Food - authentically prepared Afghan cuisine. 5/5. The chicken breast kebab was mouthwatering. Tender, juicy chicken, grilled and served over fluffy basmati rice. Garnished with some cut red onions. Wow!! You must try it. My friend ordered the lamb shish kebab (mixed lamb on the menu) and he really enjoyed it. Service - 4/5 - slow. Be prepared to wait a little bit for your meal to be served. This is home cooking. Prepared fresh. Maybe ordering an appetizer would help. Ambience 4/5- very simple. Ample seating. Clean. Bright. This is a new restaurant on the Boulevard that you must try! Family owned, run by an immigrant family from Afghanistan. The owner, Abbas, worked as a chef in Iran and later Malaysia, for a total of 28 years. He definitely knows how to cook! Very friendly, polite and humble. His young son helps to provide service. They have been in Western New York for one and a half years. At a time in our country when there is an "UNCONSTITUTIONAL" crack down on immigrants, you must appreciate the dedication, perseverance and talents of these new neighbors. They have seen much hardship but still smile. They give so much to our community. This is what democracy is. This is what our country is built on. I wish all the best to Abbas, his family and his new restaurant. Welcome to the city of good neighbors - Buffalo and WNY!

I had roasted goat shank on a bed of rice. The meat was outstanding. Cooked perfect tender Rich Everything was outstanding I was the only customer in the restaurant so the service was good It's been only open for about a month I am definitely going to stop again

Authentically prepared Afghan food, as best as I could judge. I had a mixed kebab, one was ground chicken, one with ground lamb, served on a bed of flavorful rice. Also included was a grilled whole jalapeno & some red pepper. A condiment they called green sauce made with chopped jalapeno & herbs was also included & was fantastic. Each meat had a creative mix of spices and had been pressed onto metal skewers for grilling over an open flame. Service was great, place was very clean. It was also obvious that food was cooked to order so be patient. Overall I highly recommend it.

The platter comes with 3 LARGE pieces of Bolani, which is a flatbread filled with veggies, as well as Qabuli Palaw, a rice pilaf with a chunk of lamb and served with salatah, and 6 beef dumplings (mantu). You can substitute the beef for vegan dumplings. The portions are large and enough to feed about 3-4 people. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and was filling! I really want to try the vegan dumplings the next time I go, but just a heads up, these take about 30 minutes for them to make. The guys working were friendly and professional, and the food was truly fantastic. I highly recommend trying them out! Check their Facebook page for specials.

As noted by other reviewers, the menu is limited, but the food is delicious, the portions are generous, the service is friendly, and it's worth going out of your way to the market to enjoy. Had the Qabuli Palow, which, as noted by others, doesn't have a significant amount of lamb in it, but the lamb that is there is tender and tasty. The rice, with all the additions, is different from any I've had before and very good. Couldn't eat it all, but it was still very good the next day. The bolani was my favorite! Flatbread filled with leeks and potatoes, with sour cream and spicy green tomato sauce in separate containers for the to-go order. (They have no seating of their own, but there are table and chairs at the market where you could sit and enjoy the food there.) Don't try to pick up the flatbread and eat it with your hand unless you're looking to have a bit of a mess on your hand....this is NOT a criticism, just a warning! Hadn't intended to eat all of it at once (it's large), but it was too good to stop eating. Hopefully, business has been good enough that they will get a more permanent spot at the market. and, no styrofoam!

The lentils, the sauce & yogurt absolutely delicious. Chicken breast sandwich - the chicken was very flavorful and great portion size wrapped in a soft naan bread. Steak - the steak it self was a bit dry but I guess that is what is the sauce is for. The kabuli rice & salad was tasty pairings with the steak. Chai - Warm, cardamon chai! Perfect end to the meal. My go-to meals in Bamiyan are usually the Kebab Dinners which includes rice, salad and the naan bread. My favorite kebabs are the Beef Kofta and the Chicken Breast. The Kofta is mainly minced beef with herbs and spices and is freshly grilled to perfection. I find Bamiyan's Kofta tender, juicy and not dry like the others. The same goes for their chicken breast. Mildly spiced chicken cubes are perfectly charred and absolutely delicious. The simple Afghani Rice (Chalau) has a fragrant aroma and fluffy texture. The Afghan salad which is loaded with vegetables like tomatoes and lettuce is light and refreshing and goes well with the white yoghurt sauce they provide you. Both rice and salad side dishes are perfect accompaniment to the meat kebabs. The Naan is another one of my favorites, I always make sure to buy an extra one just to bring home. The only thing I noticed lately is that the red sauce is not as flavourful and spicy as it used to be. Nevertheless it doesn't affect the overall quality of their food and would still come back here. Staff are friendly but expect for longer wait times up to 15 minutes for your order since this location is pretty busy all the time.

My curiosity for kebobs/kebabs have grown over the summer because they are grilled meat and taste different from American/Canadian BBQ flavours. Also, they are more economical. We ordered combo #5 ($36) to share, a dinner with beef tikka, seekh and grilled chicken kebobs. The chicken and seekh kebobs were tender. The beef tikka kebobs were lean, dry and a bit tough to chew. They all tasted fine/A-OK. I found the rice flavorless and not fragrant. The salad was fresh though typical. The naan wasn't as fresh and soft as could be. It had no taste. For each combo, customer could choose to have just naan/salad or dinner (rice/salad/naan). I think the naan/salad option is good portion for 1 person but is pricey, because the dinner option is only $3 extra and there is much rice. The dinner combo 5 and 6 come with 3 skewers of meat and are sufficient for 2 people. This is important because the restaurant doesn't mind people dining communal style on premise. There were many families dining there when we visited. I interpret it as the food is authentic and economical.

I said since when do you charge extra for sauce and she points right at this make shift sign that states "extra 50 cents for sauce". Ofcourse i didnt pay for extra sauce!! Why should i? Now, was i charged extra and just got ripped off? Because tandoori chicken meals cost less She says she didnt charge me extra, she only charged me for the "tandoori chicken meals" but whats odd is the amount didnt add up to two meals of tandoori chicken, it was more!! Her response to the missing kebabs was SORRY I FORGOT and thats it WOOOOOOOOOW!! so i asked what are you going to do now? are you going to make the kebabs since they are clearly missing.. she says: nono sorry. 1. She didnt offer to make the meal correctly and for me to come back. 2. She wasnt honest that she indeed charged me for tandoori chicken and kebab. -instead i was given tandoori chicken meals.
