Best Dentist ever, kindest staff and a very clean and calming space. I have been coming to Dr. Lee for almost five years now and I truly think he is the best dentist ever! When I first visited him, I was so nervous because I had not gone to the dentist in years, and in the past had been shamed by dentists and told that everything that could go wrong teeth was going to happen to my teeth. Dr. Lee made me feel so comfortable immediately and truly transformed the health of my teeth. I know this is a big statement, but All Smiles was the most positive and pleasant dental experience I think I've ever had in my history of getting dental work/procedures done. I called a week ago to see if they can squeeze me in for an emergency consultation because I broke my upper back molar tooth. Although Dr. John isn't my regular dentist I've been going to, I've heard great things about his office and so I inquired when I needed help with my emergency. The front office staff was very helpful, professional and attentive. Luckily, they were able to schedule me right away. They actually called me a few times to move me up to an earlier appointment than what I had originally scheduled - which I appreciated. When I arrived for my appointment, they signed me in quickly and I was seen right away. The assistant took my X-ray to see what's going on, and Dr. John saw me shortly after. He explained to me what was going on with my tooth and the possible procedures he might have to do. He cleaned my tooth, and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. There was so much clear communication and he was constantly checking in to see how I was doing/feeling. No one likes getting their tooth drilled and the sound/feeling is so uncomfortable. I've always feared and hated the dentist. But today was such a positive experience and I'm so happy with the result of today's visit. And I gotta hand it to Dr. John because the tooth that needed work done was in a difficult location and I know it wasn't an easy job today. But My tooth is completely restored and feels back to normal, and better than ever - I'm so thankful!! Dr. John is friendly, meticulous, gentle, and HONEST. It is never an easy thing to find a new dentist especially when I felt my former dentist was spectacular, but time has passed since I first went to him and it was just a matter of time until his imminent retirement. So I set about my research into a new practice which lead me to All Smiles. *START RANT* I am fortunate to be covered by two dental insurance plans, my own and my wife's which are both "fee for service" plans which means they follow a fee schedule and every procedure is assigned a 5 digit code that seems to be universal for billing purposes. Each of my plans gives a maximum payout schedule for each procedure, by code, but in my searching I could never find ANY dentist that would give me a "price list" of what that charge for each procedure. All Smiles didn't either, but they did give me the amount they would bill for a specific procedure and I found my two plans would cover the amount. It made me feel comfortable to make an appointment, but I still believe ALL Dentists and Medical practices should have the fees they charge clearly stated and available to anyone that asks. *END RANT* I found everyone to be friendly and efficient at All Smiles. I got there a bit early for my appointment to fill out the initial paperwork, and I laughed to myself when they asked me to sign a missed appointment / late policy understanding form where patients are charged a fee for failing to cancel more than 24 hours in advance, or if you arrive 15 minutes or more late to an appointment. I get it, it throws off their schedule and their time is valuable, so is mine, I wonder if they will pay me the same consideration for a last min cancellation or waiting too long? HAHA somehow I doubt it! As soon as I completed the paperwork an assistant brought me in, made me comfortable (I get irrational "white coat syndrome" so as comfortable as I can be) and proceeded to take x-rays with great care. Once finished, Dr. Lee came in and got down to business doing the cleaning himself. He was very informative and straight forward, which I truly appreciated. He noted my lack of calculus (tartar) and asked if I flossed daily, which I do. I smiled because my efforts were paying off. With no issues to report, he told me he will see me in six months for my next cleaning, which I look forward to because I realized my search for a new dentist is over! This is my second visit here and I am thrilled to have found Dr. Lee. My first visit was a few months ago when I was in immense pain thinking I had a bone/teeth/mouth infection and Dr. Lee was super concerned and honest in his feedback. He could have made me pay out of pocket for additional xrays but instead he did an assessment and advised he strongly does not think my pain is teeth related. Instead of trying to make a dollar out of me, he took his time and urged me to see my doctor related to my trigeminal neuralgia. I have zero idea why this place has such good reviews and here's why you might want to consider not going here. I booked finally booked an appointment for my annual dental check up after the re-open for COVID. It was so hard to get an appointment, I assume due to increased volume of needs. I've been going this place for about 1.5 - 2 years? and had the dentist as my primary dentist. I booked my appointment in first week of September and was able to book it for 3rd week of October. I received a phone call from a receptionist saying that Dr. Lee is not set as my primary dentist- I told the receptionist that I renewed my insurance last week and already set Dr. Lee as my primary dentist and asked to double check. After, she suddenly started saying "Oh I'm sorry we don't accept your insurance anymore". I was like what the heck. I'm not even sure if she was just lazy/pissed off, however, I've waited more than month for this appointment and not they're saying they won't accept me in any way. Whoever works in the front, either need to switch her job or perform better. When I made the appointment in the first place, I had the exact same insurance and she even verbally confirmed "is you insurance still Aetna?". If they truly don't accept it, she could've noticed when I first called last month. I'm not sure if this is from her tardiness/laziness, but I really hope the manager or the owner of the practice knows her performance. read more

Dr. Lee and his team work very well together. Scheduling: Dr. Lee and his staff are mindful of patient experience in that they stagger their patients well. Unlike other dental offices, they don't book multiple patients and make their patients wait. Terrible experience here despite the good reviews. Went with my sister years ago and was told we had over 6 cavities. After filling them, we kept being told we had more to the point where I had 13-15 by the time I finally decided to go to another dentist to get a second opinion. I called to make an appointment and asked them if they accepted empire blue cross blue shield. They asked if I was PPO plan or not and I said I didn't know and gave them my member ID, name, birthday, ect for them to check. They set up a date for me to come in and told me that if there was any problem with my insurance, then they'd call me. So I get no calls or anything for 2 weeks so I assume my insurance is accepted and I'm good to go. Then ONE day before my appointment they call me saying they don't accept my insurance. They had 2 whole weeks to check and get back to me and they do it last minute?! They made me wait another 2 weeks to get another dentist appointment and were not considerate of my situation. read more

Dr. Lee is the most responsible, patient and kind dentist I've been to. He won't force a patient to have any procedure done, he offers very affordable prices, and he if is not confident of a procedure, he will refer you to a specialist. He does all the cleanings himself. His receptionists are all very wonderful. I have been to many many many dentists, with more dental work done than I can keep track of, and Dr. Lee is by far the best!! I've recommended my parents to go see him, and they both love him as well! Dental work itself is painful, but Dr. Lee gets the job done with the least amount of discomfort!! After several attempts to get our daughter to take out her front baby tooth at home... we finally gave up and brought her to the dentist office. Wow am i glad i did! Usually i end up with my legs wrapped around her body and my arms desperately trying to keep her still while my accomplice, sometimes her mom, sometimes grandma, tries to get a thread around her tooth... Thankfully her mouth is usually open, unfortunately it's because she is screaming at the top of her lungs... And so i was totally blown away at how calm my daughter was throughout the entire visit... Dr. Lee spent the time to explain to my daughter everything he was going to do, including giving her a shot of Novocain (tooth sleepy juice), which i thought at that point she was going to go into fits, but Dr. Lee has such a calm demeanor that my daughter just agreed and allowed him to proceed. I was blown away. I think it's cause Dr. Lee has sort of a hypnotic tone when he speaks, that and his skilled hands made for a very pleasant visit to the dentist. For nearly two decades (well, since I had enough teeth to go to the dentist), I had always DESPISED going to the dentist. Twice a year, I would have an extremely uncomfortable (and often traumatic) dental experience. Over the last few years, the practice I went to moved to Long Island and became increasingly expensive. My dental insurance also changed a few years ago and this place wasn't affiliated, but we kept going out of habit. Finally, my family looked for a practice that was closer and took our insurance. We saw this one and I set an appointment, expecting the worst. On the day of my cleaning, I went in, checked in with the girl in front, and waited barely 3 minutes (instead of 15+ like my old place) before being brought in. The dentist, Dr. Lee, did the cleaning himself, with the help of a hygienist(?). It was quick, easy, and painless. I had a cavity, which he was able to clean and fill in the same visit. It was, literally, the absolute best experience I have ever had at the dentist in my life. I'm not even exaggerating. I've been back a couple times since for some tooth pain and biannual cleaning. I no longer cringe at the thought of going to the dentist, which for me is HUGE. When I first came to visit Dr. Lee, it was due to an emergency with an infected tooth. I was in a lot of pain. Due to my past experience with my previous dentist, I wanted to go to someone new. He agreed to see me as a walk-in on a Saturday - which is rare for any Doctors to allow. After being xrayed & examined, his office called around and found an endodontist that was on my plan that was open on a Saturday & that would also agree to see me that same day. They did more for me than any other dentist office that I have ever been to. Even though I was only a first time visitor to his office, I was treated as a loyal patient. Both Dr. Lee & his staff have always been very professional, courteous, and caring. The office is very clean & organized. If you are the type of person that is scared of the dentist, you will definitely be put at ease here. Dr. Lee is always very gentle and informative during each visit. This office is the most courteous and professional medical facility I have been to. Dr. Lee was highly recommended to me by a friend, and now I am recommending him to everyone I know. The staff are very kind and they triple checked my insurance plan to make sure which treatments were covered and how much I would have to pay. I've never seen this in any medical facility in Queens. My experience with other doctor's offices is that they make a mistake with my billing and then I have to argue with back and forth between the office and the insurance company. I researched over 20 dentists and practices trying to find the right one. I have seen 5 dentists in my life and i always come out confused, never knowing what was done and always questioning fees to pay. Dr. Lee and his staff are perfect. They are caring, empathetic and answer all your questions. Dr. Lee takes his time and gives you different options and reasons why he recommends them. I absolutely love that. He told me that a gold crown is stronger than a white porcelain one..and the gold one was 60 bucks cheaper. When hes working on you he tells you exactly what hes doing and explains how long its going to take. While hes working he says things like "we're 50% complete". He makes you feel at ease and calm. I feel hes the best dentist. I come all the way from long island to see him. The office is very clean and he has all the updated dental machines. Dr Lee referred me to an endodontist (root canal specialist) I like that he doesn't take on the project himself. He said hes a general dentist and he prefers to refer to someone who specializes in that field--which i completely understand. An endondontist does 20-30 root canals a week. Whereas a general dentist may not do that many. So i went to an endodontist in Great neck who gave me an amazing root canal and I went back to Dr. Lee for the cap and additional work that needed to be done in the root canal. I find his method for referring very refreshing. I once had a general dentist extract my wisdom teeth, he did not refer me to an oral surgeon, It took him about an hour to extract one tooth. Im not kidding you--He even called his wife in the office to help him. (Home Business). Thus the reason for searching on the internet for hours for the perfect dentist-Im so grateful I found Dr. Lee! The front desk girls are amazing. They will look up your insurance information and tell you exactly what you're going to pay BEFORE you see the dentist. One girl called around on a Saturday afternoon looking for an endodontist in the area. I appreciated her efforts. They called me one day and said the insurance company over paid them and i was due a refund of 80 dollars. They sent me a check. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I have never had a doctors office give me back money. Ever. They care about their patients. They are professional and I never wait long. I also want to add, i waited before posting this review. I wanted to make sure i visited him several times before posting this review because there are times that a doctor is nice on your first visit and then it goes downhill from there. From day 1 they've been nothing but so helpful. Days prior to my appointment, they called me in regards to my insurance not being assigned to them so I called and everything went well. As for my follow up, my insurance didn't show it was assigned due to their technical difficulties so the dental office called me again to inform.
