I came here for an emergency, as my husband is a patient. They did a nice job of handling the emergency extraction. However at the time I paid for the extraction, bone graft, and implant IN FULL, despite having 2 dental insurances. They canceled my implant appointment via test and never called to reschedule. They never billed either of my insurances, cannot provide me with a statement of account for the last 5 hours. I will not do business here again. I am currently trying to get a refund for the $1000 they have on deposit for the services I will not use. read more

If I could I would give negative stars. Receptionists do not speak proper english and I have called several times to make an appointment. They take my insurance but they keep saying they cant find me. I called my insurance several times and they told me this dental office takes it. Was also on a conference call with my insurance and the dental office and they hung up on us. Just cancelled the whole family appoint since the workers kept giving go-no-go information. First they said they didn't get approval from the insurance when my son had his cavity done, then they confirm that he is under my husband's plan and its good to continue, and now last minute they said the insurance issues isn't handled yet and he cant come in. We changed the previous dentist bc its too far but now with this one so many issues and bad communication. guess we need to look for another one that actually knows how to work. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Loh this past Monday, June 15, 2020, for a wisdom tooth extraction. It was my first medical/dental in-office visit since NYC PAUSE directive went into effect in March 2020. The office takes measures against COVID via confirming appointment via text (as usual), requiring an on-line questionnaire on COVID symptoms prior to appointment, requiring a second in-office questionnaire, and taking forehead temperature in-office prior to consult/procedure. The waiting room was moved around for limited seating arrangement. There was one patient heading out as I entered, none in the waiting room. Extraction went smoothly. Dr. Loh uses topical anesthetic prior to injecting novocaine; not all dentists do this from my experience. I recommend! read more

This dental facility is horrible! They will not give referrals! They cut my mouth while doing a teeth cleaning and only cleaned the bottom half of each tooth! I can see exactly where they stopped cleaning! The secretary is 1000% incompetent and does not understand anything that is said . I also called multiple times and they spoke to me, i asked a question and they hung up the phone. 3 times! The most professional dentists ever. Dr. LOH is very honest and patient. He always spend his time examining patients teeth and performing the procedure carefully. Everytime when I starting to getting nervous with procedure for taking too long such as multiple fillings so he tell to raise my hand and take a break if needed. Also Dr.Loh is very honest. He never overcharge his patient and he never perform any unnecessary procedure. Prior to seeing Dr.Loh, I had a dentist told me, I needed a root canal and tried to convince me for a tooth implant. I happened upon this dental office by accident. The office is clean and the staff is efficient. The receptionist is thorough as was the woman who took my X-rays. The only issue I have is that there is no warmth or welcoming feeling. Going to the dentist is never fun and I personally would have liked a more welcoming feeling but then again it could be a cultural difference as this office is all Asian. As for the doctor, to my surprise he did my cleaning and exam. I thought there would be a hygienist. He did a very good job as well but never introduced himself. I had to ask him his name and that's how I found out he was the dentist and not the hygienist. He didn't talk much and as I asked questions he answered in a friendly manner but didn't say much or expound upon my inquiries. If you don't care about the little niceties from your experience then this is your place otherwise keep looking. read more

Found this office through a friend. I was wary of changing dentists already, but since this one was closer to me, I gave it a shot and am glad I did. The dentist is very friendly and caring about your needs/questions. He explains everything in detail and is gentle during the procedures (very important when you're adverse to pain lol). Also important is that they take you at your scheduled appointment without a long wait, but they also expect you to show up on time. Last year visiting the dentist with my ,then 4 year old. was near impossible. She cried and cried and refused to open up . This year , we found Dream Dental and thank god! The receptionist/assistant worked her magic to get my daughter relaxed and gave her a mirror so she could see what was going on. Totally a breeze! And me? I've had awful and painful cleanings that left me hurting for days! But Dr.Loh was very thorough but gentle. Came here for an annual visit - first time. Making an appointment was easy... got to my appointment 20 mins late, I called ahead to let them know I was on my way. The woman who answered the phone sounded as if I shouldn't come in since I'm late. However, I got there and she was very pleasant and helpful. She was the only one there for help, now I understand why she sounded as she did on the phone. Dr. Loh came and ask how I was, they took X-Rays and asked if anything was bothering me. I was only there for routine check up, no big deal. 20 mins of cleaning, I was done. Thorough and fast... will definitely be back again. The office is well organized and very clean. The dental assistance who also set up the appointment for my family & I was very attentive. I visited the first time about 2 weeks ago. I enjoyed the check up experience very much. Dr. Loh is quite thorough as a general care dentist. He took the extra time for any questions afterward. The office traffic is quite light and professional. That is why I also brought my children there. Usually my daughter is fearful of just any doctor touching her teeth. Avoid this place! Worst receptionist! My insurance allows twice check up per calendar year. Last week I was trying to schedule our 2nd check up, The receptionist first told me my insurance wouldn't pay them if the check up is not six months and a day apart. (Our last visit was late June and early July), I explained we will be out of town the end of December and I even called my insurance to verify if there is such limitation (6 months and a day)!!! My insurance reassured me there is no such limitation. I can even have two check up within a month if I want. So I called her back and she then telling me someone has the same insurance company as mine and they didn't get paid. WTH. It's someone! Not ours okay!? I told her my insurance guaranteed payments and then there she goes. "IT's OUR OFFICE POLICY!" That it has to be six months and a day apart between visits!! And I told her we will be out of town and see if she can work something coz they are our Primary and there is no one else we can go to. She then mentioned my insurance allows us to change the dentist and be effective the same day. Seriously?? You rather make up all the "policy" and told me to change another dentist than taking our appointment?? She finally agreed to ask the dentist and told me to call back!! By then I lost my trust to this place totally--for keep changing reasons of not taking my appointments! Just avoid this place totally!! The incident reminded me the first visit we had 12 months ago. They kept saying the insurance is not paying them and bah bah bah while I showed her their office is our primary dentist and insurance also confirmed that. If you don't know how to handle insurance billing! Hire someone that is competent of doing the job! Btw, The dentist wasn't that friendly to kids anyway, yes thanks for reminding us we could change to another dentist which I'm glad we did. We have completed all our cleanings and walked out with great smile at somewhere else today!!!! I was searching online for a nearby dentist close to my home instead of having to drive all the way to manhattan. I found this place on yelp and I had made an appointment with the receptionist over the phone and had asked her if she could check if my insurance was eligible. Not many dentists accepted my insurance because they weren't partnered with them. The receptionist was super nice and patient. She had helped me with all my questions I had. The day I went to get my teeth cleaned, everything really went well! The receptionist was nice as usual and the dentist made it a really quick process and cleaned my teeth really well. Dr. Sunhoon Loh is a very good dentist. I went in for my semi-annual checkup. I always fear dentist as I don't take the best care of my teeth (too lazy to floss). I explained my fears and apprehension to Dr Loh and he told me no problem. He even kidded that the bigger the guys - the bigger the babies. Which I admit, is totally me. He started the process and was quite gentle. I've experienced other dentists in the area, and Dr. Loh has been the most gentle. There were still times when it did hurt but not nearly as much nor as many times as with other dentist. But again, I admit to being one of those big babies. Final outcome - I will be coming back for my next checkup. Just to add - there are parking spots in front of his practice but I chose for street parking. I was able to find quite a few spots considering we were only 1 block south of Northern blvd. Esther his dental assistant/receptionist was very friendly and attentive. After changing insurances, I found it frustratingly difficult and inefficient to find a new, local dentist in my Medicaid network without knowing any word-of-mouth referrals, and without multiple patient positive ratings online on the typical doctor sites. So if you're in the same situation, I highly recommend Dr. Loh (FYI, he's a male dentist). I took the risk based on the few ratings here, and I'm pleased to say Dr. Loh indeed seems to be an extremely competent, knowledgeable, thorough, and experienced dentist who is also fast and efficient. I was especially pleased with his very gentle, focused touch while working, as if he was a sculptor. The work I required did not entail much pain, but he seems he would be careful to minimize pain as needed. He is very attentive, kind, and responsive to my questions. His assistant was also extremely pleasant, super-accommodating, and made it very easy to find the multiple appointments needed to fit my schedule on very short notice and to ensure all was covered by insurance. While the office is in a storefront, it was very clean and comfortable. I plan to use him again. Btw, out of 5 visits, wait times were virtually none.
