Better than expected! Since London is overpopulated with ethnic food you never really know what your getting yourself into. Until the first few bites of course! The meat is laid out in a glass display for you to see. You can also watch the chef grill it up as the kitchen is on the side of the tables. Disclaimer: THE REVIEW BELOW WILL BE BASED ON CHICKEN ALONE. Afghani Plate:: The chicken in this plate was my absolute favorite! And I tried ALL the chicken this restaurant has to offer! I found it most flavorful in this dish. Rice, Afghan Plate:: Really delicious traditional afghan rice. Soft, mildly flavored and simply yummy! Butter Chicken:: Reminded me much of a dish my uncle makes called KuKuPaca (coconut chicken), this is the most unique tasting butter chicken I've ever had but it's ok, 3 out of 5 stars, nothing too special about it however it had some kind of otherworldly appeal to my niece, this is her favorite dish! Lahore Plate:: All the meats in this platter are brought out steaming! This dish is definitely not Afghani. It's Indian/Pakistani. Spicer side but not too hot. Chicken Pieces, Lahore Plate:: Mid size chunks of chicken, tasted good in the plate over-all. Chicken Kabob, Lahore Plate:: To my surprise, this was my FAVORITE Chicken in the plate! Soft and supple, well marinated, the meat took on the flavors easily. Tandoor Chicken, Lahore Plate:: Medium-well done cooked, just the way I like it. The skin, well seasoned. Not my favorite though. Tasted like the usual Tandoodi chicken. We arrived at this joint in perfect timing however when we were leaving the line to get in was OUT OF THE DOOR! It's THAT popular! I would have the Afghan plate again! PS. I find it a tad bit disturbing that they ONLY serve tea by the pot and not the cup. However from an economical stand point I suppose for a business it makes sense.

My daughter ordered idli and she said it was fluffy, soft and it was served hot throughout as it was freshly made. I ordered Paneer Thali dish, delicious paneer, portion is really good, can't finish it all and naan is well made, soft. I ordered plain dosa, the sambar is tangy and spicy couldn't stop eating it. Highly recommended place to dine with the family. The restaurant's ambience was great. Delicious vegetarian food. Service was excellent, my daughter wanted to try the chaat but couldn't eat some ingredients and they gave one extra piece of plain chaat for her to try. Will definitely go back and try the other dishes.

The Hindi music is blasting from the speakers so choose your table well, if there is choice. The place is filled with mostly Indians, couples and families. The food comes rather quickly and is just great! The menu is huge and choosing is too difficult so I just order whatever I fancy and think I can manage to eat. The chaat is such typical Indian street food and at Rita's they have a lot of choice. I loved the Dahi Puri and the samosas. They offer sizzling dishes like tikka paneer, which was not spicy enough to me but very tasteful. We had a plain dosa which comes with the standard chutneys and it was good.

Crispy butter-ey bun with a well seasoned filling topped with a lovely chutney. One of the best vada pavs I've had. I would admit that I am a chilli paneer snob, and this chilli paneer is one I would definitely go back for. A little on the spicy side, but it does have the word "chilli" in the name. I would've liked the paneer cubes to be cut into smaller pieces. The one thing I wasn't impressed with the meal was the butter chicken. I found that the portion was way too small for as a main dish. The flavour was okayish. The garlic and chilli naan was good, a little on the crispy side. The chai is spicy and warm, in a good way. The service: Unfortunately, the service is what lets this place down. The staff are not welcoming or attentive, but I guess I am used to this kind of service in Southall. However, there is one gentleman here who was great, I believe he is one of the owners. He was personable and humorous. I would've knocked two stars off if it wasn't for this guy. The place: The restaurant has definitely been renovated since the last Yelp photos that have been posted! The wall decor is cool and modern. Tables and cutlery seemed clean, especially for Southall standards. Will be returning when I'm feeling peckish after a Southall shopping spree!
