Great food and fabulous service! This truck made our event stand out and we will for sure use them again.

I waited all my food truck life for this moment…read more.. I attended the Camarillo Ranch, Food Truck Event today. First day they had this since, COVID. The event was great. A lot of people! What was the problem? This food truck had about five people in line. All the other trucks had +20 in line. I thought I scored because, there was no line. Seriously, I was waiting for this precious foodie moment... The food was gross! Steak was like dinosaur meat thick and with fat. That baby THICK!!! I couldn't even chew it. I went to the shrimp and it was not made with love. The shrimp was over seasoned and it had the same seasoning as the rice! The veggies had no flavor and were thin and no flavor. I guess, I couldn't tell because I still had that yucky seasoning in my mouth. A true disappointment. Ya'll save your $30 and try another truck!

Such a great idea to have hibachi on a food truck!…read more Hands down food is always fire. Chef Palmer and his team do a wonderful job. I will say if you asked me to review this last year , I would of dropped the stars. There was 2 incidents I was not happy with, 1 was when the food truck was at the brewery. During this time, we had a female worker take our order, not sure if she was a gf of the chef at the time (from what transpired) or a worker. She was nice, no issue at all from her assisting us but we went inside the brewery to come back out 30 minutes later expecting our food to be close to being ready and the truck was closing up and ready to drive off. We had asked the cook, not sure of his name. He was very nice but we were disappointed, he had told us "he didn't have our order and wasn't aware we even placed one and asked for a receipt and who took our order." We explained what happened, and we could hear him and the female employee have a small disagreement about the order. We were refunded and were told it was a miscommunication. We were pretty upset at this point and chose not to come back for a while, we came back again 1 more time and again, had issues with service and food was not how it usually was. I will be honest, we took a few months of a break from visiting. Fast forward to now and recently since then (previous comment) we now come at least once or twice a month. It is our go to spot when we want a night of hibachi but don't get home till late from our sons soccer activities. The food truck being open late is perfect for those nights. Each and every time food has made up for the incident last year and has always been BOMB. The variety of the menu has expanded since it has opened, each and every item has been great. Our go to favorites are the steak and lobster combo plate, garlic noodles and the hibachi burrito or fries. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. We have been coming since the food truck first started and have loved to watch it grow and will continue to support these local 805 businesses who definitely deserve it. Highly recommended, if you see this food truck and the line is long ,I promise you it is worth it!

I usually buy ice cream from a truck, but today I felt like going to a store, so I visited. The store's interior is classic and reflects Mr. Softee's history. Looking at the old photographs displayed in the store, you can see that Mr. Softee has been loved by people for a long time. I usually order a simple vanilla soft-serve ice cream from the truck, but since I was at the store, I decided to try something different. I had a strawberry sundae, and my friend had a warm chocolate cookie sundae. Of course, both were delicious. The ice cream here is simple and reminds me of the ice cream I had as a child. They also sell original merchandise in the store, which was really fun. It's a fun place for both children and adults. There isn't much parking space in downtown Camarillo, but I was able to find street parking this time.

A while back I read a Mister Softee review by my Yelp friend Gina. She had rented the truck for a family party and wrote about how great the experience was. That's where I got the idea. But instead of a family party, I thought it would be fun to have a party for all the kids on our street. Our street is filled with kids! I mean, the street is only like two blocks long, but there are well over twenty kids. They're out there every day, riding bikes, shooting hoops, running around without a care in the world. Good times! My Wife designed and printed up invitations, then went door to door up and down the street to personally invite everyone. She already knows pretty much everyone, so the Parents were cool with the idea. So today was the big day. I was super excited when the Mister Softee Truck pulled up and parked right in front of my house. And then the driver turned on the music. Aw yeahhhh! And that's when the kids started coming. Big kids, little kids, Parents carrying kids, so many kids. A small line formed. It was a trip watching what the kids ordered. They got to pick whatever they wanted from the menu. They could pick a Cone, a Sundae, a Shake, Ice Cream Sandwich, even a Banana Split. It cracked me up how many ordered a small cone. I mean, not even dipped. Just a plain old small cone. Such a sensible order! I loved it!!!! One little guy ordered a Root Beer Float. I was like, that would've been my order at his age too. I like how the Mister Softee Truck serves their Root Beer Floats: they give you the rest of the can of Root Beer they use to make the float. A couple kids needed a non-dairy alternative, and I was relieved that the Mister Softee Truck had some attractive options like Sno Cones or colorful frozen ice treats. Most of the kids enjoyed their treat right there next to the truck. Parents took photos of their kids and kids chased ice cream drips down their arms with their tongues, as kids do. All of the kids and their parents were super appreciative and thanked my wife and I for the party. We thanked them for coming. There were clearly a lot of happy kids on our street today, but I don't think any could've been happier than me. Thank you to my neighbors, and all the neighborhood kids Thank you Mister Softee! And most importantly, Thank You to my wonderful Wife for enthusiastically supporting my idea right from the start. Mikey C says: Oreo Swirl for me!

Sad to learn they no longer had ribeye tacos. Those seriously my fave but it's ok. I love tacos period and Mothers is always a great choice with their menu updates so I know I can count on tasty food regardless! Most recently, I had the suadero, al pastor and asada. My fave? The suadero! The churros for dessert with your choice of dipping sauce are so good. The marg didn't disappoint either! I have visited multiple times and they just celebrated their one year! We love the vibes. Staff is so warm. It feel like at friend's casita as soon as I walk it. Always greeted and acknowledged. Amazing customer service. They do get really busy at times but I'm not in a rush when I dine out. I go to enjoy myself and have good food. Also... the people complaining about prices are a bit nuts. Who says great quality Mexican food is cheap. This idea that Mexican food is cheap just because it's Mexican is pure craziness. Mother's uses good quality ingredients, no seed oils and they source local products. They work with local bakeries and shop at local farm markets. love that they as a business support local too. Counter service - order up front, get a number & wait for your food at your table :) They call your number and you pick it up. Chill but such a nice space. I've attend different events from a night market to their anniversary party, always a great time. Parking is limited, so when I can't find parking a park a few streets away but I do not mind walking.
