We stayed at Sun Outdoors, Seashore Campground 10/24-10/26 in Cabin V13. 10/25, I woke up with a…read morefew bites. 10/26 I woke up covered in bites. 10/27, went to urgent care, with no mention of my recent travels and they asked if I had traveled and immediately diagnosed me with bed bug bites. Upon reaching out to Seashore they dismissed me and told me in so many words "Oh well." They told me a bed bug investigation was done on 10/15 and no bed bugs were seen. After some of our own research and a call to the health department. It was discovered that on 10/15 a bed bug investigation was done by a Western sales representative, not a technician. The sales representative, unqualified, found no bed bugs on 10/15. On 10/29 an email was sent to the CMC Health Department by us; to try and get to the bottom of the situation. On 10/30, a visit from a qualified Western technician and the health department, bed bugs were found. As more information was uncovered it was found that the Western visit on 10/15 was prompted after a woman left and reported bed bug bites as well. Seashore Campground has done nothing to even try and attempt to rectify this situation. They have tried to cover this situation up with lies and avoidance. No one will return our phone calls or emails. We are now concerned the bugs have been brought into our personal home and will be facing a hefty extermination bill if this is the case. This is both negligence on Seashore and Western. Be careful before you book your stay. They aren't taking preventative measures against bed bugs. Only "dealing" with problems as they arise -- and half ass*d at that. The managers are rude and dismissive. They told me they handled this situation with the "Golden Rule" in mind -- treating others as you would like to be treated. I am not sure if constant scratching and bug bites on your face, arms and legs is in the top ten choices of how a person would like to be treated -- but if they had proper hospitality training they would have learned this in their first lesson. Shame on your Sun Outdoors, and honestly Western too. Do better. Cape May County is a small town -- what goes around comes around.

The campground has soft gravel for dogs. It is beautiful and large. It has a place for fishing. It can fun for golf carts and bike riding. There isn't many bugs here either. This picture is a very small area.

Simple but well maintained campground easy to reach. Nice for kids, but…read more.. Problem was the incredibly rude office staff. The last dot of my trip here my kids wanted to go to the pool one last time. So we focused on getting the RV packed up then went up to the front parking area to checkout while the kids went swimming. Literally no one else in the pool this time in the morning. After about 5 min this angry "Karen" from the office comes out yelling at us saying we're no longer guests and need to leave since we checked out. She said she'd be nice and give us 15 min to leave. Mind you it's not even checkout time yet I didn't have to tell them anything. On top of that what's 2 kids getting one last swim in as their vacation ends harming that you need to come out and literally yell at us?

All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, especially a huge 'Shout Out' to Alicia and Theresa. Theresa helped us on making changes on our reservation before we arrived. We are planning to stay for 2 months and she was able to secure us in only 2 sites within such a long period of time. And I have to say Alicia 'rocks'! She is very knowledgable, super friendly, nice and helpful. She is the Go-to person in the office. She is awesome! I asked to borrow an outdoor broom, she called maintenance and had it delivered to my site! How nice was that!!! :) As for the campground, it is very clean and I love that they have gravels and grass. We have stayed at a few other KOAs and most of them have dirt ground. I am grateful that I don't have to wipe my dog's paws every time he climbs back in the trailer. The site maybe a little small if you have a bigger rig. As for us, it is perfect. I see a lot of guys maintaining the campground. I think they are doing a great job! Bathroom/Shower is clean and water pressure of the shower is great. There is No negative experience for us and I am very happy that we found this campground.

Mays landing campground is a small campground with only a few amenities. The pool is usually closed…read moreearly or closed for maintenance and when it's not I find it pretty gross. The mini golf course was recently painted to look better but is a safety hazard for any who attempt to play. I fell through the wood on one of the holes and that definitely wasn't fixed just covered. The laundry on site is a fire waiting to happen. I'm pretty sure the dryer ducts have never been cleaned and there is lint everywhere. In the back of the park there is a small pond near the tent sites that creates a nice view and some catch and release fishing but the water is very dirty. I actually ordered an E-Coli/Coliform test kit and turned the positive results into park management. Even after a community meeting no one was informed and nothing was done to prevent anyone from playing in it. A couple of kids got stuck in the mud the next weekend. (Picture of the test results attached) The people camping in this campground are some of the most welcoming people I have ever met. They are always there to help if you need a hand and try to look out for each other the best they can. (Most are seasonal and only there on weekends) They have a great time with anyone who wants to hang out and on most weekends you can expect good music from DJ Dirt Patch (Chris). The park employees seem to have no clue how an rv park works. You can expect to not get the site you booked. Ever. They were always trying to put big campers in little spots or small campers in big spots and had no method to their madness. For a while they allowed a large group of homeless people to stay in tents even after they were caught stealing wood from a seasonal site by seasonal residents. Our billing got messed up and even though it was an easy fix it almost got us charged double. For stays over 30 days electric is metered and charged at $0.21/kwhr even though that's way higher than the rate the power company supplying the area charges. I've been told this is illegal for them to charge extra but haven't verified it myself. Your meter reading also doesn't include start and end readings just a number they say you used. Basic maintenance goes undone. Septic is constantly a problem, there are small tanks on each site and sometimes 2-3 sites for one tank. These are always overflowing spilling waste water all over the ground. Security is a terrible joke. One person driving around on a golf cart or in a truck a couple times a night then leaves early. During our stay multiple campers were broken into, damaged (locks busted out, outside storage bins dented and broken, etc.) and lots people missing items stolen from their sites. My biggest issue with this park was how quick excuses were made to why things weren't taken care of. "My hands are tied by corporate" "we're doing all we can" "it's just not in the budget" etc. When you did have an issue management was often working from home and not on the premises causing you to have to deal with a lady named patty. Patty seemed to always have a chip on her shoulder and was never pleasant to deal with. Most of the campers we talked to have had multiple issues with her alone. She was often throwing a fit, being vindictive, or just down right rude. Rules didn't apply to her or her family (who all have seasonal campsites here) but for people she didn't like she would go out of her way to enforce rules that weren't even broken or even make up new ones. It often seemed that even though she wasn't a manager she was pulling the strings and making all the decisions behind managements back. There is no doubt she is the root of all evil in this campground and the reason behind most of the drama. If you're looking for a safe park for your family to enjoy a weekend out this is not the place. I would save yourself the headache and go ANYWHERE else but here.

If you're looking for a campground that's dirty and disorganized, you found it. The campers on one…read morehalf of the campground are friendly but if you venture to far to the other side you will get rude comments and dirty looks. Goose poop covers the walk ways surrounding the bathroom/laundry facilities and the poor white geese look beyond sick. Staff feed them regularly right outside the facilities so they never leave. When I was doing laundry I noticed a smell, and a quick look behind the dryers explains it, fire hazard waiting to happen. Staff are never too quick to fill your request, unless it's an overflowing septic tank, in which case they hose it down and call it good. Also don't expect help backing your rig in unless you want them to quite you into a tree that rips your awning off(we watched this happen with a fellow camper who we then helped). We stayed for less than two months and if it hadn't been for the friendly campers on one half of the campground we would have been out after the first week. Do yourself a favor and a pay a few more dollars to stay at one of the many other campgrounds in the area.
