The platter comes with 3 LARGE pieces of Bolani, which is a flatbread filled with veggies, as well as Qabuli Palaw, a rice pilaf with a chunk of lamb and served with salatah, and 6 beef dumplings (mantu). You can substitute the beef for vegan dumplings. The portions are large and enough to feed about 3-4 people. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and was filling! I really want to try the vegan dumplings the next time I go, but just a heads up, these take about 30 minutes for them to make. The guys working were friendly and professional, and the food was truly fantastic. I highly recommend trying them out! Check their Facebook page for specials.

As noted by other reviewers, the menu is limited, but the food is delicious, the portions are generous, the service is friendly, and it's worth going out of your way to the market to enjoy. Had the Qabuli Palow, which, as noted by others, doesn't have a significant amount of lamb in it, but the lamb that is there is tender and tasty. The rice, with all the additions, is different from any I've had before and very good. Couldn't eat it all, but it was still very good the next day. The bolani was my favorite! Flatbread filled with leeks and potatoes, with sour cream and spicy green tomato sauce in separate containers for the to-go order. (They have no seating of their own, but there are table and chairs at the market where you could sit and enjoy the food there.) Don't try to pick up the flatbread and eat it with your hand unless you're looking to have a bit of a mess on your hand....this is NOT a criticism, just a warning! Hadn't intended to eat all of it at once (it's large), but it was too good to stop eating. Hopefully, business has been good enough that they will get a more permanent spot at the market. and, no styrofoam!

Ambiance: None.. you order food, wait, they call your # and you eat, when you are done, be courteous and put your plates away on the counter. Service: Fast & efficient, they have vast knowledge of the menu and can provide suggestions. Food: Mantu - my goodness, these little beef filled dumplings were oozing with flavor. The lentils, the sauce & yogurt absolutely delicious. Chicken breast sandwich - the chicken was very flavorful and great portion size wrapped in a soft naan bread. Steak - the steak it self was a bit dry but I guess that is what is the sauce is for. The kabuli rice & salad was tasty pairings with the steak. Chai - Warm, cardamon chai! Perfect end to the meal. I had forgotten about Bamiyan but was thoroughly pleased with the food & chai. Will definitely be visiting again.

The flatbread/naan that it came with was a bit dry for my liking, and tasted more like a 'foccaccia' texture than what I anticipated to be fluffy. Still decent. Service is good. My go-to meals in Bamiyan are usually the Kebab Dinners which includes rice, salad and the naan bread. My favorite kebabs are the Beef Kofta and the Chicken Breast. The Kofta is mainly minced beef with herbs and spices and is freshly grilled to perfection. I find Bamiyan's Kofta tender, juicy and not dry like the others. The same goes for their chicken breast. Mildly spiced chicken cubes are perfectly charred and absolutely delicious. The simple Afghani Rice (Chalau) has a fragrant aroma and fluffy texture. The Afghan salad which is loaded with vegetables like tomatoes and lettuce is light and refreshing and goes well with the white yoghurt sauce they provide you. Both rice and salad side dishes are perfect accompaniment to the meat kebabs. The Naan is another one of my favorites, I always make sure to buy an extra one just to bring home. The only thing I noticed lately is that the red sauce is not as flavourful and spicy as it used to be. Nevertheless it doesn't affect the overall quality of their food and would still come back here. Staff are friendly but expect for longer wait times up to 15 minutes for your order since this location is pretty busy all the time.

The food quality is good, but attention to customer instructions and consistent portion sizes need improvement.

I placed an order for pick up i told the lady that i wanted two dinner meals with tandoori chicken and kebab, everything seemed just fine. I said since when do you charge extra for sauce and she points right at this make shift sign that states "extra 50 cents for sauce". Ofcourse i didnt pay for extra sauce!! Why should i? I mean all the other locations give the sauces free of charge. FYI: THE SAUCES PROVIDED WITH YOUR MEAL IS ONLY FILLED HALF WAY, UNBELIEVABLE!! Anyhow my experience doesnt end there, i got back to my place and opened up the meals and seen she only gaved me tandoori chicken without the kebabs. I immediately phoned the restaurant back and spoke to same lady that took my order and i told her, hey you only gave me tandoori chicken when i clearly asked for kebab as well. Now, was i charged extra and just got ripped off? Because tandoori chicken meals cost less She says she didnt charge me extra, she only charged me for the "tandoori chicken meals" but whats odd is the amount didnt add up to two meals of tandoori chicken, it was more!! Her response to the missing kebabs was SORRY I FORGOT and thats it WOOOOOOOOOW!! so i asked what are you going to do now? are you going to make the kebabs since they are clearly missing.. she says: nono sorry. 1. She didnt offer to make the meal correctly and for me to come back. 2. She wasnt honest that she indeed charged me for tandoori chicken and kebab. -instead i was given tandoori chicken meals.
