The butter pecan was delicious, so many pecans. Reasonable prices for great ice cream!

Can't say anything negative about this place. The ice cream is great, the service is always quick, and they have plenty of cute seating inside and out. Can't go wrong! read more

Friendly service - good prices - love trying different flavors, and taking home a few quarts

Local ice cream does not get any better than this. Top Notch service, so many varieties to choose from but can be disappointed when they are out of your favorite flavor maybe just grab a quart in the self serve freezer to take home. Love supporting local. read more

Great hard ice-cream, prices are amazing compared to many places, staff is always pleasant. The actual store is always clean and feels home like. read more

Found this yummy place in a drive by. Well I did have to pull a u-ey to get to the most amazing place. They had a great selection of ice creams and frozen yogurts. Their prices are super reasonable and the sizes are HUGE. The staff working their is friendly and energetic and is helpful in making a selection. It was so good that we went 2x in 6 days . I had raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt and the hubby had the chocolate peanut butter. Both were so so creamy. You'd never know that I was eating frozen yogurt. Well worth the trip. It is now a favorite "let's go for a ride" ice cream stop for us read more

Creamiest ice cream I've ever had, large variety of flavors, friendly staff great service!

Great staff, quick service, quality ice cream, neighborhood location, clean establishment

Best ice cream. Ever. They even have sugar free. My father-in-law lived their sugar free blueberry ice cream the best.

Enjoyed ice cream with my family, at same time my wife and son were told no bathrooms just shortly after we spent a fair amount on icecream for 5- which seams not legal per ME law, given business not being old enough to be grandfathered in (maybe misunderstanding , however I don't recall seeing an obvious bathroom.) *** note: I was just told there was a sign even saying sorry no bathroom for customers*** read more

This is a great place to stop for homemade ice cream, located along Route 202 in Alfred. Shaker Pond Ice Cream offers over 50 flavors of hard ice cream and frozen yogurt in cones & dishes, sundaes, and other treats. Kiddie size cones/dishes are offered here for $2 (including tax), and it's a good size too. You place your order inside the shop. There's seating inside and picnic tables outside. I stopped in here for ice cream on a fairly busy and warm Saturday evening, packed with people of all ages from little kids and families to senior citizens getting their ice cream fix. The shop ran out of a few of the popular flavors (marked with a frown symbol on the menu board). I got a kiddie dish of the Alfred Tracks (vanilla-chocolate swirl ice cream packed with peanut butter cups) which was a great choice. The ice cream was really good and had a creamy cold texture and packed with lots of peanut butter cup pieces. That was a nice refreshing treat for my drive through Southwest Maine. I LOVE ice cream and this one is top notch. If you like cookie dough a try the ice cream!

My favorite ice cream of all time! Black raspberry chocolate chunk. They have a creative selection of ice cream and yogurt flavors. They are always hustling because you have a great product people want it. Hands down the best! read more

Great ice cream! In tonight and it was packed! The girls were working hard to get the orders out but they were overwhelmed and seemed to be lacking a good system to keep customers orders organized and out together. Overall great ice cream and they are trying their hardest to do a great job but a good ordering process is needed. read more

Delicious ice cream, huge menu, sometimes they're out of a flavor but there's something for everyone! Very accommodating to nut allergies too and the portions are massive. Highly recommend! read more

I'm a big fan of your ice cream. My favorite thing is the waffle cones. They're super delicious. Your ice cream is the bomb. I like how you can buy it by the pint and bring it home. If you're going to a party make sure you bring some of their ice cream and don't forget the waffle cones! Dear owner, Could you make a bacon brownie flavor? I've made bacon brownies before and they're the best thing ever. (By the way I'm not talking about pot brownies. I'm talking about brownies with bacon in them.) read more

Ok. I was all hyped up and bent out of shape because I have been wanting to try their ice cream for over a year but never made it out. I finally did last weekend and I was SO LET DOWN. Not by service, not by quantity, but by quality. The girls who work there are so friendly, patient and willing to make their customers happy. I commend this business for hiring friendly girls who don't make you feel weird when they want to try a few flavors. BUT, when I finally decided on my old faithful flavor in most ice cream shops, the kiddie coffee heath bar in a plain cone was a let down. THERE WAS NO HEATH BAR IN MY ICE CREAM. I'm sorry. I don't mean to yell, but I thought maybe it is a fluke. But my mothers cherry vanilla had ONE and I repeat ONE cherry in it and she had the single scoop size. Twice a mistake? I don't know. I thought the coffee flavor was OK, but not strong enough to my liking. I just think if I'm paying a little bit more than their competitor *coughShainscough* that it should be on par, if not superior. It was not. Their kiddie cone is 2.25, versus Shain's at $1.95 and I can even say Shain's portions are bigger. I'm still on the Shain's bandwagon, I wasn't swayed by Shaker Pond. read more

Nice young ladies at the front counter. Big ice cream scoops, flavorful waffle cones and a multitude of flavors! What can I say?--it's ice cream! We loved every lick. read more

What can I say about Ice Cream! This is absolutely the best ice cream around. I have trouble with milk products but this ice cream does not upset my stomach. My two favorite flavors are mint chocolate chip and reeses overload. My husband loves the giant brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream or even better yet the traditional banana split. The black raspberry cup is another family favorite. The list just continues. Go and get you some of the best homemade ice cream around!! read more

Nice place to stop when you are out and about sight seeing. Ice cream was very creamy and so delicious that I needed seconds. Flavors were so many to chose from. read more

I liked the coffee Heathbar with hot fudge!!

It's dangerous having this place so close to me! We love coming in and grabbing quarts of our favorite ice creams to stash in the freezer. They're cheaper and fresher than what you'll find in the grocery stores around New England and the kids working the counter are all great. read more

Generally, the ice cream is very good and well enjoyed. In all past cases we would eat there, however due to covid, yesterday I picked up 2 quarts of ice cream for my wife and I. When we went to eat some in the evening, we found one quart was completely crystalized and for sure a disappointment. This does raise concerns on the quality of any future purchases. read more

Portions are huge,,this is your stop when you crave good homemade ice cream. Too many flavors it'll make your head spin. Their French vanilla is particularly good. And I love their almond joy...a great mixture of vanilla infused coconut ice cream with spreddings of coconut, nuts, and chocolate chips. They even have whoopie pie ice cream, which is amazing! Cons: My favorite ice cream in the world is cookie dough, I've never "met" a cookie dough I didn't like, until I tried shaker pond years ago. Something about it tastes sickening. Downfall for me. Also they don't offer blizzards. And their brownie sundaes only come in one size and I'm sure its bigger than my face (exaggeration..but its huge!) Finale: Moving on, you can call ahead to have a homemade customized ice cream pie made, which are delicious! Also they sell already made ones at their store, along with selected flavors of their ice cream in tubs. However, hannafords in Maine sell them too. Owners are funny and gracious...used to be at shaines ice cream before the creation of shaker p. Store in sanford too. Open year round. Go get yours. read more

This place really is a hit or miss when it comes to the quality of service. Either the staff is really friendly and attentive or they just uninterested and preoccupied. I visited this location tonight and while their ice cream was fantastic and there were no issues with service, I was disappointed by the ratio of ice cream to ice cream cone. My sister and I each got two scoops on a cone and somehow we had more than half of our cones left by the time we finished our ice cream. After paying over $1.50 extra for each cone, it would have been nice to just have some ice cream to go along with it. read more

Shaker Pond has the best ice cream around . It's priced well and the employees are always great.

Really really enjoy the Alfred Tracks! Vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirl and peanut butter cups! Love it. Servings are good. Prices are also good. Gets busy. My favorite flavor is chocolate but their chocolate is just a bit too chocolate-y. That's why I only gave 4 star rating. read more

BEST ice cream around. Friendly staff. Coffee cookie is my favorite!

Hands down the best place for HOMEMADE Ice Cream in Southern Maine. I'll take it in a waffle cone please.

Our favorite ice cream spot. It has large portion sizes and a lower cost than Martels in Saco. It tastes fresher and tastes better because it has more mix ins or flavoring. Its creamy and there are many desserts to choose from. They make it in house. Stays open all year long too!! Outdoor picnic tables and inside tables. I get a kiddie for $2 and am satisfied. The whole family is always under $10 and happy. You probably couldn't eat a large. read more
