I do not understand this franchise. They have three computer screens at the counter for you to place your order. The problem is that it takes most customers several minutes to complete complete their orders. The result we had to wait about 4-5 minutes before one was free. A mystery. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. The bread was toasted but the cheese was not melted. How do they do this? The cheese fries were tasteless and soggy. We were in the mood for burgers after a run through Barnes and noble, so we stopped by. Easy to park and it wasn't very crowded. Staff was nice. One worker actually held a door open for us and smiled. Took 2 minutes to order off the self service kiosk and we had our meal in about 10 minutes. We got 2 singles, a double, 2 fries, that came to $37. THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS FOR 3 BURGERS AND 2 FRIES?? And the food was just OK. It was hot and eatable but definitely average. The service was really great, while waiting in line I was informed that I could choose to use a screen to order if I didn't want to wait in the long line + my food came out pretty quick for how busy they were. The food was good nothing special. The burger didn't really have much flavor and the strawberry peach tea had almost no sweetener in it which was disappointing. So I've been coming to this location since it first opened as it's across the street from FAU and was perfectly placed when I was in college. Shake shack has now started to do contactless orders were you have to use a kiosk to order your food which can be helpful at times however, I do miss the human interaction aspect. Every year during the summertime Shake Shack releases their hot options where you can order spicy fries or cheese fries and it comes with ranch. As Shake Shack is known for their burgers, their chicken options are very delicious as well. I decided to go with chicken nuggets today, and I'm happy I did. The 6 count nuggets were perfectly juicy, crispy, and fresh. The breading on the nuggets are more crispy than Chick-fil-A and not greasy at all. I opted in for the shack sauce for dipping and it was good but the ranch was also A1. The fries are also cooked to perfection and fresh, and with the hot seasoning if you like spicy, I definitely recommend this! And I have to say I think that Shake shack has the best crinkle fries that I've had so far. For my drink, I also ordered the dragonfruit pomegranate lemonade and it was perfect for this hot South Florida heat! It was sweet, but not overly sweet and had pieces of fruit to nibble on along side with the ice. My burger had really hard bits in it and also wasn't very hot. The price is so low that it's hard to complain.... However, the real issue I had was having to use the machine to order and pay and then be asked to tip. Who am I tipping? They left the water cups out and literally only walk a few feet to drop the food off. I had to wait in line to use the computer myself while people working there kinda hung around the kitchen. The food here is always fresh and delicious! I love the burger made with the lettuce bun and its so much more fresh and healthy. I loved the dragonfruit flavored drink because it was fresh, fruity, and sweet! I placed my order at the kiosk and it was fast and convenient. I also got my order not even 10 minutes from when I ordered. It was so amazing, and the food was well worth the price as well. I came on a Friday afternoon that was relatively hot, so there wasn't lots of people. So, the ambience was calm and relaxing. I ate outside because it felt really good. Interesting mix of customers all ages, shapes & ages. I love the black-and-white custard gelato shake and the mushroom burger; they are my favorites. Let me say, the staff that I dealt with are super nice. I was brought extra pickles as I asked and they also brought my chocolate shake after I ate my meal as I had asked. My friend and I each got a single shack burger. We shared an order of fries with cheese. She got some strawberry lemonade and I just got water. My burger fell apart. The bread on the bottom did not stay together. The burger tasted sort of well done which you can ask for but I did not ask for it well done. They did add pickles on the burger which I wanted and honored my request of no shack sauce. The fries were better than usual because I had cheese on them. But really, they are pretty tasteless. The chocolate shake was very good. After dealing with a very unpleasant experience at their Sawgrass location and then today, I am taking a break from Shake Shack.
