I don't have time to wait 20 minutes for your one employee to make a smoothie. I understand that you decided to rent the Keebler elf's house to make a business out of but it's completely dysfunctional. The menu is placed where you have to already order and the car waiting can't see the menu, awesome. The drive thru itself is moronic but I understand it came with the territory of renting or leasing that space. It just isn't convenient or worth it. The valley is so desperate for anything new and halfway decent that places like this get a pass on mediocrity. I hope they rethink their staffing and location I won't be back. read more

I'll start off by saying I've been to this place numerous times with my family and have really enjoyed their smoothies over the years. This review is not for the product, but for the food handling practices of the employees. Every time I have been to this place I've seen the employees reach their fingers into the inside of the cup when they grab it. This is after they handled my credit card when I made payment, didn't see them switch gloves (wonder if they handle cash too). I finally brought it up and the young lady said she would change her gloves for me, then proceeded to stick her fingers in my cup again without the gloves on. I explained it to her again in more detail and took my drink, but tossed it cause I didn't feel comfortable drinking it. Won't be back anymore, it's too bad cause I really liked the smoothies. I have been wanting to try their products since they had their mobile service at various locations however, I could never keep up with their schedule and locations. Now that they are in a stable place and very convenient hours I can enjoy it any time. There has been nothing I have tried that I did not like. I've been a fan since Shake and Wake was just a smoothie truck and now that they opened up this new building all I can say is that they deserve it! Shake and wake is the best place for anyone who cares about what they are putting into their body. They've came a long way and upgraded in many ways including expanding their menu, increasing their work pace, and making their açai bowls even BIGGER. My all time favorite is the Detox and the PB&J with coffee. Can't wait to see more from these guys as they continue to grow! read more

Bought two acai bowls at this location today. $8 each, total $16. Thought it was a little steep at first but once we saw the size, we thought the price was ok. The taste was good but wished the consistency wasn't so watery. I'm used to acai bowls from San Diego and other El Centro locations and this was definitely very watery. I understand the weather down in El Centro but I bought them at night time and the inside of my car was very cool. Noticed how watery it was immediately as they were being handed to me. Gave four stars because their customer service was good, acai bowl tasted good, it was a big serving but again, very watered down. I visit offices in the area very often and would love to stop here again. Please work on this and I promise to continue supporting this local business. read more

I went and got two smoothies. One regular size (6 dollars) and another large (8 dollars). They were good, but WAY too expensive. 14 dollars for two drinks is overpriced. I think their product quality is pretty good. However, stop using so much ice!!! I realize it's the hottest place on earth, but you're ruining quality of products like smoothies and acai bowls watering it down with too much ice. I frequently get the Mayan to savor the chocolate, the flavor is different every time. Either too much cinnamon, something is gritty. Ok, fruit smoothies, stop putting juice in them! You just doubled the sugar content and added poor quality ingredient. Use real but milks! I love the fact that this place offers healthy food since it's hard to find in imperial valley. After the young girl ( with tattoos) gave me my card back she immediately closed the window without instruction to pull around the building! There was no arrows and was confused. After getting recommendations from friends and family I decided to give this place a try. The first time I went the Goji berry smoothie was excellent so I was looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Today I decided to try a blended chai tea latte - it was way too sweet and milky. I could not taste the chai at all. And the veggie panini was interesting. I was not expecting to get french's fried onions mixed with cucumber. I guess I was expecting a more traditional panini. Next time I will stick to the smoothies. read more
