Best restaurant in Taormina by far!!! We came here for dinner 3 out of the 5 nights we were staying in town because we loved it that much and can't wait to hopefully come back again one day. The food was absolutely incredible, service was impeccable, and the staff treated us as if we were family even just after our short few visits. We loved the older gentleman who was our waiter (wish we got his name), he made our experience even greater. Highly recommend the tuna carpaccio, veal Milanese, and the simple spaghetti with olive oil/garlic/chili. Great restaurant!!! read more

Never judge a book by it's cover. When we walked by this restaurant during the day, it didn't look like much. It came alive once it opened. There were white tablecloths, charming, entertaining waitstaff and a lot of Italian customers. We continued our Nero d'Avola research- wine was very moderately priced. The bread was excellent. We started off with excellent caponata and insalata caprese. Next we split a couple of orders of linguine al vongole. These clams made the other ones tasteless in comparison. They tasted briny and we got up all of the sauce with bread. The main dishes were excellent. My veal pizziaola had a rounded, harmonious sauce that was less tomato forward than previous versions. this was the best pasta I had in Sicily. I ordered the pasta with black truffles. The pasta was cooked perfectly, they dress it in a little oil and tons of black truffle shavings, so the truffles really shine in this dish. My husband got the artichoke pasta and it was creamy and delicious. If you like artichokes even a little bit you'll love this pasta. The people working there were very kind and we sat right away. We had a great bottle of white wine from Etna, suggested by the staff. This place was right by our hotel which was a little off the main strip and felt a little less touristy and more like a family spot. Definitely make your way here if you're staying in Taormina! read more

This is where the locals eat! Delicious!!! We had Caprese Salad, artichoke salad, calamari, carbonara, Milanese and ravioli.

Amazing food. Great waiters! Good wine. Busy restaurant so make reservations. This place was recommended by our hotel, the Grand Hotel Miramar. We ended up going here twice. Night one: appetizer we shared eggplant Parmesan (called parmesana in Italy, you don't say eggplant); husband had spaghetti with sardines; I had a Sicily staple called "Involtini di pesce spada" or Swordfish Rolls; thin slices of swordfish are topped with a savory breadcrumb filling, rolled up and then either baked or grilled. Night two: appetizer we split the spaghetti with tuna roe (tasty but I was expecting little round roe but instead the roe were little flat fried pieces). Next time I would opt for tuna tartar or the mixed smoked fish or a creamy pasta. Husband had the green peppercorn steak. Best ever. Came out very hot with creamy tasty peppercorn sauce and perfectly cooked med-rare. I had limone veal. Thin slices veal in a delicious lemon sauce. Our waiter spoke perfect English and took the time to help us with our choices. Prices were beyond reasonable too! read more

While having a five star lunch yesterday at a very chi chi beach front hotel in Taormina that cost a billion euros, we casually asked our very friendly waiter, "where could we go in the vicinity for a really good dinner and give our wallets a breather?" His answer was Ristorante Da Trattoria Nino. High above the beach in Taormina in the mountains above the gondola tram. We trusted this nice young mans suggestion because: #1 - he knew all about food #2 - all of the ladies at the table thought he was cute. We ate there tonight and he was right. It was very good and was quite reasonable. We did order a lot of wine which spiked our bill but all in all it was not out of control. This is primarily a seafood restaurant with a huge assortment of fresh local catches. Their first courses were wide and varied and all looked good. We settles on calamari friti and three pastas. Their mains were typical Italian seafood dishes that were all made with great care and thought. The stand out was a grilled seafood special of the night and three of the seven of us ordered. The service was exceptional and the ambiance was very quaint and comfortable. We all loved this restaurant! read more

Top service, fresh ingredients, decent prices and, most important, delicious food! We came here after a local shopkeeper recommended the place as authentic, home cooking. So good, we came here 2 nights in a row! Definitely worth listening to the daily specials and coming early, as the restaurant got packed after 8:30pm. The restaurant has a very nice, outdoor second floor dining terrace. We ate there the second night, while dining inside the main dining room on the first night. Located across from the "funivia" cablecar that brings you to down to the beach level of Taormina. Worth the trip! read more

This place is incredible. The food here is just delicious and the service is wonderful. The place is very reasonably priced and it is so perfect in so many ways. We ate here almost every meal and loved it. Even the house wine is actually very darn good here. Nino makes you feel at home and has a great sense of humor. We'll be back when we visit Taormina next to be sure. We ate a few higher end places and had some great meals at other spots but none could come close to rivaling the taste, service and soul of Nino's. read more

What a great place. My wife and I were doing some low key sightseeing around town when lunch time arrived. We Yelped nearby places and found Nino's. This is a fabulous place! The owner, Nino, is gregarious and his English is great. One reviewer had mentioned the specials were always where the money was. Was he ever correct. I had the tuna carpaccio special and it was easily the best I have ever had; somewhat thicker slices of the freshest tuna imaginable with a simple olive oil drizzle. Testimony to the fact that when you have great ingredients, less is more. I followed this with the ravioli special of shrimp and lobster. I never ever get ravioli, but this was amazing. My wife ordered off the menus, a seafood salad and a caprese salad. They were both amazing, but be warned that they are large, she could only eat a quarter of the second salad. We had a lovely lunch here. The service was excellent they made a special calamari salad for us that was tender and delicious. Pasta with oil and garlic and a mixed green salad. We were so worried about eating in a touristy spot but this place has many locals and the food was some of the best we have had in Sicily. The owner, Nino, is very sweet and fun. Very very generic; we were disappointed. A big crowd pleaser type non-sicilian menu. Pasta is far from homemade. We ordered antipasti, primi and secondi, and all of them showed up very quickly and at the same time, making us think they were not made fresh, and the taste didn't provide any evidence to the contrary either. read more

Eating at this restaurant was the best eating experience we had in all of Sicily. It was more than just the food (which was fabulous) - it was also the lively atmosphere, the friendly wait staff, and overwhelming good spirit that filled the room. There was no concept of one waiter per table there. All of the waiters take care of all of the tables, so we in fact had four charming waiters, equally interested and attentive, looking after us all evening.
