Came in and the vibes were so chill. I love the green and leafy decor. The swing seating is so comfy and aesthetic. They have drinks and food. There is outdoor seating with heaters, and lots of indoor seating. Staff were cordial and polite. I was super impressed by their bathrooms. Ok, this was my first time there and got say the tropical vibes were not my thing. When it comes to beer selection, I wished they had at least one Kind of Mexican Lager! There were no Corona, Pacifico or modelo, ashamed to say but not even Budlight! Ands that's disappointing, but it's ok because that is water to me anyway. Now, on the positive side their customers service was excellent and attentive. Bar guys on point when making mix drinks. ( too bad I don't like mix drinks) no problem instead I got to tried their lager and IPA beer and they were alright. I am not a big fan of IPA flavor beer but I am not complaining either. For example, the Pina colada had a myriad of ingredients and blended right in front of my eyes! (NOT the ready made slushie type drink!) Wait, crunchie black specks, it's coffee beans. A bit pricey but compared to other bars similarly priced in sb this place is much better. Bummer. Love Test Pilot and The Good Lion so had high hope for this. But Shaker Mill couldn't be more corporate and soulless if it tried. Our bartender (the one that had been there for a while but was quitting his job soon) was barely human. Maybe he was over it here and that's why he was quitting. He made us two drinks, one of them being the miniature Pina Colada. Do not order this if you want to feel anything on your brain, BTW. I'm not someone who needs their drink to be large but this is one drink that needs to be served in a larger glass. This Pina Colada is laughably small and just no fun. I even spiked it with a float of Hamilton and it was still light on booze. A loser of a drink. We decided to cut our losses and go to dinner. read more

The vibe was pretty nice here. I liked the lighting and there were people all around. They had both food and drinks so that was pretty nice. The bartenders also make the drinks in front of you so that is really cool. However, I got the mango lassi and it didn't taste like a mango lassi at all. Since there was so little liquid, the alcohol took over the entire drink and it tasted entirely like alcohol and literally no mango. So I definitely wouldn't recommend the mango lassi specifically. My friends liked their drinks though. read more

I am glad I came by I was able to get some of the last apple cider drinks. The service was really good. He was about to serve a hot chocolate but he said he couldn't because there was big chunks in it. The ambiance was really well decorated in here with Halloween and Christmas together. The menu is a QR code that you scan and they provide hand sanitizer at the front I ordered the Mango Lassi and it was probably my favorite drink of the night. Super refreshing and light but on the smaller side. My friends ordered the Hemingway? and the oceanside. I tried them and personally they weren't to my liking. It honestly just tasted like alcohol and seltzer to me We ordered the Miami Vice too and it was HUGE. The waiter warned us it was meant for two but I thought I'd be okay drinking it on my own. well, I was wrong! I was able to finish it but man...it was strong. They didn't actually mix the pina colada and strawberry daiquiri super well so I mixed it myself and it tasted pretty good after! they use paper straws which was actually a bit difficult in the Miami Vice but it was fine in the other drinks. the price was standard but they don't have happy hour. cubaneo is in the same area/building so if you're looking for a bite, you can order from them read more

But the menus are separate QR codes and you have to pay separate checks so it's a little inconvenient but not a big deal. Staff are super friendly! I got a Coconut Horchata. It was incredibly tasty - but the glass was tiny for the price they charge - and it was full of ice so hardly any actual drink. The food at Cubaneo is incredible so I'll definitely be back for that, but wouldn't order another drink bc they're very pricey! My tiny horchata was like $6! I can't speak to the alcoholic beverages- they had some nice-sounding ones and their prices were a tad better for those. Parking is street parking and there seems to be plenty. I think there are also some public garages nearby as it's within walking distance of the pedestrian shopping area. read more

After spending the afternoon in the Funk Zone, we made our way up State Street to get drinks at Shaker Mill. We had a good experience at their sister location Test Pilot (both are managed by Good Lion Hospitality), so we decided to give this Cuban-themed cocktail bar a try. It's located inside the Kim's Service Department building, which is a mixed-use space. Parking is available in the surrounding streets, and there's also public lots/garages nearby. You can sit outside on the front patio, in the bar area, or at the tables near Cubaneo. There's another business towards the back called Modern Times, which is a craft beer place. The atmosphere is slightly rustic, with a mostly tropical theme. Plants, ornamental light fixtures, garage doors as windows, and exposed wooden beams make the space feel industrial, yet cozy at the same time. Cubaneo's menu consists of sandwiches, sides, and other Cuban plates. Shaker Mill serves wine, beer, cocktails, and a few non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered chips with guac for the table, which were nicely hot and freshly made. Since I had a long drive after, I decided to get the boozeless Seasonal Shrub Soft Cocktail. It was light, refreshing, and well-crafted! Everyone in our group enjoyed their drinks, and we had a great time socializing.
