I have terrible experience with this dental clinic. After spending a lot of money and realized that they only care for money. I picked this clinic due to good yelp reviews and cleanliness. I wish that they are transparent with charges. Until I changed another clinic and found out that my insurance covers the procedures they charged me for. The worst part is that I have severe pain from the tooth they did root canal and crown. They didn't do a good job and not responsible for what they did. They scared me how bad the teeth are and need to do many procedures which are not required. I have enough from this clinic, I just want that people can do diligently pick the good dental clinic. I understand that it costs a lot for dental procedures, but should not spend for unnecessary procedures. I started to wear my Invisalign braces one and a half year ago after a coworker recommended Dr. Raymond to me. Later at a point I was so worried that any unwanted changes may occur after I finish the treatment, such as change in face shape etc. So I called Dr. Raymond the next day. He made available to meet with me the same day and spent an hour reviewing my profile and addressing all my concerns. I was impressed by how responsible he is to his patient and that hour long conversation definitely built the doctor-patient trust. I would also highlight the services provided by the clinical staff Sophia and the hygienist (forgot her name, but she said she loves bubble tea). They are both super patient and professional and provided me a lot help and instructions. This is my 15th month wearing Invisalign. The fact they do accept Healthfirst insurance is good. The doctors are ok. The front desk staff have attitude and very laid back and not willing to do a thing more for the client. Such as Healthfirst member don't need to pay any co-payments after June 1, 2021. They don't want to call Healthfirst to confirm but ask me to pay anyway with an attitude. I am on the search for a new dentist and after reading a few of Bright Ray Dental's reviews, I've come to the consensus that he is a great practitioner thats overshadowed by less than par reception desk. Although I do believe that having a great reception desk is extremely important in regards to effective communication, patient experience and retention. But, I heard Dr. Huang's great, so I've decided to give them a call and book an appointment. The first thing that was said to me when I call was, "Hello?". There was no assurance that I had called the right place so I had to ask and confirm that it was indeed a dental office. My expectations were already low, but I was at least expecting a "Hello this is Bright Ray Dental". Forget the "how may I help you" part, thats already out thats already out of the question lmao. She (reception desk) then asked me for my birthdate. I told her my birthdate and then I was immediately put on hold. That's cool I don't really mind, I understand that dental offices can be busy. ..... But, it has been already 15 minutes and I am still on hold. Needless to say, I will probably hang up by the time I finish my review and take my business elsewhere. I came to this practice for a second opinion for a toothache. A little bit of history, I had a root canal and crown done over 5 years ago. About a year ago, the crown came off and my general dentist replaced the crown. 6 months after the replacement, I began having toothaches. My general dentist said only solution was extraction due to failed root canal. I came to Dr. Huang's office for a second opinion and have no regrets. He immediately noticed the crown too high, which was a possible cause of the pain. He proposed to remove the crown because it could not be adjusted anymore and wait to see if the pain subsides, which it did. He was very informative and was very patient in discussing his diagnosis and treatment options with me so that I could make an informed decision. The office also is very clean and modern. I had x-rays sent over from my prior dentist and when he compared them, you could clearly tell the x-rays were of better quality. He saved me a good chunk of money as well as my tooth. I recently visited Bright Ray Dental. During my visit I was told 3 separate times what my co-pay should be. Each time I was told what my co-pay should be, ended up being more. This led me to call my insurance provider and I found out I way over paid. Bright Ray Dental billing department either don't know what they are doing or they are price gouging. Also, Bright Ray Dental wants the co-pay upfront before my insurance company send me a statement on how much I owe. I was going to do a check up , then wisdom tooth removal afterwards pay for Invisalign and veneers for my front tooth. It was upsetting that for my check up , the place charge me for full mouth x-ray EVEN THOUGH my INSURANCE COVER it! They charge me an extra 40 dollars. One of the best dentists I've been to. Dr. Huang is professional and courteous, and clearly knows what he's doing. The office is also quite sleek: very clean and modern. They are open on weekends, which is quite convenient if you're like me and have a hard time getting out of work on weekdays. For those without dental insurance, Dr. Huang's rates are very reasonable (especially compared to what I was paying for dentists in Manhattan). I signed up for a $199 membership plan that gives me free x-rays and cleaning for an entire year, and also discounts on other services (e.g. fillings). Weekend hours + parking on premises = WIN! My insurance assigned me to this location and I was a bit skeptical because of many uneventful experiences with Flushing dentists. I was sold upon finding out they have weekend hours!! At my first visit, the hygienist was very careful and took into consideration of my painful areas. She was very gentle and did a good job in cleaning. At my second visit, for post op care for root canal, Dr. Ray was very gentle and explained what was going to be done. He made sure I wasn't in any pain or discomfort (he even offered a pillow to put under my head!) during the procedure. I highly recommend this dentist and hope his bedside manner doesn't change. I've been coming to Bright Ray Dental once every two weeks for the past a couple of months. I had to get a wisdom tooth removed and get the root canal treatment. I also got some cavity fixed here. My wisdom tooth was really deep and it's very risky to remove it because it may destroy some of the nerves. Dr. Huang did a delicate job. He's more than professional. He minimized the pain that getting a wisdom tooth removed may bring. And he always explains every step of the treatment, which makes me less nervous. Also, the nurses here are very friendly too. I had a very comfortable experience here. One thing I'm really thankful to Dr. Huang is that he accelerated the process of making the crown for my tooth. Thanks to him, I was able to get the full treatment done before I left the states. Also, Dr. Huang gave me a very good price for everything because I do not have insurance currently. I've recently gotten my dental implant done from BrightRay performed by Dr Ray where I've had my stitches removed today...and out of contrary, the whole process including the implanting itself is almost painless! I started going to this dentist when it first opened in Flushing, NY. It's still a new office with an overall very comfortable atmosphere and excellent customer service from the staff. I've since gone there for cleaning, a root canal, fillings and emergency visits. I have Fidelis Medicaid. Dr. Huang is knowledgeable and empathetic to the patient's needs while in his chair. I, surprisingly, had my root canal done on site versus getting a referral and the hassle of finding another dentist (endodontist) that accepted my health plan to do the root canal. He takes his time to do each procedure right. No pain from needles or drilling. I refer everyone to his office. He is a trustworthy and gentle dentist that gets the job done. read more

After a bad miscommunication between the front desk, the manager was very proactive and called me back to apologize for a misunderstanding. I really appreciated that they cared for every patient enough to do that. Dr. Huang was very attentive about the situation as well. The only negative I would say is that they now charge you a service fee (3.5%) if you want to pay by credit card (this is new as I had no issues when I made my initial payments). I think that is odd as my HSA card and I'm sure FSA cards are considered credit cards. What's the point of using those funds if I'm going to be charged an additional fee - defeats the purpose of saving tax free dollars. read more

Worst doctor ever. My biggest mistake was going to Dr Huang to get Invisalign. For people with TMj issues you shouldn't even be going to a regular dentist to get ortho treatment. Because of him I now have permanent tmj issues. He never gave me an exact answer nor a solution to solve the issue. Instead I had to stop my Invisalign treatment completely. He didn't even apologize nor did he refunded my money back when I didn't even complete the treatment. I lost 5000 just for his lack of knowledge. It is very irresponsible and careless for the amount of money we paid to only have a assistant see me each visit. I never saw him after the consultation. So updating my review after having my crown issue resolved and I can say Dr Huang really cares about his business. If you have or had an unpleasant experience you should most certainly bring it to his attention. Waiting room time is reasonable. I usually arrive about 10 min before my appointment, check in with the front desk and end up waiting 10 to 20 min. I've been here over a dozen times and I've had a few longer waits but that's only been 2 or 3 times, i feel like that's fair. Don't come early! As for the staff, the hygienists are pretty friendly and the other dentist, Dr Liu is pretty socialable as well. Both dentists are very positive and have good bedside manner and explains what's going on. If you're here on the weekends, you'll probably run into Dr Liu. They both seem like great guys, you don't get the impression they're lecturing you or pretentious, they explain things to you the way a friend does. So i like coming here. FYI, when you leave the room, make sure you ask if you need to come back for a followup before checking out with the receptionists. I've missed a few follow ups. read more
