We DoorDashed the order and the food came nicely prepared and packaged with order labels and our names written on top of the lids. Pleasantly surprised to discover that Shaloka is a food court stand in Eastview Mall. The quality of their bowls exceeded my expectations of typical food court food. What sets Shaloka apart from Tai Chi is their fruit bowls (Açai and Pitaya/Dragonfruit) and also their Signature Bowls. The fruit bowls are super refreshing and are akin to a smoothie in a spoon and bowl format. Their Signature Bowls also take the guesswork out of it. They are recipes that have already been tested. They are still customizable and you can even build your own like at Tai Chi if you wanted to. I got their Signature Hawaiian Classic bowl and it was delicious. Ahi tuna, salmon, avocado...enough said. It was yummy and I actually really loved their brown rice. It was short grain and had some good texture. Overall, it's the best poke i've had in Rochester, which isn't saying too much because there aren't too many other options. But still, the bowls are well-composed and feel more like a whole dish than a bunch of toppings thrown on top of rice.

To be honest, we didn't have high hopes for a burger at a sushi place, but I would have been jealous had my sushi not been incredible. The burger had the perfect char and was medium rare to order. The special sauce was great. This sushi place has a lot of creative options I haven't seen elsewhere. I had the O-ren and the tuna una - both fantastic. I wish some of the other choices didn't have cucumber but I would have had a hard time narrowing my choices down otherwise. The bartender was new but he made my husband the best old fashioneds he's had in awhile. Very smooth. I had a refreshing lavender lemon bubbly gin based cocktail and a glass of plum wine with my sushi. Service is great. The restaurant is cozy. It rivals some of our best sushi places in Buffalo. I wish we had it here.

Everything was plated up excellently according to instructions and everyone was pleased with what they had. I got the Sweet Potato Roll, a chef's Veggie Roll, and the Pickled Rick which came with mango and pickled ginger and which was a real treat. Poke Sushi has risen to the top of my list of sushi restaurants in the Rochester area. Check them out, they do a great job!

We already knew we liked Taichi from their Mt. Hope and Greece locations, so we were happy to see…read moreone open inside Eastview Mall. This spot is smaller inside, but it has all the things we've come to love from the other locations. We're not bubble tea fans, so we come for the poke bowls and sushi burritos. This time we went with the three‑protein poke bowl, which was excellent. Mine started with a scoop of rice and was topped with salmon, tuna, and imitation crab, then finished with eel sauce, sweet chili sauce, sushi egg cubes, edamame, avocado, and seaweed salad. The combination of sauces was fantastic, and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Taichi has enough toppings to create a ridiculously large number of unique combinations, which is part of the fun. We've stopped ordering the sushi burritos because they tend to fall apart. We're not sure if it's an assembly issue or the nori simply isn't large enough. Don't get us wrong -- they're always super delicious -- but they're messy and end up being less food than the bowls. We've found we're better off ordering the poke bowls, so that's what we do. This location has cozy seating options inside and a spot to eat outside as well. It's a place we've been returning to and will continue to do so. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and consistently tasty bowls make this a solid choice every time.

We had our Italian cousins in town where English is the 2nd language and she was short and rude. Then it came to me and she, again was short and when I asked a question she said "can't you see it right there?" At that point I had it and said I don't want the food anymore but didn't engage further ... she responded "whatever"! My wife asked to see the manager down toward the register and she kept on "chirping". I looked at her, put my finger over my mouth and said this doesn't concern you. This was when she raised her voice and said "I'll say whatever I want you can just leave! I get paid anyway." My response: "Exactly your problem" We took her advice and now the four of us walked out. People around saw this interaction and had weird looks on their face. The woman is awful and should NEVER work with customers. Entitled and pompous. There is NO WAY that this is her first interaction like this and I blame management. The place needs to elevate their standards for who they hire and the environment they expect their customers to experience. She needs to go!
