Wading Pines River runs between the campground & Treasure Island
Jenni W.

7/26-7/30/2020 My husband & I stayed in site 151; it was flat, mostly shade, very roomy & across from the dog park (perfect when you have 2 pups). We loved the location, right in the middle of everything. The pool was refreshing, busier on Sunday but empty by Wednesday, make sure to bring pool floats & a chair if you are plan to stay a while (no chairs due to Covid). The Community Center with picnic & large fire pit areas looked wonderful but closed due to Covid. I was amused to see the old school playground, haven't seen or been on a seesaw in years! The Wading Pine River was nice & cool, my pup had a blast splashing around on the mini beach landing by the Treasure Island Bridge. We forgot our tubes & the store was sold out so make sure you bring them. We wondered briefly on Treasure Island, make sure to spray yourself with Repel 40 Deet beforehand. My husband had fun fishing at the catch & release pond. The gazebo on the bridge was a nice & shaded place to enjoy the fishing pond & to people watch fellow campers. It was too hot to take advantage of the basketball court, volleyball court or horseshoe pits, maybe on our next visit. We didn't use the bathrooms (we have a TT) but they looked clean & stocked. Everyone in the office/store was friendly & welcoming. The store was well stocked even at the end of a very busy Christmas in July weekend. I would highly recommend Wading Pines for all campers. Whether you have kids, pets, tents, TT, 5th Wheel or RVs. Happy Camping & Safe Travels!

Always a fun time at wading pines...love the cabins..always good bands on Saturday nights..

We been coming to Wading Pines for over 24 years we absolutely love this campground,so many great memories here. Staff is awesome n always helpful,so much to do here in my opinion one of the best campgrounds around.

Very friendly staff! Pet friendly! Great amenities! We spent the weekend camping with our dog and we enjoyed ourselves. We forgot to pack a few items, but luckily the store had the things we needed. This is a great campground for families, a lot of events and activities to do. The lots were fairly close together and we went on a busy weekend so we did not have that much privacy, but nonetheless still enjoyed ourselves very much.

We chose a camp site on the water. It was very nice and peaceful until the people started filling in. Sites were kind of expensive and very close together. People were supposed to keep the noise down after 10pm. But that was not the case our neighbors were 15 drunk guys. Who were screaming and fighting with each other till 4:00AM both friday and saturday night. Lucky for me im a heavy sleeper but very rude none the less.

Highly recommend camping here. We stayed in a cabin - it was super cozy and the AC was a nice touch. Rent some kayaks and check out the surrounding area, it's a nature lovers paradise.

Our cabin on the edge of the woods. The cedar creek is behind the trees.

We are currently traveling the country and I can truly say that even two months in, this is the…read moredirtiest and least friendly campground we have been to. The only reason it isn't a one, is because if you are self contained (not using their bathroom) and not having to ever speak to management, it is like any other campground. Management is very passive aggressive when they speak to you. The electrical boxes are outdated and do not include 20 amp plugs (every single other campground we have been to has had 20 amp plugs). The showers were horrendous!! I will attach pictures of the showers for you, as they are truly disgusting (I am not referring to the water stains from well water, I am referring to the true dirtiness). When you step in the shower, they have a mat on the floor and you can here dirt crunch under your feet the entire time. I truly believe they have NEVER rinsed under the mat. Once they decide to be a bit more friendly and a whole lot cleaner, they will be much better off.

Spent Labor Day weekend at this campground and am very happy about my experience…read more Organized, attentive, and welcoming staff made reservation process easy and hassle free. It's high season for campgrounds during this time of year with everyone trying to enjoy remaining summer days and finding a good spot may pose a challenge. My girlfriend called Turtle Run and the stuff got us quickly on the books. The campground is located on the banks of Wading River and you totally get that feel that you are in the woods. Heck, I even did not have any cell coverage! For those like me looking for a way to unplug and enjoy getting back to nature consider this a great spot. Closest shopping center is half an hour away. The campground is well run and organized. A few amenities worth mentioning: - clean bathhouses (restrooms, showers) - on-site laundry - games and fun activities for kids and adults - deli offering delicious meals Accommodations vary and range from a tent site, to trailers and cabins. We stayed in a "primitive" trailer, which was $90/night and it totally hit the spot. Ample room for two people along with your personal picnic table, fire ring, grill, and a parking spot. You can buy wood from them for $5 a bundle which is a good deal.
