Located right off the beach!

You need to understand what you're signing up for when staying here. It's a fairly priced, oceanfront hotel that is literally falling apart. The place has so much potential but no one is keeping it up. The towels and linens were clean. I think our biggest complaint was the lack of customer service. There is no daily housekeeping/maid service here unless you pay $35 per cleaning. We were never told this...well, finally upon our third visit to the front desk we were. Beach tags are provided by the hotel...great! except they never told us this and we purchased on the beach. We asked for a credit after learning from other guests that beach tags are provided. The front desk girl deferred me to the manager who wouldn't be in until after our stay ended and shockingly, the manager refunded us without a fight! In the bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are supposed to be provided in dispensers on the wall...great! but 2 of the 3 were empty. There is no ice machine on the property but we learned from other patrons that you can ask at the front desk for a bag of ice. It would have been nice if all these little things were explained to us at check in or listed somewhere instead of having to learn by chatting with others halfway through our stay! Parking: 1 spot is provided per room, street parking is available for extra cars and it is easily found and free! Wi fi: provided at hotel whether you're in the room or on the property. I had a lot of problems using my cell phone for internet (with my data plan) while on the beach. On the weekends, I couldn't use my data at all due to all the thousands of other people in the area trying to use their phones as well. On the weekdays, I didn't have any issue. Bar/restaurant: I think it should be noted that there is a bar and grill attached to the hotel (no affiliation) and they have live music daily. All day on weekends and 6-10pm (check https://www.lagunagrillandrumbar.com/entertainment for specifics) on weekdays. After the band ends, a DJ may also play. I just think patrons should know this in case they like to go to bed early, etc. You can most definitely clearly hear the music in the rooms. Overall, I would stay here again...it had the basics and is a great location...but do not come here if you are looking to impress anyone or like to stay in nice places!

I don't have the words to describe this place, but toilet paper is definitely needed. Do not stay here. I repeat, do not stay here at all. This place is dated, dilapidated and smells. The carpet is old and stinky the bathroom is nasty the bed I would not want to sleep in it looks lumpy there's much more.....MO NO NO

We stayed here for my best friend's wedding. Its not worth the money we paid. The bride was initially given a room that had a giant hole in the wall. We stayed in the villas, the hallways and elevator were hot and humid, didn't help with our hair and make up. Almost everything was broken in our room. Doors didn't work. Dispensers in bathroom were empty. Bottom of flimsy tub felt like you could fall through. Almost ALL the drawers fell onto my feet out when I opened them. Ripped curtains. Sticky toys on the ceiling. Missing door knobs. BALCONY DOORS WERE SCREWED SHUT. To elaborate on that it seems the balconies could collapse if you stepped foot on them. Broken chairs. You can tell they don't send staff over to the villas to check the rooms or maintain them.

Ripped curtains

All I can say is what happen to this place ! My family has been coming here for years . It's a shame to see this property deteriorate. If this hotel wasn't in such a great location no one would be staying here . The manager Paul completely unprofessional. Here's some photos .

Envelope that was given (holds room keys); didn't even bother to provide a clean or new one

Issues with refrigerator (leaking), microwave (making noise/not working properly), and phone during stay (off the wall and not working; had to continuously go to front desk to relay issues and concerns. new staff unfamiliar with proper, guidelines, and lacked polite/professional customer service at desk.

They have a Trump sign facing the ocean. If I had seen that when I drove up, I would've known it was a terribly-run establishment.

I was here in the off season so wasn't able to go into local beach water or rooftop pool, but had opportunity to visit both. Much of the local shops and restaurants were closed or opened only limited hours during this off season, but could see the potential in season for more. The gym onsite was sufficient enough for my 3 visits during my 5 day/6 night stay. Equipment all functioning, clean and adorned with personal TV monitors. Earphones to be obtained gratis from front desk. Unit was pretty well kept, with only a few minor distressed spots here and there from previous occupant usage. All in all a convenient location for anyone fortunate enough to capture a unit like myself. Was able to get in some gaming, dining, Tanger Outlet and local shopping, historical site visit and some well deserved R&R before the holiday. Lovely experience with very cordial staff from front desk, doorman, shuttle driver and housekeeping staff. Look forward to seeing if I could get a unit during prime season.

The day before we arrived, we called and asked if it would be possible to upgrade rooms. They told us nothing is a guarantee, but that they would certainly make note of it in our reservation. To our surprise, when we arrived, we were upgraded to a Penthouse Suite! Our room was relatively clean, nicely decorated, a wonderful view and included a mini kitchen. We are fully enjoying our stay, here and would definitely come back. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - resort is directly on the beach - beautiful and quiet NJ shore town, nothing like Wildwood or Seaside - the staff is all incredibly kind and helpful, they really want to make sure you are happy - restaurant in parking lot, lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance - room is comfortable and reasonably clean - nice rooftop view in penthouse suite - indoor pool - washer/dryer available for a smal fee - small game room - activities for children - drink and snack vending machines on site - nicely kept hotel all around - beach tags included Cons: - bed is a bit bouncy/springy - floor could have been swept a bit better in room - restaurant on site uses hotel parking lot for patrons' cars...the valet people park cars awfully close and in awkward places making it difficult to navigate for those trying to leave the hotel parking lot. I found it absurd that a huge truck was parked directly behind my car. I could barely get out and was within inches of hitting this truck. Thankfully I'm a descent driver. The hotel should really look into a better, safer...more sane parking option. - water pressure isn't very good - you have to call the front desk if you'd like ice - no daily room service, I understand this is a resort, but they charge $27 for "tidying up" your room, if you request it

New carpets in the lobby and updated guest rooms/hallways. Nice! * The Deck Bar (outdoor bar) - the only non-private bar on the water in Atlantic City * Strong wi-fi in guest rooms Cons: * This is the SMOKIEST casino in Atlantic City. Your hair will reek. * In-room dining only available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. * Aged clientele (lots of seniors). * Barn-style guest room bathroom door that offers zero sound privacy. * The Deck Bar (yes, this is both a pro and con). The bands (and their music) are redundant year after year. You will not get lost in here. The casino floor is relatively small, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! *****THIS IS A LONG READ*****…read more This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I must say, my check-in experience was horrible! This is my birthday weekend, so I came alone for a little R&R and self-care. I did not expect to be treated as horribly as I was! I arrived about 3:30 and went to the kiosk for express check-in, only to realize I had left my wallet in my car. I went over to the bell hop desk, where I was nicely greeted by Mario, to ask if I could leave my belongings there while I went to retrieve my wallet. Mario explained to me that he could hold my things, but had to grab a cart for them and give me a ticket as standard protocol. While I waited for him to return, the most RUDE, NASTY, ARROGANT, IMPOLITE, IGNORANT male comes to me yelling, "MA'AM YOU CAN'T LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE!" I told him to calm down and stop talking to me like that! I then tried explaining the situation to him, and what Mario told me, but before I could finish, he cut me off and yells... "Well he's new! That's why he told you to leave your stuff here! I'M THE BELL CAPTAIN! HE SHOULD'VE CAME AND GOT ME! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE YOUR STUFF HERE, YOU NEED A TICKET!" I asked him why he was yelling! There was no need for that, especially if I'm not speaking to him that way! He replies while flailing his arms around, "OH HERE WE GO! HERRRRRE WE GO!" I tried again to explain that Mario had already told me that, but Mr. "Bell Captain" who I later found out name is Saleem, was so bent on letting me know his position that he couldn't even hear what I was saying. Mario then comes back with the cart, and he proceeds to yell at Mario! "DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN! WHO AM I??? WHO AM I ??" Mario and another Bellman quietly says, "Bell Captain." He then says, "YEAH SO THAT'S WHY Y'ALL CHECK WITH ME FIRST!" I stepped in and told him that if he's a real leader, he doesn't have to blast who he is, (not to mention it was on his name tag) and he should not be embarrassing his employees publicly. He could have talked to him in the back and let him know what he did wrong. I didn't need to see that! I also told him, I'm not sure if he's having a bad day, but there was no reason for him to behave this way! He starts yelling...again...."I'M GREAT! ALL MY BILLS ARE PAID! I GOT MONEY IN THE BANK! I'M GOOD!" I don't understand what that had to do with anything but whatever. He then went back to yelling about him being the Bell Captain and what the protocol was for me leaving my stuff there. CLEARLY he missed that Mario did the right thing from the beginning! Mr. Bell Captain just felt the need to power trip in that moment for whatever reason. I told him he needed to listen and not interrupt when someone is speaking because he would have known that it was handled correctly! He put his hand up and says, I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU!" I looked at Mario, thanked him for helping me and told him he did nothing wrong. This situation made me so angry that I burst into tears! To add insult to injury, after all the drama, I was waiting for over an hour to get my belongings because SOMEONE put the incorrect room number in the system. I found that out because I had to go back down to the lobby to see what was going on with my things. I was late for my dinner reservation, and my night was pretty much ruined. I couldn't fully enjoy my dinner the way I'd hoped to. I actually cried while at the restaurant because I was still so frustrated with how everything had gone. Not only did I come here to rest and relax, I came her to try and release some of my grief from the loss of my Baby Brother. Hopefully my spa experience will be much better. Shout out to "T" whom I believe was the Operations Manager. He helped me calm down and agreed to address Saleem and the issue. However, I wanted this situation to be documented. NOBODY should ever be able to get away with mistreating ANYONE no matter their position. I WILL be pursuing this further until I'm satisfied with the outcome.

We arrived pretty late and the check-in line was long, but it moved quickly so that was a plus. First thing to note: the casino definitely smells like a full-on cigarette campaign, so just be prepared for that. Aside from that, there are tons of options for food, shopping, and of course plenty of ways to gamble. The staff was nice across the board, and the bartenders were especially friendly and made us some great drinks. We stayed one night and the room was huge, easily enough space for four people in a standard room. The bathroom was really nice, and there's a mini fridge in the room which is always convenient. Parking is not complimentary, so keep that in mind. The pool was closed (not sure why), which was a little disappointing. But overall, it's a nice casino, reasonably priced for a quick trip, and I'd definitely visit again. Bonus points for being both dog-friendly and kid-friendly.
