Why have I not been here sooner?! A friend d who lives close by has mentioned Louisiana joes and I…read morecould kick myself for not coming here immediately! Louisiana joes looks like a small sandwich shop from the outside but inside it is a flavor factory. The staff was so warm and welcoming and were so helpful. We tried the pork sandwich, jambalaya and the Mac and cheese. There are so many great menu options, it was hard to choose. The jambalaya features shrimp, chicken and sausage. So flavorful and the portion size was excellent for the price. The pork sandwich was delicious - pork was super tender. But the star of the show - the Mac and cheese. We are Mac and cheese lovers and try it everywhere. Well congrats, Louisiana joes. You've officially taken the top spot for cheesy deliciousness. I just regret that we didn't add a protein. I wish they were open daily and had longer hours but I also love that they're not because the staff can have lives outside of work. Cannot wait to go back and try more!!!

I have yet to be disappointed by Louisiana Joe's Sandwich Shop. Everything thus far (*ahem 2…read moreitems*) has been flavorful and has opened my taste buds to wanting to try more. The first time I went here, I ordered their shrimp and grits. Simply put, it's delicious. I've been back a couple times just for that. On this visit, based off another Yelpers review, I decided to give the grilled cheese with the beef brisket a try. Sandwiched between two toasted and I want to say buttered (don't quote me on this) brioche sliced breads with Provolone cheese melted on the bottom half and cheddar oozing out on the top half is the perfectly tender and healthy serving of seasoned beef brisket. I had to eat it as soon as I got it to savor in the moment and experience it in its true form. Hot and cheesy. The two cheeses brought the sandwich together nicely creating a savory dance on your tongue. The cheese literally oozes out with eat bite. As good as it was, I know it will not be a frequent meal to grace my belly, because personally, it's just too much meat *for me*. Considering this, I ate the whole sandwich in one sitting. I'm not usually a brisket person, but I was willing to give this one a try. Cheese, meat, and bread, sign me up. It is a lot to eat as far as the meat is concerned, so if you're not a crazy meat eater, don't be surprised if you only have room to eat half if not one full slice. I also wanted to try their corn nuggets, which looks like fried corn bread but rolled into a ball, but they didn't have it that day. I left feeling a little deflated at that, but my belly was full. I doubt whether I would have been able to eat that along with my shrimp and grits. Note: the longer you wait to eat it, the Colder it gets and its not as good as the first couple of bites *IMO* When the mood hits, I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

I ordered salmon and sweet potato fries, which you can skip, the salmon was a little over cooked and nothing to write home about. The boyfriend loved his burger, I think it came with caramelized onions and maybe blue or goat cheese. The apple pie with ice cream was on point. But forget all that. The thing that I still think about, the thing I tell people in the city about, is the epic, gigantic, fried appetizer sampler platter. You know when you see something that was just meant for you? Like someone made this with me in mind. I was so happy. You get like 6 mozzarella sticks, fried onion rings, fried zucchini sticks, and fried calamari. It comes with a white sauce I completely ignored- our waitress was extremely patient as I ordered not one, or two, but three sides of marinara, the third they finally brought out in a gravy boat like I had tried to convince them to do in the first place :P It's just so big and happy! The platter can easily fill three hungry people with large appetites, especially if you're also getting full entrees. I'm just a sucker for these samplers when they're done well, and this was excellent. Nicely seasoned batter that always adhered to the food it encased, the insides were not lava, they did not fall apart. The oil they used was fresh, the calamari tender. Is there a food challenge where I can try to eat one of these solo in a certain amount of time? If not there should be!

Usually get the weekend special (which you can get any day of the week!) which is more than enough. Garlic butter with seasoning, with or without some mild spice is great. And the Cajun fries so good! The place is a little quirky, but the staff is always so nice. And they are always playing really good music! Always a great time. Check it out!

The restaurant itself appeared well worn but clean. We ended up in their iconic boat which was fun. The amount of food in each boil bag was astonishing. Our orders ranged from just garlic butter with no spice to extra Cajun spicy sauce. The seafood was cooked perfectly. Our party ordered the different specials with extra sides of corn and potatoes. The Weekend special combo was lobster (1), 1/2 # shrimp and 1/2# snow crab. The Wednesday special was just enough with 1# shrimp and 1/2# snow crab. (5) different sauces to choose from. Donned with our bibs and gloves we dove right in. Two of our party ordered the Cajun Shrimp fried rice which for a seafood place was excellent. Our two youngest ordered the chicken tenders and they were happy. Pina coladas, soft drinks rounded out our drink orders. Good food, pricing was pretty reasonable. As usual, I also rate restaurant restrooms. Fair for cleanliness.

I'm addicted to the wings, the prices are good and they provide a lot of options. The wings I've had are always fresh, which I appreciate. Walking in, we were greeted by music playing, St. Patty's decorations being hung, a lively bar with people seated, and plenty of basketball games on the TVs. Our server, Camila, greeted us like old friends, setting the tone for a fantastic night--one I'd happily repeat again and again. Between our group, we ordered a few dozen wings. Everyone opted for naked wings with sauce on the side for dipping. A dear friend once taught me, "When in Rome," so I followed suit and went for naked wings with sauce on the side. They offered about 20 different sauces, but the honey garlic called my name. Others ordered sweet chili, Asian garlic, kicking bourbon, and mango habanero. We also shared a side of onion rings and disco fries. As we talked and laughed, Camila kept the drinks coming and even changed the games on the TVs for us. The real sleeper hit of any good bar is the music, and Elsie Lane did not disappoint. The playlist jumped between genres--movie soundtracks, trap music, old-school hip-hop, '70s soft rock, and so much more I'm forgetting. If you zoned out for a moment, you might suddenly hear merengue playing when you stared paying attention. It was fantastic! When the food arrived, it absolutely delivered. The volume at our table dropped as we dug into the delicious spread. The wings were perfectly crispy and naked, great on their own but even better with the sauces. I was blown away by how good they were, though I was quickly stuffed after six wings and picking at the onion rings. The onion rings were fried to a satisfying crunch, and the dipping sauce paired perfectly. By the end of the night, nothing was left but full bellies and another great memory of training and dinner with the boys. This spot deserves the love, especially for those wings! I'm absolutely coming back to try the rest of the menu--the burgers looked incredible. 5/5 stars, and a special shoutout to Camila for her 5/5 star service!

The menu is extensive and offered so many things that we wanted to try, so we did and shared. Buffalo wings - spicy, hot and delicious. Left us licking our fingers (good thing there was no one else seated upstairs at that time); Chicken whiskey club and hot roast beef sandwiches - served on your choice of bread with cole slaw, pickle chips and choice of one hot side dish (we ordered the roasted sweet potato (which was amazing!) and mashed potatoes with gravy); 1/2 wood-smoked Chicken dinner - comes with pickle chips, pickled red onion (whenever something came with pickled red onion, I called dibs on the onions) and choice of one hot and one cold side dish; House Burger - chargrilled, and billed as containing fresh ground brisket and short rib, and served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, thousand island dressing (could have done without the dressing or having it on the side), cole slaw, pickle chips and one hot side (pit-smoked beans); Asian BBQ Crunch (a salad, I know, who orders a salad in a BBQ joint (okay, this isn't a "joint")?) - contains grilled chicken and the greens and other veggies tasted fresh and crunchy. The dressing, a sesame ginger vinaigrette, was tasty and not cloyingly sweet; Korean BBQ Beef Rice Bowl - looked delicious, but I didn't have a chance to sample it. Other dishes were ordered and a dessert (too stuffed to try the dessert), and the bill was not astronomical. Definitely a keeper for kosher and/or smokehouse-craving dining.
