Our mom recently passed away. She had lost so much weight that we were concerned that they wouldn't be able to make her look like herself so we would be able to let our family see her again. Tracy did such a wonderful job making our mom look like herself! It was such a relief to see how good she looked! Tracy was so good about taking multiple calls and changing up things at the last minute for us. He did a fantastic job and we're so thankful for him and all of those who helped make this difficult time easier for us.

Review a Funeral Home for my 400th review? Well, why not? This was definitely our "hour of need"…read moreand this place came through for my family. It was actually the third time in 4 years their services have been needed and because my sister-in-law was very satisfied with their service after her mother passed away, she turned to them again when her little brother died unexpectedly a year ago. On January 25th my big brother had a massive heart attack, totally unexpected since he had no previous heart conditions. They made it to the hospital but in spite of heroic efforts by the doctors, they were unable to save him. He was only 65. Our family is heartbroken to lose him. Again, Rector Funeral Home was contacted to assist in planning the services. When I got to town I went there for a viewing. No one else was there at the time I went . When I broke down, it was the receptionist who put her arms around me and comforted me, almost as if she was family. I really appreciated that. My brother had so many family, friends and acquaintances and was so well-thought of that they predicted more people would attend services than their chapel could hold. The director stepped forward and offered the church he attends for the services. They were right, the church was full. It was very heartwarming to see the outpouring of affection from all those who knew my brother and were sorry to lose him. The church ladies even prepared a lovely lunch for about 50 of the family and close friends following the services. We all hope we won't lose the ones we love. But we will, eventually, and it's comforting to know there is a place like this who will help you take care of your needs and provide you with as meaningful an experience as possible. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Rector.

Not to see someone else's family member wearing the clothes of my deceased grandmother. If I could give zero stars, I would! It was a absolute, complete disgrace! Understanding that people make mistakes, but to make light of the situation of switching BODIES-is not understanding at all. There was family that came a long way who, after having to wait, then come back, just to be pushed out again are in shock that a professional funeral home would be so disgustingly terrible. I cannot believe there is anything other than gross misconduct when it came to this situation. I do NOT recommend this business, and for it having such a popular name in town, I'm sure it was great at one time, but not now. Horrible, horrible, horrible service!

He disappeared in a three-day blizzard. His car was found near the cemetery. We didn't realize that he was still visiting the cemetery, long after the children grew up and left Amarillo. I'm so sorry for families who share their negative reports here. I hope they are anomalous and that the cemetery is respectfully maintained. Death is daunting. My wife was very concerned about these being mailed, but the funeral home "assured" us the package would be carefully tracked and require a signature when it reached us. We found the cremains tossed on our front porch with no signature required. Research through the post office revealed that Lighthouse had "waived" the requirement for a signature -- precisely the opposite of what they promised. If I ever had an opportunity to do business with a funeral home in Amarillo, it would not be Lighthouse. Very poor service!
