Been a long time patient here and Dr Fang great dentist. However, don't think I'm returning as their front desk is just exceptionally rude, unprofessional and plain combative. Not sure if the same person all these years but their receptionist definitely had always been unacceptable and just progressively worst throughout the years. Went to their Chinatown office on Centre St. My doctor was great putting me at ease to get my first crown put in after having a root canal done elsewhere. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. Just across the street from Canal st. Train station for J train. read more

I can only comment on Dr. Gene Fang, as I have not dealt with the other associates. I find his approach to be honest and I never get the sense that he is in it for the profit. Case in point- I've been to 2 other dentists where they were eager to drill my molar stating that I had a cavity. But because it was not bothering me, I held out. When I saw Dr. Fang, he showed me the X-ray, examined my tooth, and said that it was just a hairline fracture. It was fine for another 2 years or so until I bit into a hard nut and I cracked it fully. I fixed it at that point. I appreciate that I can trust him. Always friendly and open to answering my questions openly and honestly. And when the scientific data is murky, he has been honest with that too. Ummm...yeah...it's an emphatic NO for me. This is a place definitely more concerned with quantity over quality. As someone else stated, this was the quickest cleaning I've ever received (maybe 10 minutes); just aggressive scraping that left my mouth sore and feeling worse than when I arrived. I guess my previous dentist spoiled me, because I was expecting at least a floss and an offer to rinse after the scraping. The entire experience left a bad taste (literally and figuratively) in my mouth. Even the setup is terrible with little to no privacy offered. While waiting, I noticed they offered all leaving a complimentary dental goodie bag. While I don't really need it, I did find it strange that nothing was offered to me. Perhaps, they save true communication, care and tenderness for certain groups, which is why I've been search of a dental group with a true diverse staff. read more

This is a spot right at the heart of Flushing across from the bigger municipal parking lot. The office is clean, staff pleasant and efficient, i never have to wait more than half an hour to be seen by the hygienist then the dentist. Appointments here can stretch to weeks and months after, but as long as I don't need to physically wait in the office to be seen to get the job done, I'm a happy bunny. Equipments and settings here are clean and modern with up to date technology. Doctor and staff here are bilingual Chinese and English. Elevator wait can take a little while depending on the time of day, but it is Flushing and you are at Queens Crossing after all. read more

The first time I was here it was for a toothache. Before I saw the dentist, I was given two x-rays to pinpoint what could be causing the pain. Turned out to be a filling that partially came off. The dentist who repaired my teeth did it in a few minutes and sent me away. Quick service might be good for some lines of work, but the fact that the fix-up was so quick (and kinda pricey?) didn't leave a good impresssion. I came back a second time for my annual cleanup. The front desk did not leave a good impression, as noted in some other reviews. One of the ladies said something to me when I arrived. I could not hear her so I asked her to repeat herself. She said it again and I still couldn't hear her. Just a note, there's no solid wall between the front desk and the "rooms" where patients are seen; you can hear all the cleaning tools, humming coming from the machines, and drilling noises. I asked her to repeat herself again and I still couldn't hear her. This went on a couple of more times, and each time I asked her to say it again, she just mumbled. At one point, she and the other ladies at the front desk all just looked and laughed at me for not being able to hear. Yes, terrible customer service is hilarious. I eventually got the cleanup, which wasn't as comprehensive and thorough as the cleanups I have gotten at other dental offices. Afterwards, I told the dentist I was feeling some toothache on the other side of my mouth. He worked on it and said it should be fine now. It's been two weeks and the toothache is back and feels worse. What exactly did he fix???? Two stars because (1) they did do their job for the first toothache and cleanup (2) their office is new and clean. Given that there's plenty of dental offices in the area, I won't be coming back. Annoyed that I wasted time and money here. read more

I went to Access Dental on 139 Centre street for the cleaning. The office & staff were professional. However, the dentist gave me a cleaning that was the quickest & lasted maybe 10 minutes. My teeth felt the same. I think he was busy & just squeezed me in & rushed me out. I will not go back. read more

Just moved back to NYC after living abroad for over 10 years and needed to find a new Primary Care Physician, Dentist, and Barber.... Well, at least I got the Dentist part taken care of. I was set up with Dr.Edmund at the clinic for a check-up and he was polite, patient, explained things in detail, and thoroughly checked the status of the crown I had from many years ago. This is the best dental office I've ever been and I would recommended it to my friends and family. Good ambience, room looks clean and neat, staffs were professional and i love my dentist! My cleanings are always well done, fast and efficient and most importantly no pain! He always explains me everything in detail and with perfect clarity. Personally I think this place could have gotten 4-5 star review but then I had to shave off a few points just because of my experience I had there. 1. As one reviewer wrote, the receptionist had such an attitude problem. If your day isn't going so well, don't bring that with you to work unless you want to lose customers! how hard is it to fake a smile? I don't really care. All i know is that if I wasn't rude to you, you shouldn't be rude either. 2. The receptionist/secretary giving patients x-rays of their teeth now? I thought that there was proper training needed for this, not any monkey could do that because I thought proper procedure was needed, but nope, the receptionist (not wearing scrubs) comes in and without patient care, jams the film into my mouth like I'm not gagging here and trying to yank the instrument out of my mouth. Good freaking job! I wish I knew their English name before coming over to this place referred by a friend. Horrible place. Basic cleaning and nothing else. Well, my first time there so they know they can do all kind of xrays and charging extra I suppose since I have good insurance. Such basic cleaning and my bill came up to $1300. Insurance company sent me a summary but I didn't have to pay them but this office will that sum. Man they are not even worth 130 let alone 1300???? Don't really know WTH they did, barely 10 mins of that lousy cleaning? What a freaking ripped off .....find somewhere else that's honest and good. The front desks - yes it's all true wasn't totally RUDE to me but I can sense the NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE BEHAVIOR FROM THEIR TONE. My first time; usual would be how long approx. since you at least see 4-5 people ahead of you and they said no clue w/an evil eye??? I didn't have a problem with the ladies at reception once I entered the office. In fact they were very sweet to my son who did not like sitting on the stool behind me and let me hold him while they did my x-rays. The male dentist I saw left me with less of a stellar impression. He kind of just came in, looked at one tooth, didn't really listen to my response to his question or even let me tell him what the issue was. He was in and out in 30 seconds before sending his assistant in to quote me for root canal and implant procedures. (Ridiculously expensive!) Also the rooms have no doors and reception is right outside the very first room. Not too pleasing for me honestly. Also the office is part of a larger complex and it's tough to get here, go in the building and then have to fight the massive crowds all waiting for the elevators. This dental office, PLEASE THINK TWICE- i called this place to set appointment for mother. They told me they take her insurance, but i called the insurance before then to find her a dentist that takes her plan and they told me to go to this place. When we got there everything clear with insurance. They called my mother in to take xrays. Mind you I'm a Licensed Dental Assistant of NY, once they finish with xrays i went in due to my mother doesn't fully speak English. 1- First thing i saw was my moms xrays, they only took 4 bite wing and 2 periapical , my mother has alot of missing teeth. When a patient is missing teeth or a broken tooth or filling they have to take PA's (periapical) - DR. TSANG tells my mother she needs 3 Root Canals with no periapical to see the APEX to diagnostics this, if any Root canal needed Patient need Pericapical . DR.MICHELLE TSANG give improper diagnosis . 2. My mother needs a new partial upper denture which insurance pays for. The female Doctor Dr M.Tsang said that her insurance will not pay for a partial. LIES!! Doctor did not want to do my mothers services because of 2 things either insurance doesn't pay while for dentures or she doesn't know anything about prosthodontics . OKay soo Whichever reason she picked- is called a dentist that is money hungry, only cares of $$$$ NOOOTTT the Patient!! THIS DOCTOR is listed under my mothers insurance, soo that means she aware of her pay from these insurances. Dentist/ doctors signs a contract with these insurances. Meaning they have to see these patients weather she like to or not. I told doctor " okay so when are you sending out for pre-approval for the partial denture and for root canal?" doctor "oh no, insurance will not pay for any of these service." I said " excuse, i know insurance very will and they will pay for it, especially for the partial denture." then doctor tells me " you see, we don't take this insurance, she will have to pay out of pocket almost 10,000 for only 3 root canals and crown. Thats not including the partial Dentures btw . She notice that i caught up to her slick self-unprofessional doctor. I said " let me have a copy of her treatment with cost and copy of her xrays. OH also i mention to her about the broken which she did not mention at all about that tooth into i bought it up- she also did not put it in my mothers treatment plan. She got scared.. THEEENNN once that was said, Doctor says" we do take insurance (she knew what insurance my mother had the whole time because i mention it in the room with her and she also mention that my insurance will not pay for services) SOO here we have a doctor that suppose to help patients but change the verse like no tomorrow. At end she referred my mother out because she said she cant do my mothers services. In my mind i was like, OH how Beautiful !! that she knew how i was thinking and how much trouble she can get- which mind you i calling the insurance to inform this next. read more

My sister recommended me to go access dental group which is in queens crossing mall at main st. I had a appointmemt in the evening ,when i got there ,I was taken a x Ray first ,and the doctor told me that I have 3 cavities,the doctor told me that should fill 3 at the same time .but I just want to fill 1cavity this time ,because my insurance is still processing. The receptionists were so RUDE. I was discussing with my wife what to do the receptionist told us to go outside to talk, at the same time glaring at us.let us feel very uncomfortable . What I look for in a dental office is simple. Cleanliness and caring dentists. The office was top notch with a cozy and friendly environment from the moment I step in. I actually did not have any problem with the receptionist at all. Then came the dentist I saw, he explained everything in detail. If there was anything that I didn't understand he would clarify what needed to be done. He provided different treatment options and advised me the risk and benefits so I can choose the right one for myself. Overall this is a great place I would highly recommend it. read more

This is the second time I'm here at this dental office. First time was just a teeth cleansing it was pretty quick but I guess maybe because my appointment was like close to the closing time so they just wanted to rush me and leave. So I decided to come back since it was a pretty clean dental place. So I had an appointment today to take out my wisdom teeth , the wait was like an hour after I had an appointment book beforehand 4months it still took an hour to wait to just get in the room. Then finally in the room they say I can't get it remove today because they didn't do the insurance authorization. I was so amazed they have my appointment book but didn't do the approval beforehand. I think it was just a waste of time and they must lack experience because I work in medical too and definitely we don't handle things like this. Pretty irresponsible! Won't come back for sure ! I feel the need to express my thoughts about this dental practice. One day I felt on the street and chipped 3/4 of the front tooth, along with the tooth next to it. When I thought I can never go out again, I immediately went to Dr. Cheung. He comforted me and said don't worry, he will fix my teeth. I fully trusted him and I know I was in good hands. Sure enough, he fixed my teeth and it was better than my own. He gave me confidence back and I was able to have a great smile again. I truly want to thank him. He is extremely professional and skillful dentist. I don't trust other practices as they try do cut corners to save money. I did a root canal in another office before I came to this practice, and to find out they just drill my tooth with a big hole and put a cotton inside, which I discover when my tooth split in half. I then truly believe you get what you pay for. I been going to this practice for few years for cleaning, filling, and whitening. Other dentists are just as skillful. Dr. Tsang is gentle, if you are afraid to visit a dentist. I have also recommended this practice to my friends, family, and co-workers. They totally agree with me and been their patients ever since. Honestly, the receptionists were nice to me, I didn't have any problems with them. Beside, I'm there to see a professional dentist that I can really trust, and the receptionists are just icing on the cake =) read more
