The reason I am giving this restaurant 3 stars is because it began with a blindingly good start, and even though it's fallen from a great height, it has the potential to recover its former glory. This was once the only Indo-Pak restaurant in Slough (among a huge number) that used to be heavily frequented by Indians and Pakistanis. THAT is always a sign of an excellent Indo-Pak restaurant. It used to be overbooked as well. Now, unfortunately, the restaurant has declined. It's not alone in this. The restaurant business in Slough is ultra competitive, and recently saw the demise of the great million-pound Dragon King Chinese restaurant in the high street. However there is more than enough room for GOOD restaurants. This one is no longer pulling its weight. The main courses are the main focus of the restaurant, and they are still good. However the starters and deserts are sub-par even for a 1970s greasy spoon cafe. The main issue however is the service. Recently they got into some embarrassment by refusing to serve a disabled person. This reflects a generally haughty and dismissive attitude held by all the staff you will come across in this restaurant. The Indo-Pak in this restaurant is now heavily leaning more towards the Pak side of things. It is after all in that kind of area in Slough. So if you order a drink with your lunchtime buffet you're practically the devil as far as the waiting staff are concerned. If you're there for the buffet but leave food on your plate they will openly show annoyance, shake their heads and tut away. The serving staff don't understand service and may even get in the way of the buffet area and obstruct you without acknowledgment, to perform some routine task. Basically the niceties of good manners aren't there. If anyone's saying please or thank you, it will be the customer. It's really not on. That's why I say I gave it 3 stars only because it used to be the best (and worthy of 5 stars). But now, as it is, it's worth 2 stars. read more
