I was told it was because he was fighting the groomer. Why would she not just have stopped? She said he was unhappy because he had matted fur that took her a long time to get through and it made him upset so he wasn't cooperative. He goes to the groomer every 2 weeks and WAS on their schedule every 2 weeks through the end of the year. He is bathed/dried/brushed/combed at home between grooming visits so I know for a fact that the story she is trying to tell about him being matted up is a lie. He was just there 2 weeks prior but there were no issues at that visit. I feel like she got in a rush and messed up as is trying to cover it up. His cut is uneven all over the place and the bath was mediocre. I don't know if this person is new and inexperienced but I don't care. My baby will NEVER go back there again. My dog has his own FB and Insta pages if I need to prove that he is not unkept and that he doesn't have matted hair as I'm sure that will be the excuse given in any reply. As of now they haven't apologized or even followed up after I complained and canceled all of his future appointments. Just blamed the dog and that was that. 2 weeks later: tried to take my baby to a groomer that he has been to before and he is now scared to go. The Dog Shop has literally traumatized him. They said the grooming that was done looked like a beginner did it. Uneven everywhere. Feet cut was too high on top of the damage. My poor baby that used to go without too much push back is scared to death. Doodle owners/pet owners. If you take your dog here do so at the dogs risk. It was clarified that his feet were burned from hot clippers.

Finally I reached out to her to groom our two fur babies and let me tell you, Ciara is the absolute best and we will not ever stray again. She is so very patient and kind hearted. Mother and i had the worst experience ever with Ciaras Dog Groomer. Upfront info: My mom is 85…read moreyears old. My mom adopted this dog from Rise And Shine animal rescue/shelter. Dog has been in her possession for about a month before she decides to get him groomed, at Ciaras. They accepted my mom's pet in the morning with a witness to verify to call my number is there were problems. Under groomer bailment law they are bound to return her dog to her. Whilst there they recognize this dog as another clients lost dog. Dog had been in shelter for 20 days after a legal 5 day stray hold. At that point the dog is available for adoption. So they call the client/friend that that think they may have their lost dog. Apparently, they also called the police to report my mother had stolen dog. They called my mother to come to business not me as requested. And confront her about this dog alone They called her a thief and a liar and took her dog from HER AND GAVE IT TO PREVIOUS OWNERS.... Because my mother was very upset about this, obviously a cop at one point put a cuff on her and threatened to take her to jail. Then they trespassed her and all Family members. Unbeknownst to her,us,me. . They took favor of one client over another and mistreated my mother. She can barely hear so she probably misunderstood most of everything said to her. They ambushed her. She did not steal the dog!! This happened Memorial Day wknd. Lucky for my mom I was at the shelter at time of offense to her. I was called and quickly told the shelter what happened and they immediately called Ciaras as well as police back and forth calls etc. Ultimately, the dog was brought to police station 2 hrs. Later after they wrongfully took my mom's dog from her. I took care of it for my mother, cause she's not really able to fend for herself. ALL OF THIS could have avoided if they called me. Tuesday after holiday i go there to speak with owner about what happened not manager. But this whole ordeal both owner and mgmt. was in agreement and stand by what they did even though they are legally wrong. Long story short, Mgr gets angry and loud and throws me out. Says matter is over. No No. I don't think so. I have a civil case with them at the moment. Their behavior was shocking. Never would have thought to have to go through this. And my mother wasn't a new client. Didn't expect them to NOT take accountability or apologize. They called police on us like we did something wrong. Other residents of Lucedale have told me about bad experiences with also. They are not great or friendly or what I would expect from a small town business. Dana is great and I can tell that she genuinely cared about my (flea) issue and she told me exactly what to do to get rid of them. I would definitely recommend this place. I drove 40 minutes to get here and I'm so glad I did! UPDATE: After I had my cats groomed, Dana recommended me to buy a certain product (flea pesticide that was safe on animals) from a store near by, and was helpful in getting me directions and everything I needed. (Like I mentioned) What I didn't mention, as it happened after my initial review, is that after spraying the repellent and flea pesticide all over my room and apartment, was I started to have a horrible headache after laying in my room. I looked up the pesticide that she told me to get, which she told me to spay ON MY CAT, and all over my clothes and everything, is that permethrin is extremely toxic to cats. Needless to say, I relocated my cats afterwards and gave them baths. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because thankfully my cats did not die. Once it happened, I called Dana and they seemed shocked to hear it's toxic, because she re assured me it's safe. She said she would call me right back and I never heard from her again. I was worried he had a corneal abrasion. I took him to the vet the next day. He had bilateral eye infections, bilateral ear infections, an infection under his chin and the vet treated his gash above the eye. Not to mention he lost NINE pounds!! He also slept for 12 hours straight. He seemed traumatized. $171 vet bill. He has been to different camps for even longer periods of time, and I have never experienced this mistreatment of my dog. I tried calling the owner Holly, but she was out of town I was told. We did communicate via email, and she agreed to pay $65 for part of the vet bill. She said the infections were not from her facility. It is conjunctivitis! Its highly contagious! Of course, it was from them. Holly should have communicated what was going on with my dog. The infection in the eyes was obvious. They wiped his eyes when I got there. Holly, you need to communicate with the owners better. See the pictures attached. They were taken as soon as we got home.

She assumed my puppies age when she could have just asked how many weeks she is (and I said as much), she assumed where my puppy came from, she assumed I was lying about my puppy actually coming from a rescue. I told her the rescue said she was given a 5 way and she said "without proof, it's like the first vaccinations never happened and you're starting over again" in a tone like "so be ready for that!" After talking to that awful woman I found my adoption contract and it said the date she was given a 5 way shot. I then contacted the rescue about official proof of vaccination and then I called Westside only to find out they are not insane. I got an appt. really quickly and I'm so glad I found them. Their office was really nice compared to Village Animal on Cottage Hill. Everyone at Westside was helpful and pleasant and they are surprisingly affordable! Thanks for being so obnoxious on the phone so I'd keep calling around.
