Tacos were AMAZING! Very well stuffed and seasoned. Every ingredient went well with one another. Two was a lot so I shared with my son who also couldn't get enough. The bowl with açaí was also very good , it was a lot as well so I shared with my nephews. Service was great the girl behind the register was friendly and pointed out the history of this location which was hung on the wall. Great ambiance as a spot to get a quick bite of worth it food.

I ordered through Yelp and picked up my order in this cute area!

Nice and lite!!!! I came to Shaka Kitchen because one of my coworkers was raving about their shrimp tacos so I had to check them out! This location is in the foodie paradise of Morristown and believe me, Shaka Kitchen can hold their own in the competition! The decor is delightfully fresh and so is their food! The staff is also very friendly! I placed my order conveniently through Yelp, and upon arrival I found my order on a very cute honeycomb wall shelf (see my pics!). I decided to get 2 lava rock tacos instead of 3 since I heard in some reviews that they can be quite filling. To be honest, at first I wasn't sure how I felt about 2 tacos at $17 without a side but believe me, these tacos were worth every dollar! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and crunchy, the cabbage, mango, & pickled onions were fresh, the sauce had a nice sweetness to it (not sure I got spice), and the corn tortillas held up even an hour after getting my tacos! I was satisfied after eating these without being overly full! I also decided to get an iced green pomegranate tea. The flavor was nice, I just found it to be a little too light and on the watery side but maybe because my ice had melted a little? Regardless it was refreshing and uplifting! When I'm back in the area I'll def be back for the lava rock tacos, and maybe even try their buffalo ones!!!

I ordered the Shaka bowl with Bbq Pulled Jackfruit. The portion size was massive! Unfortunately I didn't love it, I didn't like the jackfruit in the bowl. I would come back and try a cauliflower bowl or cauliflower tacos.

On opening day the staff in Shaka Kitchen moved like a well-oiled machine and brought us out two gorgeous poké bowls in just a few minutes. My dining companion chose a make-your-own of brown rice, chicken & pineapple for $16. I ordered the loco moco bowl with pork, a fried egg, white rice, cabbage, carrot and lime sauce for $18, delicious! Sure Poké is great with salmon or tuna but fish is not your only option, other protein choices include chicken, pork or shrimp; vegetarians might opt for jackfruit or fried cauliflower. The price point is kinda high for fast casual, also because the bowls with cheap ingredients like pork rice cabbage are just $0.50 cheaper than the bowls with fin fish or shrimp. Dining in is an option, short people might not be comfortable on the high benches tho. When you dine in, your food arrives in a plastic bowl, great that they don't use disposable *bowls*. But it comes with disposable wood forks and spoons, I don't much like how those feel and would have preferred a real fork since they're washing dishes anyhow. Next time we try an acaí bowl or a taco, the generous portions left no appetite for anything else.

I am a fan of Shaka, and this is the second location that I have been to. I'm so glad to see it in Central Jersey. I ordered the Mauna Kea with salmon instead of tuna and lava rock tacos. Both of them were well-seasoned and spicy. The staff members were friendly. The restaurant decor was charming and trendy.

Staff were so nice and food was delicious. The pulled pork quesadillas were amazing. I have to go try more smoothies, the coconut island was so good. Can't wait to go back.

    Kilauea
    Tiffani M.

Ordered a Kilauea bowl and replaced the Thai peanut sauce with the spicy Shaka sauce. Also replaced peanuts with cilantro. Unfortunately, they never added the cilantro and the sauce was not spicy at all. The wonton crisps were also a waste of space in the bowl, they did not taste good and got a weird texture after sitting for a little while. For almost $20 it was a decent amount of food (definitely could not finish in one sitting) but I did have to add some soy sauce just to elevate the flavors. Without it, the bowl was a bit bland. I would try something else off the menu and maybe try a different location. Nothing was wrong with the service here, it's just out of my way.

I had the shrimp tacos here and they were delicious. I even ate the onions and i don't even like onions, but these were so good. The service was great and i didn't wait long for the food. Love the ambiance, they had good amount of tables inside and on my a few for outdoor seating.

Great new spot on South Street in Morristown. Lots of options -- poke bowls, smoothie bowls, smoothies and tacos. All the tacos we have tried have been great, and the coconut shrimp appetizer was excellent, with a nice hit of spice from the accompanying sauce. Lots of seating inside and a couple of tables outside, and service was pleasant.

I opted for the online order and it was ready just when it was promised. The entire order was packaged perfectly, and there were no issues when I opened it I ordered the steak quesadilla with onions and it was very good. It had a slight kick, but as someone who doesn't tolerate spiciness very well, it was just enough for me. I didn't know what to expect from the brussels sprouts but they were sweet and not spicy at all. A great side entree! Overall, a great visit to Tacoria. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"

Over the last several years, Morristown has seen an influx of several new casual and not-so-casual…read moreMexican and TexMex restaurants.. seemingly replacing the numerous frozen yogurt outlets that were the subject of an earlier culinary trend. Tacoria, which was one of the earliest participants in this recent trend, offers tasty, made-to-order TexMex cuisine in a trendy, fast-casual cafeteria-style ambiance. The cozy dining area, which is open to South Street when the weather is cooperative, only offers about a dozen tables for two or four diners, so it may be difficult to get seating during peak times. On several visits, we've had to stand around awkwardly holding our food while waiting for other diners to finish their meals and relinquish their table for us. After placing your order at the counter from the menu that allows you to build-your-own burritos, bowls, street tacos, salads, or nachos -- all of which is cooked to order -- grab a seat at one of the tables in the dining area and wait for your pager to buzz and let you know your meal is ready to be picked up. The service is very good with counterstaff that's very knowledgeable about the menu and terrific at making whatever accommodations a diner may require (vegetarian, lactose free, etc.). I'm a fan of the Burrito - Al Pastor ($12.50), comprised of ground marinated pork served with black beans, seasoned rice, and salsa in a grilled flour tortilla.. but I was surprised that my entree did not come with even a small portion of complimentary tortilla chips. My dining companion enjoyed her salad topped with marinated grilled chicken ($11), sliced avocado, black beans, pico de gallo, and cheese on a bed of romaine lettuce and topped with a pineapple lime dressing. There's a handful of complimentary homemade hot sauces - which range from mild verde to spicy habenero -- as well as several varieties of Cholula and Tabasco available (and small 'to go' containers if you're planning to dine elsewhere) if you want to kick things up a notch - and a Coca-Cola fountain machine offering unlimited refills of the basic Coca-Cola options (Coke, Diet Coke, etc.) if you've overdone it with the complimentary hot sauces. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Tacoria doesn't have a private parking lot, but there is plenty of on-street parking on South Street. Bring change or use the ParkMobile app for the meters ($1 per hour) Monday through Saturday from 8am til 6PM; all street meters are free Monday through Saturday after 6pm and all day on Sunday. If you can't find a spot on the street, the Morristown Parking Authority DeHart Street garage (@ 13 Dehart Street) or lot (@ 12 Wilmot Street) are a short walk to Tacoria.

Since the weather was perfect, we decided to sit outside with our dog. The service was very attentive throughout the meal. We started with fresh pineapple juice and a frozen margarita ($14). The juice was light and refreshing, while the margarita was perfectly balanced and delicious. For appetizers, we shared several plates: Brisket Nachos ($18) - Slow-roasted brisket with yellow habanero salsa, cheddar, black beans, radish, crema, and pico de gallo. The portion was enormous--very New Jersey-sized--and full of flavor. Tasting Trio of Guacamole ($16) - Guacamole Casa: Avocado, onion, tomato, cilantro, serrano, and sea salt M - Serrano Marmalade: Serrano, lime, and agave - Fresa:* Fresh seasonal fruit mix The guacamole trio was outstanding; we loved all three, especially the Serrano Marmalade. It was so good I wish I could find something like it in New York City. For our mains, we ordered: Huevos Rancheros ($17) - Sunny-side-up eggs with refried beans, rice, pico de gallo, chorizo Milano, ranchera sauce, crema, queso fresco, red onion, serranos, and crispy corn tostadas. Shrimp Tacos ($24)** - Seared pineapple achiote shrimp with mango slaw, aji verde, pineapple achiote adobo, and micro cilantro on corn tortillas. Steak Chalupas, Cholula Style ($29) - Seared ribeye steak served with bone marrow mashed potatoes, cotija, salsa verde aioli, crema, shredded cabbage, and lime. By the time our entrées arrived, we were already 80% full from the appetizers, but everything was flavorful and beautifully prepared. The bottled water is $ 10, Orela is a fantastic spot for a relaxed weekend lunch, especially if you're bringing your dog. The outdoor seating is lovely, and the food quality easily rivals many NYC restaurants.
