I've stayed at Marriott properties for approximately 12 years and have accumulated 800+ nights with Marriott, so I have a pretty good understanding of the standards I expect from the brand. Unfortunately, my recent stay at the Borgata was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had. We checked in Saturday. That evening, we went to put food in our refrigerator and discovered food belonging to a previous guest still inside the fridge. Gross, but I initially brushed it off as an isolated housekeeping oversight. The next morning, things got significantly worse. The TV in our room wasn't working, and when my friend went to take a shower, she discovered a significant amount of someone else's hair sitting in the shower drain. There was also no soap in the bathroom hand-soap dispenser, so we had to call to have that addressed. At that point, we went to the front desk and spoke with Connor, a manager. We explained everything, and he was apologetic and told us he would put a $100 food & beverage credit on our room and send housekeeping up to properly clean the room. We appreciated the response and went back upstairs. Except housekeeping never came. After waiting, I called the concierge to check on the request, only to be told that there was no housekeeping request in the system. The concierge then put one in and I asked how long it would take because we needed to get ready for dinner. I was actually told that I could take a tissue and remove the hair from the shower drain myself. I'm sorry, but absolutely not. I paid to stay in a hotel room. I should not be cleaning another guest's hair out of the shower drain myself. Eventually, housekeeping did come. However, after the housekeeper left, the hair was STILL in the shower drain. I literally had to follow the housekeeper into the hallway and point out that the hair had not been removed. This is not about expecting perfection. Hotels make mistakes. It is about basic cleanliness and the fact that we repeatedly gave the property opportunities to fix the problem, and somehow the most obvious issue was still not addressed. Then, to make matters worse, I received our folio after checking out and discovered that the $100 food & beverage credit Connor specifically promised us was never applied. So now I'm left wondering what, exactly, was being done to resolve the situation. I have stayed at an enormous number of Marriott properties over the years and have never experienced this combination of poor housekeeping, lack of communication, and failure to follow through on a commitment made by management. Food left in the refrigerator. Hair from a previous guest in the shower drain. Missing soap. Broken TV. Housekeeping request not entered. Being told to clean the hair myself. Hair still left in the drain after housekeeping. And finally, the promised $100 credit not applied. That is an extraordinary number of basic failures for one stay. The Borgata is a major property, and as a Marriott-affiliated hotel, I expected significantly better.

There are 85 rooms and suites within Caesars Atlantic City on the Centurion Tower's top three floors. This is the Nobu Hotel. I am not a huge fan of AC so take that into account, meaning four stars here might be the best of the best. The check in process is amazing. With only 85 rooms there is no such thing as a long line--well, at least when I was there. The weird part, however, is the Centurion Tower is quite a walk from that check-in desk. Floor access is controlled by your keys, which is actually a welcome feature here. The rooms themselves are comfortable, have great views, and while staying there I found nothing to complain about. Overall, for AC this was a great experience.

The manger apologized told me the best she could do was give me a $75 food and drink voucher just charge it to the room. So I went to Starbucks my wife ordered a tall refresher for $10 that's all we used We went to check out the next day and STARBUCKS had charged $32 to the room instead of $10. It was a HORRIBLE experience staying there.

Rooms are clean and modern. I loved the gorgeous marble bathroom, and the bed was super plush and comfortable. The resort has plenty to do on the property. There are tons of seated and fast-casual restaurants and bars. We had drinks at Villian & Saint, dinner at Amada and brunch at Harper's. All were great. Loved the ocean views at Amada. The Eclipse indoor / outdoor pool was really nice. I was here on an unseasonably warm day, and it's nice that they keep this pool open. It seems like most other resorts close their outdoor pool. Even if it's chilly out you could always hang in the hot tub! The views overlooking the ocean are 10/10. If you don't want to hang by the pool there are plenty of other nice outdoor spaces that face the water. I loved hanging out on the rocking chair and could've posted up there for hours. Staff was friendly and let us check in early. Parking was a reasonable $15. This is a splurge - we stayed at the Tropicana the next night and it was a compltely different experience. I live in Las Vegas and come from a hospitality background, so I'll admit I probably notice hotel details more than the average traveler. That said, I also know every city has its own personality, and Atlantic City is definitely not Vegas nor should it be. I arrived around 8 PM after flying into Philadelphia and making the drive over, so between the long travel day and the time difference, I was exhausted. Check-in was easy, and I was given a room on the 35th floor with an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean, boardwalk, and city. The room was very clean, well maintained, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. I ordered room service that first night, which was super convenient because the TV has the room service menu and other hotel information right there. I placed my order, jumped in the shower, got dressed, and by the time I was finished the doorbell was ringing. Perfect timing! The food was delicious, and the portions were definitely large enough to share. The next morning I went to the gym, and I have to give Ocean major credit here, the gym is AMAZING. It was also surprisingly busy early in the morning. My only suggestion would be opening it earlier than 6 AM. I'm a 4 or 5 AM gym person when I'm traveling so I can work out, get ready, and still have plenty of time before the workday starts. Having Starbucks inside the property is another big plus, and being able to use the Starbucks app to pay made it even better. I also had brunch at Harper's. The food was good and, once again, the portions were huge. Later I walked the boardwalk, rode the Ferris wheel, and really enjoyed getting to experience Atlantic City for the first time. For dinner, I ate at LaScala's Fire. Our waiter was great and provided excellent service. The food itself was a little under-seasoned for my taste, so I had to doctor it up a bit, but service-wise I had no complaints. One thing I really liked from a security standpoint is that you have to scan your room key before entering the hotel elevator area. The property itself is HUGE. I honestly don't think I explored even half of it during my stay. Since I visited during the off season, it was a little quieter, but I can imagine this place is a completely different animal during peak season. Overall, I had a very good stay. The views were stunning, my room was clean and comfortable, the food portions were generous, the gym was fantastic, and I slept great both nights. If I had one area of feedback, it would be that some of the employee interactions felt a little less warm or personable than what I'm used to. But coming from Las Vegas hospitality, I also recognize that Vegas has its own very particular style of service. Atlantic City has more of that East Coast, straight to the point personality, you know exactly where you stand! I noticed Ocean has some pretty rough reviews, but that really wasn't my experience. I think sometimes people walk into a casino resort expecting every single detail, comp, or interaction to go exactly the way they envisioned. I went in ready to experience a new city for what it was, and I genuinely enjoyed my stay. I would absolutely stay at Ocean again on another Atlantic City trip.

The room was bright enough to make me feel hopeful again. The furniture looked new, the bedding cleaner than the soul of a saint. You could almost smell the paint still trying to dry. The bathroom was beautiful. There was a shower stall with a fake marble bench. I sat on it and felt like an emperor, briefly. Then I noticed a little mold blooming around the shower head. A small rebellion. There were stains on the wall too, ghostly handprints of humidity. That's how things go in Atlantic City, shiny today, peeling tomorrow. My view was of the old Trump Plaza, or what's left of it. A carcass. Concrete ribs showing. It stared at me every morning like an old man who still thinks he's handsome. Not much Caesars can do about that. But it reminded me, again and again, that this city is more memory than place now. The casino felt haunted, though not by spirits, but by the absence of them. Slot machines blinked for no one. A few people were sleeping in their chairs, which seemed fair enough. The table games were quiet as a church on Tuesday. I used to work security at the Trump Marina, grave shift, back when things were merely dying instead of dead. I recognized the silence. It hums in your bones. Most of the restaurants were closed. Tazza Cafe was holding down the fort, serving decent coffee and sandwiches in a space that felt like the corner of an airport food court that had gone to community college. Gordon Ramsay's Pub & Grill was running too. They served over-priced shepherd's pie and image, but little more. Nobu opened on Thursday, like a movie star showing up to an empty theater. Parking was an adventure through the absurd. You go through the Temple Garage, cross Arkansas Street like a pilgrim, then slip into the Colosseum Garage to park. It felt like a test to see who really wanted to be there. Most employees seemed to have mastered the art of avoidance, the kind of indifference that comes from too many shore town winters. The exception was the front desk team, who were unfailingly kind, efficient, and seemed genuinely happy to see another breathing soul. So here's the moral. The rooms in the Centurion Tower are beautiful, even luxurious. If you can snag a midweek off-season rate, it's worth it for the comfort of the bed and the quiet view of decay. But the magic is gone from Caesars Atlantic City. What remains is a gleaming room in a tired city, a testament to how we keep trying to polish what is already sinking.

For the entire weekend -- from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning -- there was no hot water. They weren't able to shower at all. That's not just uncomfortable, it's unsanitary, especially when you're far from home with no easy way to leave. The hallways were hot and super humid, and the air quality was awful. On top of that, a power outlet in their room didn't even work, and the scariest part -- there was brown, sticky condensation (they described it smelling like old cigarettes) dripping onto their bedsheets and phone charger. That could've caused a fire. They told the hotel staff more than once, but no one seemed to care. No real response. No solution. Not even an apology. It's frustrating and honestly upsetting to know my family was stuck in that situation and felt ignored. They were excited for a fun weekend and ended up stuck in an uncomfortable, potentially unsafe room, with no hot water, and no support from the hotel. Very disappointed in Marriott for allowing this kind of thing to happen. I expected better from such a big name.

Bally's Atlantic City -- Good Blackjack, Bad Parking, Elevator Tried to Kill Me…read moreVisited: Friday, July 31, 2026 -- roughly 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 3/5 Bally's Atlantic City still feels like a classic gambler's casino, and I mean that as a compliment. Not a nightclub disguised as a casino. Not a luxury lifestyle palace where blackjack has been reduced to four tables next to an aromatherapy lounge. Bally's feels like a place built for people who actually came to gamble, drink and periodically question their financial judgment. The blackjack was the highlight. I found $15 tables with standard 3:2 blackjack payouts, which instantly earned my respect. No surrender, but otherwise a perfectly playable game. Better yet, most of the players actually knew what they were doing. No donk-fest. No splitting tens because Grandma appeared in a dream. No hitting a 14 against a dealer 6 because "the vibes said so." The East Coast table energy was excellent--talking, laughing, ball-busting, collective groaning and the occasional spiritual crisis when the dealer somehow manufactures a 21 out of six cards. Two dealers stood out: Russell, originally from D.C., and Stephen, a local New Jersey guy. Both were entertaining, personable and ran a good table. Good pace, good banter, no nonsense. The craps table was also fun, except apparently the dice had joined organized crime. Nobody got much of a deep run going, including yours truly. I controlled the dice twice and produced two legendary performances: Roll. Seven-out. Twice. That is not craps. That is basically a direct deposit into Bally's operating account. Upstairs there's also a cool rotating bar overlooking the casino floor, and I had a very good gin and tonic there while reflecting on my relationship with probability and poor decision-making. Now for the deductions. First: $20 parking. Twenty bucks to park so I can go inside and voluntarily hand you MORE money? That sucks. Second, and much more importantly, the elevator on the way out nearly turned my foot into an orthopedic case study. I was wearing flip-flops and stepping into the elevator behind a family that had just arrived. My right foot moved forward and, at literally the last second, the elevator suddenly jerked upward what felt like about six inches. My toe slammed into the raised edge, I tripped, and momentum plus gravity sent me forward in a full-body swan dive directly onto the poor woman standing in front of me. There was no dignity left. None. One second I'm leaving Bally's. The next I'm basically performing an involuntary Olympic diving routine into an unsuspecting tourist. Thankfully it ended up being more comical than catastrophic, and nobody appeared seriously hurt. But that elevator movement was absolutely concerning. If a lift can shift noticeably while people are boarding, that is something management needs to inspect immediately. Because today it's my toe and an embarrassing midair embrace with a stranger. Tomorrow, if something mechanical goes seriously wrong, it could be a legitimate safety and liability issue. So Bally's gets 3 stars. The gambling itself? I liked it. Good blackjack rules, competent players, fun dealers, energetic atmosphere, decent craps action and a cool rotating bar. The $20 parking irritated me. The elevator attempting to convert me into human origami cost them another star. Come for the 3:2 blackjack. Stay for the East Coast gambling energy. And apparently watch your damn feet when entering the elevator.

9/13 Bed bugs…read more.. My sister-in-law and I needed to take care of business in Atlantic City and we decided to stay at Bally's. To our surprise the room had bed bugs. The following morning my sister-in-law had an emergency meeting she needed to attend so she left me the responsibility of reporting the incident. Initially, I called the front desk to report the incident, they told me that I needed to file a report. No problem, I go to the front desk upon my departure, I tell the attendant my concern, she reports that SECURITY needs to take my information to start the filing/complaint process. Cool, no problem, strange...but no problem. As I'm waiting for security, a manager, I believe, walks to me and asks can he help me. I explain my concern, he reports that filing an incident report was the correct thing to do. He reported something about reimbursing me but seemingly his concern about the bed bug seemed minimized. At this point, a security person walks over and I explained to her my concern. She takes a picture of my sister-in-law's Bally's card, takes a picture of my license and states that my sister-in-law should file a report as well. I leave the hotel, contact my sister-in-law, tell her what she needed to do and leave the rest to her. The following day she attempts to contact Bally's as a follow up and they tell her, the Bally's rewards member, that there's nothing that she needs to do. So what's the resolution...none to this point. My resolution is that it will be a cold day in hell before I step foot back into their hotel/casino. But if you decide to do so...check the linen before you go to sleep.
