I am so happy I found this place. My dog damaged the plantation blinds on my back door of the home I was renting. I was so concerned that the damage could not be fixed. However, the Blind Spot came to my rescue. Oscar was the tech who came out to assess the damage and then came back for the installation. They were able to order new louvers to replace the broken ones, and also replace the pins and magnets to put the door shutter back together. It looks so great now, you can't even tell there was any damage. Oscar was a great tech. He is super friendly, and he did a great job overall. UPDATE 2/22/25: I just wanted to adjust my rating of this company based on the fact they reached out and apologized for the lack of communication based on a temporary staff shortage. In the end, they did honor their warranty and came out to give a second look. This time the blinds were deemed, unfixable without looking for a new part and since I had already bought a new one I was glad to have had a back up in place. Even though my overall experience was mixed, I walked away wanting to give this company another chance in the future should the need arise. *Special shout out to Oscar, who is a gem of a human being* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ REALLY disappointed in this company. A blind in our house stopped working. I was going back and forth about whether to just buy a new one but I called these guys and they seemed very nice on the phone. So I ended up hiring them to repair it for $179. The technician that came over was extremely nice and was able to repair the blind. I was very happy with the whole experience at that point. I even emailed them and told them so. 2 weeks later the blind stopped working again. Is it their fault? No, I don't think that. But I called them and asked if their work came with a warranty. They told me yes, it comes with a 90 day warranty and then told me they'd call me back to figure out the next steps. Never heard back. I called again a week later. They didn't pick up my call. I left a message. Never heard back. I emailed them. Giving them every opportunity to correct their complete lack of communication. Didn't hear back. There is nothing more disrespectful to me than GHOSTING a customer. I'd rather they just told me, sorry you're out of luck. I would have understood that. Not even that. Anyway, I went to go buy a new blind yesterday. What's done is done. Lesson learned. Went from having this company in my "Rolodex" and referring them to friends, to never wanting to deal with them again. Our family is happy with the end result. What differentiated this company from their competition was that Richard was able to provide superior guidance on color, texture, and valance selection based on his extensive experience with interior design. With his guidance, we now have shades that look much more interesting than the generic textures and off-white shades that their competition was suggesting. If you're like me and you don't know the first thing about interior design, I would especially recommend you give The Blind Spot a call. The prices they offered were reasonable as well, and they offer a 3 month unconditional warranty on their work on top of the manufacturer's warranty. Our wood blinds are 20 years old and still in great shape except for one who's cord got frayed and became inoperable. We called these guys and they came within a few days. Of course it was not cheap - $179 for the 1st blind and $65 for any additional blinds. They checked and we were good with one bind repair. The two workers were neat and tidy. I spoke with Michael regarding replacing some broken clips on mini blinds. He said he could but explained why that would cost more and a new blind would cost less. I appreciated the explanation and scheduled a new blind installation. Oscar arrived and looked at the window that needed the blind noting it was much smaller than the rod he brought. People keep mentioning booties - I never saw him put any on. I had told Michael window was 70' wide but Oscar said the tract he brought was for a 94+" window. Instead of taking one hour - it would take several hours to cut it down to size. I said no as I knew it would cost more due to time involved I expected Michael to call and apologize for the size miscommunication and try to reschedule with the correct size blind. That never happened. I can't speak to their work but am definitely not impressed in how they handled this situation. BTW Oscar looked frustrated but was very nice through the total of our interaction which I appreciated. read more

Originally I called to have several difficult blinds re-strung. While they were there I inquired about several torn Hunter Douglass honeycomb shades because I heard they had a lifetime warranty. The original job was done professionally and quickly. The replacement of the Hunter Douglass blinds was right after all the Covid stuff began. Many companies would probably have waved me off since essentially everyone seems to have had limited resources during this difficult time. It took many months and several circle backs with the manufacture to get the blinds replaced, but ultimately, Richard - owner of The Blind Spot - stuck with me and today I had 5 brand new replacement blinds installed. The Blind Spot repaired a broken blind in my bedroom for a very reasonable price, when all the other places I inquired said that I needed to replace it with a new one at a much higher price. The first time the service person came out, he determined that a part (clutch) was broken and that he needed to order the part from Hunter Douglas. He did not charge for the visit. I did have to wait several weeks until I heard back from them that they got the part, but they did call me once to tell me that they were still waiting for the part. When the part arrived, they called me and set up an appointment for another visit. Lucas came and fixed the blind and it is working great. He was very professional throughout and took a look at another blind that had a minor issue and fixed that one at no extra cost. I made an appointment for a blind repair/installation consultation thru home advisor. The blind spot called to confirm which I was happy about. the appointment was scheduled for 9:00am... At 9:30 I called since no one had shown up or called. Apparently the person got held up at a previous appointment ( even though they told me I was going to be the first appointment) I thought about rescheduling,but was irritated about how people just no call no show these days. I'll find someone who wants my business. Richard called wanting to make up for my bad experience. He has been very nice and helpful and is going to be installing roller shades for Me. Phenomenal I made an appointment thru Home Advisor for Thursday. Richard called on Wednesday to verify our appointment and stated that he was in my area and wanted to know if I was available .I was so happy for the earlier appointment. He was on time for our scheduled appointment and fixed my roman shades to my expectations. He was neat and efficient. His prices are also reasonable.
