I thought I'd help a local restaurant and this is what I got! I ordered through Postmates and I called the restaurant to get the issue resolved. It's supposed to be their pizza with pepperoni, salami, sausage, mushrooms, olives then I added bell pepper and onions. The manager, with the name of Ella said that there's nothing she can do about it and told me to contact Postmates. My guests and I were so impressed with the cleanness and service from this restaurant. Cesar our server was outstanding and hustling to keep our tables clean. So i went and got the medium family deal for $26.59,i told the cashier i wanted sausage plus i wanted to add all the veggies,he told me it was $2.50 more so i ordered it. I went to sit down & was looking at my receipt & not only did he charge me for the sausage($1.50) which was included with the pizza but it was $4.00 for the veggies so i just let it go. Here comes my pizza and as i got a slice all the veggies fell out,they literally just threw them in there after the pizza was done. Let me start off by saying I Love Shakeys Pizza and have always loved them since a kid...despite the decline in quality over the years... But this review is specific to the Downey Shakeys on Paramount. I came in today to enjoy my favorite pizza while watching game one of the NLDS Dodgers game...I arrive horrified to find the game only being shown on the smallest TVs there. I had to request to put the game on the one big screen they had. Then I had to request them to turn the sound on because for some reason they think playoff baseball sounds good with wonky music playing as a backdrop. After the 4th attempt sometime during the fifth inning the volume of the game was finally raised. Anyways the food...my pizza came out with little-to no cheese and about three pepperoni. I asked the lady that brought it out if they forgot the cheese and sauce and she laughed and said "that's what I said". I told her to take it back and make me one with cheese. After about 20 mins of waiting for the replacement pizza...I glanced over to see it sitting, waiting to be served. After about ten minutes of watching the workers pass by it with no regard I finally went up and asked if I could have my pizza. The workers scrambled, looked confused and tried to figure out if the pizza was mine. After about five minutes they determined that it was indeed a replacement pizza for me and handed it to me. Of course by then the pizza was cold and the cheese that was once not there, was now solid instead of guey. Man how do you f'up a good thing like Shakeys pizza and a Dodger playoff game? This place is definitely known for its chicken and mojo fries!! Pizza NO!! Salad Noooo!!! If you want a good pizza and salad I would suggest keep searching. I don't know why I even bothered to spend $6.99 on a salad bar that had wilted lettuce, very limited topping and the cherry tomatoes tasted as if they had been soaked in vinegar! I will definitely need to be on a desperate mode to return. This was my second chance for this salad bar and I know they say third times a charm but not going to find out! I like shakeys food. But the service here sucked. There was one family already eating after we ordered. People were getting take out but it wasn't really busy. My son and I waited for over half an hour for individual PCM and mini pizza. Then she forgot our drinks, we waited for so long for her to bring us the BOTTLED drinks that I eventually went inside to get them before I choked on my food. It was a pain. Reservation system - 0 Stars Not too familiar with this location so me and my family came to inquire about a birthday reservation for a Saturday. The employee said it's all based on availability (a first come/first served) kinda deal. We weren't not too keen on that so we changed our minds. Customer Service - Zero Stars Anyhow since we were there we decided to have some pizza. Again, we're not too familiar with Shakeys, particularly their menu, so we ordered an 8 slice thinking that'd be enough for us (family of 3). The cashier didn't even warn us of how small it actually was until she brought it to our table. What a joke. We would've appreciated a recommendation of a larger size knowing we are a family, but she didn't say anything and just took our order. Nearly $16 for a child soda and one adult soda!! A rip off. It's not about upsizing the customer, it's about customer satisfaction, and this location doesn't seem to care about customer satisfaction. I live in Downey and go to this Shakeys location often. I usually call in my order for a personal for my daughter. Well, this time I called in the medium special for $15.99 and it wasn't ready when I arrived and paid. As I was waiting I did notice they were short handed. The manager lady was there, a male and female cooking, 1 register male, and 1 male taking orders to customers at the tables. I witnessed my order sitting on the counter for almost 20 minutes and finally calmly asked the register employee if I'm allowed to grab my own order that's been sitting right there. He was super rude, I had never seen this employee before since I go kind of often for my kid's order. I waited for him to help 3 new families in line that came way after me to even respond to my question. I waited patiently since I know they'll probably see my face later that week picking up another order. When he finally stopped to get my order after it was sitting there for 40 minutes now, he just handed me my medium pizza and mojos carton without a bag or condiments. Like I said I go often and have never seen this employee before also, my to go orders are always in a bag complete with condiments. Fast forward 4 days and my kid wants a personal pizza. I had to explain that the customer service was not what it used to be despite the good food and we won't be using the Downey location any more. If management or whomever it may concern is going to send me a generic yelp response that they will contact me for more information, don't bother unless it comes with a coupon for a free meal to get me back in the door to your location. read more
