Alan at the Payette location was very nice, I won't be seeing him again, but he will be the last person who sees me. Glad to have that settled, it's always hard to negotiate these prices in the midst of grief and stress. The prepayment is deposited into a trust account at a local bank, and if I want to use the prepayment to pay for another family members' cremation I can cancel the prepayment and get my money back anytime and set up a new prepayment plan for them. Spending thousands of dollars as some kind of message about how much you loved your relative only enriches the funeral home. Go cheap and ask your dear departed's forgiveness.

Beginning as Ontario's Chapel of the Roses and the Chapel of the Roses in Payette, the name of the chapels changed to the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in 1995 when Steve Wood and Dennis Haren purchased both chapels along with the Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Payette. The improvements made to the facilities won them the Beautification Award in 1996.In 1998 we added the Western Treasure Valley's first crematory to better serve those families wishing cremation. After Steve Wood's retirement in 2003, Dennis and Dawn Haren took over the full ownership and management of both chapels, the crematory and cemetery.Because of the increase in the families of the area's desire for cremation we realized that many of those families had their interment out of the area or chose to scatter the ashes and had no real place to go for memorialization or simply remembering the life of the one that lived. Because of this we created the Tribute Courtyard...

Flahiff Funeral Chapel was horrible! They didn't tell us when they were going to cremate my…read moregrandfather. After we had to call and ask if he had been cremated, they said his ashes would be shipped (we live in another state) the following Monday. We did not receive my grandfather's ashes until Friday. When my father opened the postal box (to pull out the death certificates) the flimsy box they called an urn was wide open and my grandfather's ashes were all over the place. My dad was in tears as he cleaned up his father's ashes. When I called the funeral home, Haley was very rude and not sympathetic at all. She said it was our fault and we needed to take it up with the post office! I asked for the manager to call me. When he did, Johnathan was the same as Haley. This place does not care AT ALL about your loved ones. I have had other positive experiences with other loved ones passing and this place was shocking. Please do not take your loved ones here if you would like them handled with love and compassion. These people are only working there for a paycheck and could care less about giving our loved ones a loving send off and they do not handle them with care. They said my dad should have taken a photo of the remains and then they would care. RIDICULOUS! Johnathan's idea of "taking care of the situation" is for me to bring my grandfather's remains to the post office and ask for a refund. Thanks for nothing Flahiffs!

I never write reviews but I would give this place 0 stars if I could…read more My grandmother passed away in Ontario after living there for many years and being a huge part in the community. My grandfather chose to honor her by using this local chapel after knowing the past owners. Unfortunately, the person in charge was out of town for the service and we were left with only incompetent people. We had 2 employees helping us who were not satisfactory at all. The man who works there that is sweaty and stuck in the 80's told us there was no AC or hope for AC in the dead of the Ontario summer. Not acceptable. He wouldn't even turn the fans on. We had to put in all the work to make the service somewhat decent but with no help from the employees. My family also ordered a headstone from this chapel in JUNE, and when my grandfather went to check this JANUARY they said they had "forgotten to order it". Choose another place where they will care for you and your family.
