We had previously worked with someone else who always overquoted us, and required negotiation to get to the fair pricing, so I was looking for a new vendor for this job. I took a chance trying Budget Blinds from finding them on Yelp, and I'm so thankful! It took a while to get the appointment because Gabriella told me they were "single-handedly rebuilding Altadena after the fires" and I can see why. She is the owner, and she personally came to our house for the initial consultation. From the moment she started, she put me at ease. She is professional, detailed, and wants to provide the best recommendation. I didn't know anything about blinds/curtains, but she took her time to explain everything to me. I went into the appointment thinking I needed to swap our existing curtains for blackout curtains, but she told me blackout shades would work since we already had curtains. This indicated to me that she was honest rather than trying to upsell the more expensive product. She also provided helpful recommendations on the color and type of shade that matched the existing shades in the room. In another room we had, we weren't sure if the shades would work, but she provided an excellent solution for the placement that turned out perfectly! Her pricing was great, and the blinds came in earlier than expected. The installation was quick and easy. Her installers Enrique and Juan were quick to respond to scheduling an appointment and finished the job in only 20 minutes after arriving. I will definitely be coming back if we need this service again!

Overall, I think Budget Blinds offers a good-quality product, and I've continued to return for that reason. I've now worked with Megan, the owner of Budget Blinds of South Pasadena, twice. While the product itself has been good, my experience with the customer service has been more mixed. I personally did not find Megan to be particularly warm or consistently responsive, and communication at times felt more limited than I would have preferred. I do want to recognize Lyn in the office, who has been much more responsive and helpful whenever I've reached out. I've really appreciated her follow-through and communication. Based on my experience, I would continue to consider Budget Blinds for the product itself, but if warmth, responsiveness, and a strong sense of customer connection are important to you, I would also consider speaking with another Budget Blinds location or provider.

Excellent service and a great experience!…read more Rick from Rick's Custom Shutters and Blinds helped me fix four blinds at my home in Irvine, and I couldn't be happier with the work. Rick arrived right on time, quickly identified the issues, and completed all four repairs in about 30 minutes. The workmanship was excellent, the price was very reasonable, and there was no pressure to replace anything unnecessarily. It's hard to find someone who is quick, professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. I'm very glad I found Rick and would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs shutter or blind repair. We first worked with Rick 6+ years ago when we moved into our home. He installed shutters in our bedrooms and office, and they've held up beautifully. I remembered how professional and on top of everything he was, so I reached out again when we needed blinds for our bedroom. Jeremy and Parker came out for measurements and made the whole process incredibly easy. They walked us through options, gave thoughtful suggestions, and provided an estimate. All in about 10-15 minutes. About two weeks later, they returned for installation and were done in under 5 minutes. Everything was seamless. The best part is how it turned out. It's exactly what we envisioned, if not better. We now have automated blinds in our bay window that give us privacy while still letting in light, and they look so clean in person. They even upgraded us to a system without a visible battery pack, which made a big difference aesthetically. Truly some of the best in the industry. Friendly, efficient, and trustworthy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you, Parker and Jeremy!

CEMAC deserves ALL the stars and positive reviews, they really came through for me with a recent…read moreLuminette shade repair when they weren't even the original installer!! I've been a loyal Hunter Douglas fan/customer for decades now and have had an overwhelmingly positive experience, but experienced a motor failure with one of my Luminette window treatments back in 8/2025. I contacted the HD retailer that I purchased the treatments from but learned that (1) it was out of warranty and (2) the Gen 1 motor/parts were discontinued as there was a "new generation" that was introduced in 2019. Supposedly, the only option was to order a new motor + track at $$ cost and attempt to reuse the existing fabric vanes. Based on that recommendation I placed the order for a new motor + track only to be told that due to a "parts shortage" the new motor + track would likely not be available until late 10/2025. This seemed suspect to me, so I reached out to CEMAC for a second opinion and connected with Gwen who informed me that she wasn't aware of any delays with orders and more importantly warned me that a new Gen 2 motor + track would NOT be compatible with my existing fabric vanes. Turns out that some Hunter Douglas rep may have provided inconsistent or incorrect information to my original dealer, but I obviously decided to cancel the replacement motor + track order immediately. I was then informed that my only option is a order a brand new system (motor + track + vanes) at a $$$$$ cost, which didn't make sense as it would end up looking.... exactly the same---such a complete waste of money and a huge disappointment that HD would not offer support for such expensive products. This is where Gwen stepped in to go above and beyond and the save the day. She was able to source a replacement Gen 1 motor directly from Hunter Douglas even when my original installer was unable to. Cost factor aside, it's also the practical and logical approach to attempt repair first as my fabric vanes were in perfect condition and it would be silly to unnecessarily replace. When the replacement motor arrived, we discovered that one of the components on the track was also damaged (likely due to the motor failure). Gwen proposed sending in the track to an authorized HD repair facility to see if it could be repaired, and only ordering a new system as a last resort. I SO appreciated this approach as it would literally save $$$$ (thousands!) if I could avoid having to order a new system. Happy to report that the repair approach worked and they were able to fix the track so that the replacement motor worked!! I had been living a fishbowl life for the past 3 months (every person/car that passed by could see clearly inside my kitchen/living area) but my exhibitionist Life of a Showgirl era is finally over! Endlessly grateful to CEMAC and Gwen in particular and will reach out to them first for any future window treatment (and it turns out flooring as well!) needs--highly recommend!!! ‍
