One thing to note is that Osteria da Rita dal 1991 does NOT take reservations under any circumstance and is walk in only. I tried to go through the local 5 star hotel concierge at our resort and they didn't have access, and I also tried to secure reservations myself (I work for a high end travel/concierge company) and also was unsuccessful myself. But now, I understand why after going there. When you walk up, try to go towards the start of their dinner hours to get in line for a standby table. As tables "turn" the next table in the line is seated, that way everyone at the restaurant is treated fairly and is seated as tables are available. There were people in line with us that had dined there 2 or 3 times for dinner during their vacation, so we knew we were in for a treat because dining in Taormina is absolutely outstanding! Right across from the line queue, there in a gelato shop with a takeaway bar that sells wine, beer, and alcoholic drinks that you can take into the line while you wait for your table. At the time of our visit in June 2025, we were able to get a bottle of wine for 15 Euros that we drank while waiting on our table for about an hour to an hour and a half. When we were seated, we were greeted warmly by restaurant staff and they brought over the menus and complimentary bread and bruschetta. We also ordered the bottle of house wine to start as well and it was really good! For starters, we ordered the Spaghetti da Za Rita (15 Euros) and the Lasagna al Ragu (15 Euros). Both had homemade pasta and the quality was out of this world, everything was super fresh. For the entree we ordered the Lemon Flavored Meatballs (16 Euros) and these were out of this world, also very fresh and an amazing main course to share! We were full by the time we got through with dinner, so we didn't order any dessert but all of the desserts looked amazing! They did bring over a complimentary shot of limoncello to close the meal which was also greatly appreciated as well! It's truly an amazing restaurant and a must try spot if you're in Taormina!

Right off the bat they tell you this is a fish restaurant and that the menu changes weekly. You can see the fresh fish of the day as is is brought to you table side and is priced based on the kilo. My wife and I ordered a starter, pasta and fish to share which was more than enough food for the two. We also had a glass of wine which wasn't a house wine but essentially picked based on our preference. We ended up getting the raw starter which included raw shrimp, langastinos, oyster, amberjack carpaccio and white tuna tartare. Then we had a seafood pasta with finally a fillet of amberjack served with broccoli and some mashed potatoes. All in with wine the bill came to about $150 euro. Also the bread was excellent and freshly made in house, it's charged to the table but honestly worth the $3 per person.

The staff and the Italian hospitality delivers throughout our stay. The planning / correspondence with the concierge was great. I have all the meals and activities planned out about 2 weeks ahead of my stay. Recommend to also arrange your pick up from the airport (we regrettably did not - and the taxi ride was 180 Euro, more than a Four Seasons pick up in a Mercedes. We have the sea-view premium room with a terrace, which costs a fortune but the view is just the killer. The terrace is good size so it is very practical / functional to sit on the balcony, have a drink and soak in that panoramic view of the sea. We opt to venture out to a private tour organized by the hotel: horse back riding on Mount Edna, follow by a lunch and wine tasting at the winery in the area. The logistic was flawless, driver super professional, the view of Mount Edna on the horse back was fantastic, what a great combo of activities. Pool staff at the hotel is top notch, the call button on each table is the modern world way to receive the world class service of the Four Seasons. The current decor in the pool area are all Dolce & Gabbana Casa, very over the top! Even the Granita cart is Dolce & Gabbana, oh yes it is! We had lunch at the restaurant closer to the pool (Anciovi), serving seasonal Sicilian seafood dishes, fresh seafood pastas, seafood salads and fish. Book in advance for to sit next to the beautiful view. The hotel is timeless, the only complain (is any) is there is no adult only pool, so if you are allergic to screaming kids like myself.... But the timeless decor and world class service more than compensate for that.

**SCAM ARTIST ALERT** Spoiler Alert: The chef called one of…read moreour guests a whore at the end of our meal and was not going to give us our 13 Euros in change. Let me start with the pros: - Good music playing outside that lured us in. - Now on to the cons: I attended Red&White on the evening of February 26, 2018 with 3 friends of mine. It was our first night in Taormina and after walking around looking for a restaurant, we were drawn to the music playing from the restaurant front. While perusing their menu outside from a good distance, a man came running to open the door and greet us. It was Gianluca, the owner. After being seated we were met with an enthused speech from Gianluca in which he told us how excited he was to have us there and how passionate he was about serving food to the public that was organic, authentic, and delicious. This was CLEARLY a lie. First, we tried ordering several different bottles of wine on the menu that we were then told were not available. While this was odd, it was only our first problem, so it wasn't too much of an issue. The real issues began when we ended up ordering. Amongst the four of us, 3 ordered pizza and 1 ordered salad. Immediately upon ordering our meals, Gianluca's temperament changed. He asked in an annoyed tone if we would like to get a starter, and we politely declined. It wasn't until we got our food that we reached the point of being appalled. The 3 pizzas were disgusting. They weren't fully cut, they were undercooked, and honestly resembled diarrhea. Additionally, specific key ingredients like basil and oregano that were supposed to be included on my pizza were not included (one single leaf was as you can see in the picture). We were all shocked when the salad that was ordered by one of us came out and was completely inedible, and clearly vegetables from a jar. After receiving our food, we were not checked on once more. For such a personable and attentive owner at the beginning of our meal, it was like a switch was flicked inside of him after we chose not to order any of his "daily specials" or other pricier items on the menu. We were completely ignored. It was not until we asked for the check that anyone came by again. We received the check and immediately paid it in Euros. We waited on our 13 Euros in change for about 10 to 15 minutes until finally one of us went to ask for our change back. She was greeted with a surprised "oh..." before they finally gave us our money - we had never said anything about wanting them to keep the extra Euros. To top it all off, on our way out of the restaurant, one of us tripped. The chef proceeded to call her a whore not knowing that she spoke Italian. I have never been so horrified and embarrassed by a restaurant experience. I wish I could describe the level of unprofessionalism that both the owner and chef displayed, and I was truly embarrassed for the people of Taormina that this joke of an owner and restaurant are trying to sell this place as "authentic, organic, and locally sourced Italian food." I am from the southern United States and have never had any Italian food there or anywhere else in the country that was as bad as this. Bonus if you made it this far: the bottle of wine we finally settled on (after the 3 bottles we asked for first weren't available) was amongst the worst red wine I've ever had, the white wine tasted like fermented apple juice, and the free bread was stale. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for the worst dining experience in Sicily. Otherwise, stay far away for the owner is simply looking to make money by selling terrible, slimy food to unsuspecting tourists. This restaurant and its reviews are proof that reviews can be bought. I encourage you to peruse these yourself so that you can get a better grasp on how fake of an establishment this is. He also told us in his enthusiastic opening speech that the restaurant had only been open for a year, when the first yelp review is 2015... Definitely a scam artist.

The menu is not too overwhelming which I found great as I was too tired to take too much time wading thru too many choices! We chose the pulpi salad (octopus) which was very refreshing with a beautiful display of greens and veggies combined with lemon, the spaghetti with king Prawns, the Macaroni with meat sauce and Pecorino, and the Sea Bream with capers, Olives and Tomato. We also had a side of Spinach. I only took away a star because I ordered Vegetable soup and got Tomato Cream soup But the real STAR of the show was the Sea Bream!!! I kept stealing tastes from hubs plate. I should have gotten THAT!! It was perfectly seasoned, all simple ingredients but on POINT and the fish SO FRESH!! Delicate flesh n so TASTY!! Cooked to Perfection!! And paired perfectly with the sautéed spinach! Our server was also SO nice and attentive. She rocked!
