BEWARE INSURANCE FRAUD SCAM…read more My son and I had our 1st visit at Thrive Dental on 3/3/26 located 41-02 Bell Blvd for general cleaning. Unknown to myself until I received the EOB explanation of benefits from my insurance company with explanation of services. Thrive dental put through a claim for $3,000 for braces for my son which they never discussed with either myself or my son. Braces he didn't need. Furthmore, after having my cleaning done. I was advised I needed a necessary treatment on 6 of my teeth that was not covered by my insurance. My out of pocket expense was $570 which I paid trusting what I was told by the front desk manager (Diana) that my insurance didn't cover this service. To find out later that no claim was never submitted. It was only after I made a phone call to my insurance company. Whom in turn called the dental office and requested a claim for services rendered. My insurance DID cover said service at $180 that thrive dental stated was not covered, plus received my out of pocket of $570. Of course my insurance company is aware and the process is in place of having my out of pocket refunded back to me. With that being said. BEWARE of this or any other company follow up with your insurance. Never trust what they claim about your insurance not covered.

This time around I was looking for a place with professionalism, cleanliness and most importantly, a classy, educated receptionist. I swear that receptionist at Kent's office was a pure nightmare and I'm glad I never have to deal with her ever again! I am so happy to have entrusted my dental care with doctor Rafailov now. He not only gets the job done, he takes the time to explain the procedure to the patient; takes his time with each procedure to make sure each patient is happy and at the end, performs an awesome job. He's been doing this for so many years I honestly felt no fear when he was taking out my wisdom teeth. I had three different procedures done on my teeth at his office: 1) cleaning 2) filling 3) wisdom teeth extraction. The cleaning and extraction were done by doctor Rafailov but the filling was done by another dentist that they had just hired name Rachel (I think, I might have forgotten her name). After my filling appointment with her, I literally couldn't chew on my left side where I had the filling because it would hurt like hell. I thought it was just some residual pain but weeks went by and I could still not chew! So during my next appointment, doctor Rafailov took a look and said that it was "not even" and that one side was higher than the other and that was causing me the pain. The important thing is that he fixed it right away and after that I did not have any pain chewing food anymore. When I scheduled my appointment for the extraction, the receptionist scheduled me on the Sunday before labor day because I had requested a weekend date. Mind you, this appointment was made weeks before the actual date. Then the Friday before Labor Day, she called and said that she "forgot" that they were closed and that I had to rescheduled...I was really really annoyed because I had cancelled all my plans and switched around my work schedule to get these teeth taken out, and she just ruined everything in one phone call. I wouldn't have mind if they had called sooner, but cancelling on someone with such short notice was just not acceptable. I was pissed but what can I do? Once I finally got the appointment, I was lucky enough to have doctor Rafailov do my extractions, all 4 wisdom teeth. We took 2 out first then waited 2 weeks later to take out the last two. I honestly thought the procedure was going to take forever but it was faster than I though. I wasn't prescribed anything afterwards because it was a simple extractions since my teeth were growing straight and were not impacted. I just rinsed my mouth with salt water and took some Advil for pain, totally was not bad at all. I'm honestly thankful for him for doing such a great job!!

I knew this was bs because teeth whitening is supposed to be instantaneous, as soon as you come out of the office. Then I tried calling back 3 different times the day after and they sent me straight to voicemail all 3 times. I went in today (6/11/24), to request a refund from Dr. Hur himself but he completely avoided asking me questions about why I want the refund and seemed like in a rush to get me out of there. Dr. Hur walked away from me in the office, I followed him up to the front to hear him saying, "this guy" with a laugh off. He then told me that me, my mom and ANYONE in my family are not allowed to go there because I vocalized that I was going to dispute with my bank. I'm a college student working and have car payments, I saved up 3-4 months for this procedure, it didn't work and just wanted a refund. That's $750 gone, along with them saying me and my mother can no longer go there I've contacted my bank and will be filing a complaint to New York State Dentistry. They also charge $750 for a $500 in office whitening procedure.
