Tried this place during my lay over at London.. this isn't the authentic afghan food but the food was still pretty decent.. even on a busy evening we were seated quickly because of reservation. The server were great and attentive and took good care of our order and guide us to order just enough portion for I utter group. After a flight delay and an unwanted hotel airport stay, my wife used it as an opportunity to hit South Hall for some south Asian food. Two friends recommended this spot. So first. Service. They are busy. Very busy. It's hard to get anyone's attention. When we did, the young women was in a constant rush and a little rude. As an example - I placed our food order and also asked for chai. She abruptly said "no too busy go somewhere else for that." Later, I saw other people order and get chai after their meal at the table next to us. There was another guy running back and forth. I must have asked for water 4 or 5 times before he finally just dropped a bottle off on the table while running by with no glasses. Getting the check was an ordeal. So finally I just walked up to the counter and asked for it at the take away register and the same rude women said "just pay here". I gave her my Amex and it wasn't going thru she just kept saying "decline". She did it two or 3 times. Then I said "do you take Amex". She says "no only visa MasterCard." I don't expect white glove service at spots like this, just don't be rude. Maybe say I'm sorry we are too busy tonight. Anyway. The food. That saved the day. Ordered food to go for 20 ppl, got 3 specialties, mantu, Ashak, pallow, the kebabs were absolutely delicious, my favorite was the Chapli kebab, I have been craving for it since. 1 thing I don't get was 3 out of 6 of the rices I got was cold. But the kebab made up for it as it was the best kebabs we had. We didn't even have the rices. Defiantly make a reservation, highly recommend. Delicious and clean food. read more

Better than expected! Since London is overpopulated with ethnic food you never really know what your getting yourself into. Until the first few bites of course! The meat is laid out in a glass display for you to see. You can also watch the chef grill it up as the kitchen is on the side of the tables. I found it most flavorful in this dish. Rice, Afghan Plate:: Really delicious traditional afghan rice. Soft, mildly flavored and simply yummy! Butter Chicken:: Reminded me much of a dish my uncle makes called KuKuPaca (coconut chicken), this is the most unique tasting butter chicken I've ever had but it's ok, 3 out of 5 stars, nothing too special about it however it had some kind of otherworldly appeal to my niece, this is her favorite dish! Lahore Plate:: All the meats in this platter are brought out steaming! This dish is definitely not Afghani. It's Indian/Pakistani. Spicer side but not too hot. Chicken Pieces, Lahore Plate:: Mid size chunks of chicken, tasted good in the plate over-all. Chicken Kabob, Lahore Plate:: To my surprise, this was my FAVORITE Chicken in the plate! Soft and supple, well marinated, the meat took on the flavors easily. Tandoor Chicken, Lahore Plate:: Medium-well done cooked, just the way I like it. The skin, well seasoned. Not my favorite though. Tasted like the usual Tandoodi chicken. We arrived at this joint in perfect timing however when we were leaving the line to get in was OUT OF THE DOOR! It's THAT popular! I would have the Afghan plate again! PS. I find it a tad bit disturbing that they ONLY serve tea by the pot and not the cup. However from an economical stand point I suppose for a business it makes sense. read more

Good food and very nice decor but service is absolutely horrible. All of the staff have really bad attitude like they're forced to work in chains. Lack of cleanliness is another issue. Broken stuff in the bathroom, layer of grease on all tables and floors, dirty windows. Kitchen area is very clean but other areas need attention. read more

We first came to this restaurant about 2 years ago and really enjoyed our meal. We indulged in biryani and mixed grill. It was so delicious and memorable that we routed our flights to stop in London for the night so we could come back for another meal. Now I know that sometimes the meal is not as good as one remembers. But in this case it was even better. Once again we had the mixed Afghani grill. The meat was hot, nicely spiced and tender. We continued our meal to include a serving of paya and masala fish. I enjoyed 2 glasses of fresh squeezed orange juice. A delicious accompaniment to my deal and a much needed shot of vitamin c after 2 weeks of travel. The service was great even the owner was there to say hello. Our waiter Rehan with the nice smile and green eyes was kind enough to let us take our time and order each meal individually. Giving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. All of the waiters were helpful and took good care of the 5 of us. We will definitely be back. read more

Afghan kabobs, spicy Indian kabobs, authentic curry dishes and fast service. This is real food 100%

Useless place to eat two times bad experience. Service sooooo bad, had to wait for chciken karai for more then 45min and then there was no naan bread for another 20 mins to start your food and staff hanging around the noon came after an hour food already dead cold three people eating with one naan. Second naan never came and so we left food in our plats. On Cashier desk they said we'll give you £3 discount also charged for water bottle which we never ask what a bunch of idiots. The bottom line is useless place to eat. read more
