Checked me in extremely late past 4pm. People serving breakfast were nasty. Beds were extremely high off the ground.

April at the front desk is amazing! Super friendly & helpful. Room was clean, for the time I was in there, it was quiet, but there again, it was mid-afternoon. Location was perfect! Comfy bed & pillows. And the view from the window was wonderful! The bad side - the several hours I was there, it was 84 degrees the entire time. I realize I was in the next to the top floor & science tells us that heat rises. The thermostat would only go down to 65, no more. Due to my plans changing & me being able to stay with a friend at a nearby hotel, I didn't bring it up to the front desk, but had I stayed the night, I definitely would have. I do recommend this location, but doubt I'll be back in AC for anything. read more

I'm writing this on behalf of my family who stayed at this hotel recently. They came from New York City by bus to attend a concert they'd been looking forward to for a long time, but their experience at the Marriott completely ruined the trip. For the entire weekend -- from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning -- there was no hot water. They weren't able to shower at all. That's not just uncomfortable, it's unsanitary, especially when you're far from home with no easy way to leave. The hallways were hot and super humid, and the air quality was awful. On top of that, a power outlet in their room didn't even work, and the scariest part -- there was brown, sticky condensation (they described it smelling like old cigarettes) dripping onto their bedsheets and phone charger. That could've caused a fire. They told the hotel staff more than once, but no one seemed to care. No real response. No solution. Not even an apology. It's frustrating and honestly upsetting to know my family was stuck in that situation and felt ignored. They were excited for a fun weekend and ended up stuck in an uncomfortable, potentially unsafe room, with no hot water, and no support from the hotel. Very disappointed in Marriott for allowing this kind of thing to happen. I expected better from such a big name. read more

Had to wait to check in until just after 4pm, but staff was helpful in getting parking pass so we could enjoy the boardwalk and beach until then. Room was clean and spacious. This was our second time staying at this hotel, it is more cost-effective for being as close to the boardwalk as it is. We had a few bad experiences here this time unfortunately. First, our AC unit was not working. They sent somebody in and did fix it within an hour. Then when I went to take a shower, the water was scorching hot and I couldn't get it too cool so I had to stand to the side and just get under the was to get the soap and shampoo off, however, then suddenly the water got very cold so obviously there was something wrong with the valve or faucet not sure. We also noticed that the bathroom toilet was not cleaned properly at that point we had already checked in and been in the room and we were only going to be spending a few hours there so we didn't wanna make a big fuss about it the nice parts were that there is an ocean view out of the window, and the beds were comfortable. I made a point to stop at the front desk and let them know of our issues and I simply got an "OK thanks for letting me know" I feel like there should've been a little bit more of a reaction or a response being that I am a Bonvoy silver member. I would not choose to go back here in the future, even if it is less expensive than some of the casinos, I gave them the opportunity to make it right prior to leaving the building, but they didn't take the opportunity to make it right. Have been staying here for quite some years now and have very few complaints. Staff has always been attentive and personable, it's super conveniently located to the things I do in town without having to stay at the casino hotels that smell of cigarettes and are always crowded and too much going on to have a comfortable stay. The place has parking on premises, my only take is that guest should not be charged for it or more so, your Marriott Elite guests that spend so many nights at your hotels. The rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. I've ranged from 2 queen beds to King suites and they all are bright, spacious and modern with upgraded upholstery. Not a bad place to stay overlooking the sea when you get lucky to have one of the rooms facing the boardwalk. read more

Stayed here for a work trip. Don't stay here if you value your vehicles and the things in them. They DO NOT HAVE CAMERAS COVERING THEIR PARKING LOT. What kind of company doesn't provide coverage of their paying customers belongings in a high crime area. Had over $3000 worth of things stolen from my truck and the Marriot had nothing to do with it, no help. Just a "sorry, no cameras." I do a lot of work trips to the area and I will never be staying here again. Neither with my co-workers after they heard about this. Plus side is the Atlantic City Police Dept was as helpful as could be in this situation and reacted quickly when called. So there's that. read more

I booked our room through AirBnB - a better price than anywhere else! Our room was beautiful and the beds were super cozy! Nice hot shower and good water pressure too. As another reviewer on AirBnB wrote, just being your own creamer! Just powdered packets. Friendly front desk staff to boot. Fast and easy check in and out. $20 overnight parking in their private lot. This hotel is located in a city. So for people that are looking for a quiet suburban feel ; this is not the place for you. However, it was the place for me. It's literally 1 block from the boardwalk/ beach. The hotel room matched the pics from Airbnb. My 2 issues were :the room was right next door to the fire exit and you couldn't control the thermostat temperature. It wouldn't let me set it past 74 degrees . Yet, the room temperature always stated it was 74°. I was cold at nite. The hot water was ok but not as hot as at the Hyatt. There is a $50 a day hold on your card even if you book thru Airbnb, but they will take it off. there will be a hold on the parking fee but they will take that off as well. parking is currently $20 a day and the lot is behind the hotel down a narrow alley . the staff was !!! All in all this is probably one of the best deal you're going to find that close to the beach that's decent. so I would stay again and book thru Airbnb again to get the best rate. read more

Disappointing Stay - Poor Service and Quality Issues This was by far one of the worst experiences I've had at a Marriott. From start to finish, the stay was disappointing in both service and quality. Service: Check-in was lackluster. The front desk staff handed us our keys with no explanation about our stay. This was a problem because we had prepaid for a package that included breakfast and parking. Later, when we asked another front desk agent, they couldn't find any record of our breakfast package. Thankfully, they eventually corrected it--but it should never have been missed to begin with. For a Marriott property to not include breakfast is already odd, and to fumble a prepaid package makes it worse. Room Quality: The room was clean but felt like a basic 3-star hotel. Things went downhill when I tried to take a shower and discovered there was no hot water--at 10pm. I had to pack everything up and move rooms. The new room smelled strongly of chemicals, as if trying to mask cigarette smoke. We requested yet another room, which thankfully had no odor and had hot water, but the air conditioning didn't work. Completely unacceptable. Frustrated, I asked to go back to the first room. The next morning, there was still no hot water. Unbelievable. Additional Amenities: I needed to do laundry and asked if they sold detergent--none in stock. I then asked to break a $5 bill for quarters, but they informed me they were a cashless operation. When I asked what other guests were expected to do, I was told to go to a corner store--at night, in a not-so-safe neighborhood. Completely unhelpful. Breakfast: Breakfast was cook-to-order, not buffet. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which was covered by the voucher--but it was a letdown. There was barely any bacon, the potatoes were cold, and I had to ask them to reheat it. Definitely not worth it. Overall: If this is what Marriott is offering now, I'll steer clear going forward. This felt more like a glorified motel than a reputable hotel chain. The night manager did try to accommodate us and eventually comped part of our stay, which I appreciated. But unfortunately, that's the only bright spot in an otherwise terrible experience. read more

No communication or signage to warn people the route around the mess. Poor snow and ice removal. Hotel lobby never go above 30 to 40 degrees. Just a very bad experience. While visiting AC for a conference I stayed here. I arrived on a Sunday around 10AM and they told me they were packed from the night before... so much for early check-in! So, I wasted time driving the main streets in AC and then walking the boardwalk - That was quite the show... Interesting people there! Seems that during my few nights staying here, I saw many of those people staying here too... plenty of people smoking weed and smelling up the lobby and elevators. Fortunately, the room was clean, housekeeping did a nice job. The room was decent, but needing to be refurbished. The bathroom was clean. The elevators were horribly slow, especially during peak times. The staff at the desk was friendly as well. Valet were friendly, just incredibly slow, inefficient, and always backed up during the peak times, even though there were more valet personnel here than I've ever seen anywhere before. Speaking of valet, I wasn't too happy to get in my car one morning to see the seat was completely declined, the radio on a station I didn't listen to and other things adjusted... Made me wonder if they took it out for a joy ride the night before. The area is pretty sketch... I have friends who lived in the area who advised me not to walk around at night, and I can see why. I think next time I'm in the area for work (because there's no other reason to visit this city), I'll stay at the Sheraton at the Convention Center. read more

Close to the beach, clean, nice staff, we would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff was very friendly at the main desk and behind the food- coffee Counter. Very sweet man and women we met both days getting our breakfast or talking with. Be aware of your immediate surroundings. Area outside of the hotel is not the safest. But you can walk to the boardwalk and you can walk to the Hard rock. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was ok. The hotel does not have a pool. The workout room is not great. Service was friendly. You need a room key to get in and out of the hotel itself and the parking lot is fenced in. I would stay again if in the area but it wouldn't be a destination for a long trip. read more

My stay was absolutely horrible. I booked for 3 days and had to have my room changed twice due to infestation of bed bugs or bugs of some sort biting me and my boyfriend about our body . Worse than that, the front desk staff lied and said that the hot water only broke today, but a check of yelp revealed that there has been no hot water for days or weeks! We stayed at this property for a basketball tournament at the convention center. This was the worst stay we have experienced at a Marriott. There was no hot water over the course of our 3-night stay, no ice, halls were not air-conditioned and our tv didn't work. The staff was not able to resolve any of our concerns. My check in was super easy and the gentleman up front was so helpful and nice in explaining where and how to park. ! My hubby and I decided to stay here to enjoy a complimentary night since we are Marriott bonvoy members. But this place is so damn run down. The town surrounding it too! I was dissatisfied with the looks of Atlantic City, we didn't even bother with the board walk. It all seemed Sketchy AF, and I am from the hood, so game recognize game. I didn't see a point in putting my husband I in a situation we didn't need to be in. Our room was a double, yes so my husband and I shared a double yes my grown ass husband I shared a double bed. The room was fine, aside from the slow draining sink and constantly running toilet. My husband said he will never be back, like ever. Which means I will never be back. read more

I will lead by saying that the housekeeping staff was pleasant and kept our room clean during our short stay, but otherwise our stay was a nightmare and we most definitely will not be staying here again. As a Marriott Rewards member for 7 years, this hotel is not hitting the mark with Marriott's usual standards. I utilized two "rewards" nights to book this stay for what I thought would be a nice weekend away. Instead it was a huge waste of the nights I earned! The parking situation is terrible, especially for $15 a night. The lot was full, they instruct you to park along the fence if no spots are available, and their "overflow lot" is a public lot for the restaurant across the street. Our room on the 5th floor had no air conditioning and fluctuated between a muggy 84-86 degrees the entire weekend. For a greater portion of our stay it was hotter in the room than it even was outside. I imagine the whole 5th floor was this way as the hall was also hot and the 17th floor was colder. Multiple people from our floor were leaving to go stay at one of the casinos. When we brought the air issue in our room to the front desks attention it seemed like they already knew, instantly apologizing robotically and said they would refund our $30 in parking for the inconvenience and we're sending maintenance to come look at it. Maintenance never showed and they still charged me for the parking. Two sweaty sleepless nights. Couldn't find ice on multiple floors. I went to 5 different floors when finally a woman from housekeeping brought me up to the 17th floor which miraculously had ice. For being fully booked for the weekend and going into busy season, you would think they would spend the money to keep the place up, but it definitely isn't happening. I've stayed at the Wyndham right next door before, and it was an amazing stay. I would suggest doing that instead! Although I've only spent one night here and I have three more, I'm starting my review now and I do not see it improving by the time I check out. (However, if I'm wrong, I'll update this review!) Problems in the first 12 hours: 1. No air conditioning in the hallways or elevator area (10th floor). It's in the 90's here. 2. Returning from dinner, we couldn't get into our room. The key cards did not work. Went down to the front desk, got new keys-they did not work. (While down there, another guest came down complaining about the key issue and lack of air conditioning in the hallways, too.) Obviously, a computer problem. A security guard had to come to our door to let us in. 3. Went down in the morning at 10:45am the next day to get new keys. I went to get coffee from the stand alone coffee pump machines. No coffee in either one. I informed the workers behind the kitchen counter and they said there was coffee in them. I pumped both machines to show them they were empty. One gentleman brought another coffee thermos pump and said "We've been here since 5am and want to go home. The kitchen closed at 10:30.) I apologized and thanked them for bringing over a new thermos. One positive note, we asked the housekeeper on the 10th floor if she had any coffee filters for the room for tomorrow. She said she only had decaf. I thanked here and said I would get some later. 10 minutes later, she knocked on the door and brought additional coffee blends. There are plenty of fancy hotels in Atlantic City, but if you are looking for a low-key and no-frill place to sleep, the Courtyard is a solid place. The hotel is a block away from the Boardwalk and a few blocks away from Tanger Outlets and the convention center. Sometimes, it is nice to have a tad bit of space from all of the hustle and bustle. The hotel is not the newest and flashiest, but it works. My sister and I stayed for a night in a room with two double beds. It was ample space. The room was clean. Our beds were comfortable. We slept well. The amenities are more or less like that of a typical Courtyard. The rooms come with a microwave and a mini fridge. Internet is free. There is no pool, but there is a fitness center. The Bistro is open for breakfast daily, but there are plenty of dining options in the area. There is a little convenience store in the lobby. Onsite parking is available for a nightly fee. The front desk staff is friendly and very welcoming. When I checked in, I got an extra elite gift of some water bottles, snacks, and a fortune cookie with a random prize. I won breakfast for two as my prize. The goodie bag at check-in was a nice surprise, and winning a prize was fun. I felt appreciated for being an elite member. Overall, Courtyard Atlantic City Beach Block is a decent place to stay. It is not the nicest hotel, but that is also why it is not the most expensive hotel either. We got a good value for what we paid. We had no complaints. read more

This is a nice and classy stay located in the prime area of the Atlantic City. This is a high rise building which let us enjoy a good view from the 12th floor. It is walkable to the broadwalk and a few casinos like Hardrock, resorts, Caesar's and othe points on the strip. Added bonus, if you're a Marriott bonvoy member from a price perspective which allows you to book a great room for around 100$. I think it's good value for money for what the area offers. read more

Stayed here for two nights because the weather was suppose to be good and it was inexpensively priced , during the week. Saturday night they were at 100% capacity. It's classified as a category 5 hotel on Merriott website, but it's from from it. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The common areas were worn and tired. The fitness center had two machines broken and they were wrapped in yellow tape. . Also, the hotel was not up to the cleaning standards for Merriott. The best part of the stay was the price , parking and location. It was walking distance to good Restaurant's , the boardwalk and shops. read more

I woke up this morning with bedbug bites all over my torso. To avoid causing a scene in the lobby, I called down and requested that a member of management come to my room. I was told this was not possible and that I needed to come downstairs. After explaining my situation and being placed on hold for some time, I was informed that the manager would come up once he was done in the bistro. About twenty minutes later, he finally arrived. The manager immediately dismissed my concerns, insisting that he was highly trained to look for bedbugs. Despite my own experience in identifying bedbugs, he continued to talk over me about his expertise. When he did not find an infestation, his skepticism increased. I showed him my bites, which are in a zigzag pattern across my stomach, side, and back. He claimed that the bites were too large to be from bedbugs. I was astonished by his response. Apparently, he is also an expert in bite marks as well? He then attempted to attribute my bites to a laundry allergy, mentioning his own allergies, and instructed me to leave my name and number at the lobby so he could call me after pest control confirmed there were not bedbugs. I requested garbage bags for my belongings, as I was now terrified of bringing bedbugs home. After the manager left, we waited another ten minutes before a rude housekeeping staff member nearly threw the bags at me without a word, despite my polite greeting and thanks. A visit to my physician today confirmed that these bites are indeed from bedbugs. I am disgusted by the treatment I received from the staff. Additionally, the diverter in the bathroom was broken, causing most of the water to come out of the faucet and very little to the shower itself. read more

This hotel is still under refurbishment but besides that it didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. It had everything that I needed and it was within walking distance to all the locations that someone visiting Atlantic City would want to hit simple, easy to the point with parking more expensive than I like to pay but less expensive than the surrounding area and a helpful front desk staff. read more

I have stayed at a lot of Courtyards and usually have a consistently pleasant experience. This was by far the worst Courtyard experience I have had. I give it 2 stars because of the closeness to the ocean and the view (from high floors), as well as the pleasant front desk attendant. However, everything else was bad. The bed was lumpy, and the bed sheet was stained. The people in the rooms around me were smoking marijuana. The Bistro was closed so there were no good food options. While I understand not wanting people hanging around due to the pandemic, why can't they do grab & go or even room service temporarily?! The place frankly made us so uncomfortable we didn't even stay the night, we simply left within 2 hours of checking in. Frankly, this Courtyard could be so much more. This suggests to me it is a management issue. With a manager who cares immensely about customer experience, this can actually be a nice Courtyard comparable to others within its brand. read more

The room had used condoms when we arrived. My grandson threw up on the bed (linen) on Thurs evening. I reported it to the front desk twice, still the linen was never changed before we checked out on Saturday. I was charged a $150 deposit when I checked in. I was never given a receipt, which I was told would be emailed to me. I never got my 'deposit ' back and Noone can explain when or if I will. read more

This review is based on my stay on 8/15/23. I checked in w/Natasha. She was extremely friendly, helpful & patient. When I asked her if I have the choice between a welcome gift or 500 member points, she advised me that's only an offer for platinum members-I then realized that only my Amex is platinum. Ron-her colleague, then stepped in, saw my member status, & offered me an upgrade to both of my rooms - this is a member perk that I receive only 10% of the time during my stays at any Marriott. So I was thrilled! My 1 night stay was great. However, like clockwork, there was a knock at the door at 9:30am in the morning the day of my check out - some unidentified man - no badge, knocked then attempted to open my latched door. He said he was there to look at the bathroom, then walked away. Around 10 AM I visited the front desk to ask for a pair of scissors, the agent would not let me take the scissors away from the front desk, because he said people steal them. I found this to be quite absurd. What he should have done is asked for my ID and held it if he felt that scissors were going to be stolen. He told me to bring whatever I need it for to the lobby. It was for personal undergarments, I found this to be quite distasteful on his part. Unfortunately, I did not get his name. I ran into Jen in housekeeping on my floor, I asked her for scissors which she had none, but she did go to the front desk to get the pair for me. The rep told her also that she could take the scissors, but she must sit there and watch me, Jen waited outside of my door for me as I used the scissors. I found this to be extremely odd, embarrassing, and untrustworthy. But that was not her fault, that was her instruction. I checked out about 11:30a. I tried to use my card key in the bathroom lobby and it didn't work. I went to the front desk. The same staff member told me the cardkey didn't work because my checkout time was 11 AM. I told him with my status I'm able to check out at 1 PM. I then asked if I could leave my car in the lot until 6 PM, he said no, 5 PM. I let him know that every time I stay at any Marriott, I am disturbed via a phone call or knock on the door on the morning of my check out, regardless of the time. I find this practice to be tacky. After all was said, and done, my stay was amazing based on the two representatives at check in, and Jen from housekeeping. But I will let corporate know about this intentional nuisance at checkout. read more

If I can give negative stars I would. Let me start with the fact that only one elevator was working the wait for the elevators was very long and then crowded. Then the AC would not work and no sign explaining how to use thermostat, so we called, and they helped us finally. Now to top it off the staff at this hotel does not care about your safety or privacy. They allowed a person to call our room just by asking for the last name and saying they were looking for their brother. Once we answered the call if a crazed fan, we immediately called the front desk and asked why they would transfer anyone to our room. They said the reservation did not state otherwise. Why would I ever have to state this? We asked for a refund and said our safety was compromised and we were checking out at 2 am . When we then proceeded to the lobby for the refund we noticed a female sitting on the lobby. After a few minutes we realized it was the same stalker and advised them to call the police. The manger Andrew did not do anything but pass blame and excuses, He stated she should not have been in lobby at that hour unless she was staying there ! She was not a hitel guest at all. He said we should have told the hotel not to confirm we are there. These rules are not ok. This hotel is a franchise and make up their own rules beware. read more

I have stayed at this hotel for years when in town for conferences or business as it used to be much nicer than the tired casino rooms. I hadn't been here since September 2019 and Covid sure wasn't good to this hotel. I'm a Titanium Elite with Marriott and have stayed thousands of nights with Marriott over the years. I have never stayed in a scarier/dirtier hotel run by Marriott. The shower is completely disgusting with past guests' hair, black mold etc. The carpeting needs to be replaced and every surface just felt dirty. When I came and went daily from the back lot as that's the only parking available now- people were smoking weed and the lot reeked. There was an argument around a "business transaction" that was a bit heated, but I never saw any security. read more
