Whether it be by phone, email, or text message, he is always ready with a quick response. Even if it is just a quick response to let us know we have been heard. I built houses myself in the 1990's and most of our custom homes took 6 months to build. We were delighted to find that Darin would be completing our house in a little over 4 months, even with the challenges of an Idaho winter. Our budget was flexible, and Darin was willing to stay within, or go beyond, to fulfill the quality we desired. We started with a basic home, but the upgrades offered were within the limits of what we were willing to spend. We are anticipating a beautiful home overlooking the mountains. We recently hired Golden Eagle Construction in Emmett, ID to convert a shop into a mother-in-law's…read morequarters. We were given a time frame of 60 days for completion of the entire project. The contract was signed on August 14, 2017. Today, as I write this review, it has been 169 days and the job is not completed. Throughout this exhausting process we were given many time frames for it's completion. As was always the case, it was delayed due to the general contractor not showing up when he said he would be here. Not only this, the workmanship was not the best. My recommendation to anyone that is thinking of hiring this company is to reconsider. In fact, my suggestion is to avoid this company at all costs. I recently moved to the area and knew no one to do the work. I thought it would be nice to use someone in this small town to help the local economy. After finding this builder, I spoke to a few neighbors that I just met and they said they heard of this company but didn't know too much about them. We decided to interview the owner and saw no reason not to use him. As the construction progressed, we learned more about Golden Eagle Construction and none of it was good. We have become friends with more people in the area and have heard many negative stories about this company. Also, we encountered several problems throughout the construction and needed to hire new subcontractors to either complete unfinished work or correct the mistakes of others. Some of the subcontractors that Golden Eagle originally brought in were not anyone I would personally hire. Sometimes his crew consisted of high school kids. On a few occasions, I needed to intervene and halt the work because they didn't have any idea of what they were doing. If I could give this company NO stars, I would. I hope that this was helpful. You would be smart to avoid hiring this company.
