On a positive note, the cheeseburgers and fries are really delicious. Very good. That said, the menu is confusing -- could be my error. For example, I upgraded a soft drink from a small to a large in a combo and and wound up paying $4.00 extra -- seems heavy. Tonight we ordered a cheeseburger and fries combo and that was fine, and ordered coleslaw and baked beans which are often great at drive-ins. The coleslaw was so disappointing, I put the container back on the tray. It wasn't the right color -- cabbage is normally greenish but not this stuff. Did Zack pick up a cabbage that fell off the cabbage truck into a ditch! And the beans. . baked? I think not. I think they came out of a can and not a good brand at that. The beans were sloshing in canned beans slosh. Again, the burger and fries were delicious and now I know what not to order (beans, coleslaw or the fish. Fish is nothing to write home about nor was the little packet of sauce that went with it.) Unfortunately, another restaurant that could be truly wonderful, but they just don't bother to make it so.

I walked past a Halloween display near the entrance consisting of skeletons riding a motorcycle suspended in the air with an American flag and an upside down rowboat. Near the bar there are stuffed animals doing inappropriate things like the raccoon holding a can of beer and a cigarette. When I sat down in the dining area, I took one look at the giant oven and knew we had to order a pizza again for dinner even though we had Kay's Pizza the night before. The medium size pizza with pepperoni and sausage looked normal enough but it was an exceptionally good pizza. Nice thin, crispy crust. Not too cheesy. Remarkably, we could not finish the pizza so we boxed the rest and took it home. Our server was really nice and very helpful. The music by the Saratoga String Band was wonderful, too. They could play anything including a nice rockabilly cover by the Stray Cats. There's even an upstairs gift shop which offered a remarkable array of items including pottery, handbags and snacks. This was a fun place to visit. The staff is great and so are the food and drinks.
