I came to Dr.Shalyto thinking I needed an implant on a broken tooth since my regular dentist did not do implants. My intention was to use his service just for that procedure and return to my usual doctor. First of all, I fell in love with the procedure room that has a big window looking onto bustling, green street.( It was obvious the doctor enjoyed the lively scenery too.) Turns out I did not need the implant, just a crown, but he immediately did a full exam with the utmost expertise which my own dentist has failed to do. He made me aware of all the things that needed attention without a hint to an obvious negligence of another professional. I was shocked since I have a decent insurance and religiously keep my 6 month appointments. My crown was beautiful, finally, instead of a "blue" tooth. Every time I came for the next procedure, I actually looked forward to be in his capable hands. The doctor and his assistant Tanya are just as generous with a healthy dose of their wicked sense of humor as they are with their knowledge and craft. They have an incredible professional harmony which makes you feel they truly enjoy what they are doing. The office professional Lydia knows everything about insurance, procedures, aftercare and always cheerful and treats each visitor with a special touch. They insist that you call and let them know how you are recovering and call you also. Excelent doctor. Great staff. I have been his patient for well over a decade and will be as long as he stays in practice. My front teeth have been complemented so many times I can't keep count. Dr.Shalyto is a nice, patient and experienced dentist. I trully can't say enough about his expertise.... True story, when he was doing my front teeth and had basically put them in, he looked at them and then my face and the teeth again...and said, "You know, they just don't become you or do you justice", "Would you mind waiting a few days until I have the lab redo them?" Ok, i said. Thank the Gid I did. They lookedgood the first time (this was not a mistake on his part, this was due to the lab not being able to see my face and teeth together), but man oh man did they look great once completed the second time, and still do look good now. First of all I'd like to state that this is my first review. The reason is that I don't like giving the negative reviews and I didn't find many places that would deserve any positive feedback. And I hate going to dentists but I had to give 5 stars review because I was simply charmed by Dr. Shalito and his stuff. The office is clean and bright, and upon arrival I always greeted immediately by very professional front desk specialist. Dr.Shalito is incredible. He is professional, funny and gentle and he made me forget all my usual dentist fears. After the procedures he always following up to verify the results and I'm grateful for Dr. Shalito professionalism. I have been a patient of Dr. Shalyto's for over 25 years. He has helped me on all the levels. One of my biggest personal hiccups came off bullies who chipped my tooth when I was in the 2nd grade. Dr Shalyto fixed the tooth with the filler and for years would make adjustments. Over 10 years ago, he told me about veneers. Took me that long to get comfortable with the idea. He guided me through the process and was extremely patient with all my questions and worries. Long story short, I got my confidence back and my smile. My experience with Dr. Shalyto was incredibly positive. Upon entering, the office itself is very clean and welcoming. The secretary was professional and knowledgeable. The wait time was short, which was a great convenience since I drove from Long Island. Dr. Shalyto himself is a very competent dentist. Additionally, he was very warm, funny, and patient. He puts you at ease and you feel sincerity and security in his recommendations and bedside manner. Several years ago, a NYC retired educator told me about Dr. Shalyto; she highly recommended him and said, among other qualifications, that he had very gentle hands. I started visiting Dr. Shalyto then and I still go to him for any dental issues. I like how he explains every step of the procedure and how he succeeds in making you feel relaxed during the visit. Dr. Shalito is great, and so ar their fares. He is really nice and sweet, and gets what you need done for the most reasonable price ever. My previous dentist wanted to charge me 250 dollar for 2 fillings (with insurance), he charged 60 for what my other dentist would have considered 3 fillings. He is gentle and nice. His office is a bit far, but it is great sitting there and just stare at the trees on the street. They were also very nice treating me even when I had not my full insurance information. Shortly after I wrote the first review, I went back for the usual "end of session" cleaning. Usually, this procedure is done by an assistant, but since I needed to reschedule my visit, the good Doctor did it himself. At the end, he said words I never thought I would hear from a dentist. He said, "I guess I won't see you for a while." I gave him a questioning look, and he then said, "Your teeth and gums are in good shape. You won't be needing me for a while."
