR…read more We popped into the Wolf and Hound Irish Pub, which boasts on its website that it's "a good place to hide from the yogis" (not the smartest way to endear itself to this particular neighbourhood!) for some mid-afternoon scran. Between the two of us we ordered deep-fried pickles, poutine, "slow-roasted Angus beef yorkies with crisp onions and au jus", a side of fries and one soft drink. For $8, we got 4 slices of dill pickle (likely one pickle in total) breaded and deep-fried with ranch dip. This was the most successful item because it seemed to be freshly made and hot. At $2 a piece it was wildly overpriced. The mini poutine ($7) was disappointing. The chips were okay, but the cheese was clearly not the required "squeakers", more likely plain old mozzarella, and the gravy was oddly flavoured and unsatisfying. Half of it was left in the bowl uneaten. The so-called yorkies ($9) with so-called slow-roasted Angus beef were a joke. Straight out of the freezer via the microwave without a doubt. The two tiny yorkies were flat and tough. If they'd ever had the famous yorkie puff and lightness it was long gone. The beef was tough and lifeless. And the "au jus" - extremely salty and my guess is it was, not long ago, a powder in a packet to which hot water was added before arriving at our table in a tiny pitcher. I would honestly be embarrassed to serve that dish to anyone. The side chips ($4) were adequate. They arrived hot, at least. One soft drink ($3.25) was served in a glass with a few small ice cubes. It was not cold. At least we didn't get a can plopped down in front of us like at many places. Service: he took our order and he delivered it to our table. No inquiry how everything was, no "Would you like anything else?" No "How was everything?" when we paid. (We gave up waiting for a bill at the table and went to the bar to pay.) He seemed to be the only server in the place and there were several people at the bar, so perhaps they kept him busy. Servings were small and are perhaps mini versions of what is served at full price during non-Happy Hour. I hope so. Our total bill for a decidedly unsatisfactory repast was $33.04 with tax. The Wolf and Hound is in our neighbourhood and we wanted to give it a try. We like to avoid the chain restaurants and want to patronize local independents. Unfortunately, if this was indicative of the

I told the waitress and she said "no, the kitchen temps everything". Me. Um .....NO they don't .....but you keep on believing that. The second time I ordered something it was the pot pie. The filling had ZERO flavor and tasted like it came out of a can. This week? I thought. SIGH....ok. I'll try again. I ordered the chicken wings. Now. This is probably personal preference. But, I tore off the skin trying to get away from that weird sauce. It was so sweet! Think I ate two naked pieces of chicken and called it. That all said? The restaurant is right on the water so the views are great. The staff is kind and VERY attentive. Can't say I won't try again. Maybe next time I'd try the wings without sauce. Or! I'd like to try their Irish egg rolls :)

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.
