The new owners did an amazing job keeping the meat sauce the same!! The hotdogs are better then 2 years ago. The chocolate milkshake I got was better then Stewart's shops milkshakes. The slush puppies aka slushy are like the old slush puppies in the late 90s early 2000's!! The parking lot looks nice! It's more like a car hop than before I love car hop feel!! I don't know why all of the other hot dog joints around here switched to an absolutely horribly tasting hot dog but Zack's hasn't turned their backs on us! Food is delicious and service is friendly. The only odd issue I have is twice, recently, we ordered take out. My fiance LOVES their fried cheese curds. The first time, the didn't include them and I had to go back. The second time, they gave him a cheeseburger instead of cheese curds. Not sure if there is a mental block there...but it IS a first world problem, in our now third world. My suggestion is just check your bag before you leave, no biggie! read more

Want to zack's for dinner. I miss the old zack's. I wish they would come back . The new owner has to get there sh.t together. The service sucks. A girl came asked us if we needed a Menu. We said no. Because we already knew what we wanted. She just ran off . Didn't take our order. 5 minutes later she was walking by we yelled out to her. She took the order. 4 hot dogs and 1 sm FF. We waited 15 minutes later. 2 hots dogs and 1 FF came. She want back to get other 2 dogs. The hot dog were good better than last year. FFs were cold. The girls are running around so Confused not knowing what to do. We looked around and I don't think we were the only people that was happy with the way things were running. People in the cars had to take their trays back up. The girls didn't take them. Like I said they are so Confused. Good luck. read more

Not one positive thing from this place. From the food, to the service to the rude and nasty response when I told them I got the wrong food. Same name, nothing like the old place. I think all they care about is the money that goes into their pockets. They don't have any customer service skills. Have the "you don't like it, don't come back" attitude. Other than their friends and family, I believe the repeat business will dwindle. It's a shame how they have destroyed an area icon. And trust me, they have started things horribly. We have been anticipating stopping at the new Zack's. Sadly, it was disappointing. Tuesdays are $2 hot dogs, great price that seems to be drawing a lot of people there, but our hots were barely worth the $2 price. The hot dogs themselves were lukewarm. The sauce looked great, but left a burn in the mouth for quite some time, although it did make the hot dog seem hotter than it actually was. We paid for our $8 meal with a $20. Before handing back the change, our server asked if indeed we wanted change back and then how much we wanted back! To say the least, it was uncomfortable being "held up" by the server for a tip. With the food and the service experiences combined it will be some time before we return. We wish the new owners well. read more

went there tonight and will not go again! it was very busy and you had to pull out and park across the road. but when we found a spot, we waited and waited and waited. eventually, the people who pulled in next to us were served before our order was even taken! and the waitress who was supposed to wait on us, was very rude and kept walking by and when my husband hollered to her for a menu, gave us the menus and left. and then never came back. we left without eating. I love this place. I've been going to Zacks since I was a little kid. The food is always amazing, especially the hotdogs with their special meat sauce. I especially enjoy the car hop theme. Now that I live in CA I miss Zacks. When I do come back to visit, Zacks is a definite must visit. read more

Big pet peeve for me is when a place is known for their hot dogs and its one of the worst choices on the menu. Yes, the sauce is good but the hot dogs themselves are cheap mixed meat and boiled. A classic sit in your car and bring food to your window. The hot dogs though are boiled but decent. Only open in the summer and is a go to for locals. The chicken fingers are better than the hot dogs actually while the French fries are often served luke warm. The girls are always friendly and my order has never been wrong. read more

The Texas Hots are best hot dogs in the universe. Zack's sauce is unique, somewhat spicy, so good that the only question is whether to order four or five hot dogs (some members of our family have actually gotten outside of six, though they were pretty uncomfortable afterwards). We get some fries too, not because they are so great but to clear the palate so that we can appreciate each hot dog as if it were the first. We live for opening day (late spring) and get really depressed when Zack's closes in early fall. Note: opens at 4 daily, and is closed on Mondays. Plan ahead to avoid disappointment. Note also that if you bring a crowd, you can take over the gazebo or a picnic table and eat there instead of in your cars. Final tip: for every dozen you order, you get one or two extra. read more

I grew up on these dogs as did i dog shack and dirty johns,they all have their own flavour and are ,were good i guess.Dog shack has wattered down their sauce and cost has gone up but still the best deal around.but they just have no flavor anymore. Dirty Johns has stayed the closest to their original but the taste has changed over the years but still the best late night snack around. I have brought my kids there since very young also,made it a family childhood memory thing. Now this year i was excited and awaiting the opening so i grabbed my son and away we went and when i got there i saw the dogs went up to $2 EACH.no way wont pay that for a hot dog,they arn't that special. however i would rather goto mandy's now,the homemade rolls are worth it it's a better value now. Fortunate for me my aunt has worked the business for many many years and has the recipe for all the great dogs in the area but it still isnt the same i dont think,close but not the same but i will stick to home now as i do most things these days due to cost.The only thing i cant make at home that will buy once in a blue moon is harvest pizza. so no ty, keep your overpriced weenies hence only 3 stars,otherwise it be 5 stars however, the service is awesome and timely and very friendly. the experience is fun so if you can afford the prices by all means do it, eat em enjoy em and have one for me also because frankly i just cant afford that on a limited budget: )no pun intended haha read more
