Blakely from Boxwell Brothers explained everything so clearly that we knew what to expect to some degree. At the crematorium I thought we would be setting in the parking lot as they took my son inside and that would be it. It was so much more. They allowed us to be very near as he was put into the retort. The door to the building was respectfully and gracefully lowered and we could have stood outside for as long as we wanted. The experience was not what I expected, it was a 1000 times better. Thank you Blakely and Boxwell Brothers.

When you get a call no parent should ever receive -- the call that your child is gone -- your world…read moreshatters and you don't even know where to begin. I got that call on a Monday, and on top of the heartbreak, another complication hit: my son had passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After calling multiple funeral homes in Albuquerque and gathering prices, I started calling funeral homes in Amarillo. The moment I spoke with Candice at Shafer Mortuary, everything changed. She immediately said, "Let me take care of everything from start to finish and take this off your hands." And she meant every word. Candice arranged for my son to be embalmed in Albuquerque, then personally drove all the way there, picked him up, and brought him home. She gave us the chance to have a short, meaningful viewing with him before cremation. She handled every single detail, start to finish, with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. What amazed me even more is that she charged us the same amount as if we had done everything in Albuquerque -- no extra fees, no surprises, just kindness. To Candice and Eric: thank you for taking care of Dallas, and for making an unbearable situation easier, seamless, and far less expensive than it could have been. Your compassion will stay with us forever.

Overall- I appreciate the diligence their team provides when you have your fine jewelry repaired. They are trustworthy, honest, and reliable! When you walk into the store you feel a bit cramped but it's simply because they have so many great cabinets full of authentic diamonds and lovely jewelry, along with cute personal and home items! They were very honest with me on the timing of my repairs and offered estimates before I conclusively decided to repair the rings (or not). I am thankful they're in business and have been for decades in Amarillo, Texas! And I have yet to find a better jewelry cleaner! I overheard them telling a customer that their cleaning process also involves steaming. Wow my rings were returned better than new. I'll be back!
