They proceeded to say the boat ramp was closed. On a Tuesday? When the races aren't until Friday. What? Plus, THE BOAT RAMP IS OWNED BY THE CITY!!!. They had nothing blocking the ramp or any signage saying it was closed, which it's theirs anyways. The same thing happened to another guy shorty after I started fishing the docs. I had my dog with off the leash and of course here comes Karen saying to put a leash on my dog when we were in a fenced part. She proceeded to ask me if I was fishing the docs when I clearly had a pole in my hand and I simply replied "yea". She proceeded to tell me she owned the marina and docs. I proceeded to say "ok" then turned my head back to my pole slightly shaking my head a giggling. She proceeded to say "if you want to continue to get shitty I'll have you kicked out." There are no signs ANYWHERE that say the docks are private property or no fishing or to keep pets on a leash. This is outside the rv park so those rules may be different inside. Maybe spend some money and put up signage saying it's private property so people know. They definitely need to worry less about me and fix every dock. Some wobble terribly so you can easily fall in the lake, some have boards sticking up that people could trip over. One is completely missing a board so a child could easily step through and break their leg. I planned on buying minnows and beer and go launch at a different ramp and spend more money there during the boat races. However, I'll never spend another dime at that place. GOOOD JOB KAREN!!!!

Very dry, oftentimes rude, they view you more as a transaction than a human being. No common courtesies such as please, thank you, etc, and that goes for any of them who happens to be staffing the desk. If you need anything from the store, better to exit the park and head to the Stripes. At least you'll have a bigger variety and not some rude person grunting at you.

The cabin gives you all the space and amenities of home and is perfect for a couples' getaway or for the entire family. The bunk house brings a fun, outdoorsy vibe that is perfect for hunting trips or just hanging out with a large group. And the newest addition, the Cactus Hotel, can be a mixture of both! You have the option of renting one room at a time or the whole thing, depending on how large of a group you have. Each has its own bathroom and access to the common living area (which is super cozy and great for just hanging out- we escaped a rainstorm in here our first night!) I can't say enough nice things about The Ranch. Leah and Don are the most incredible hosts and will make sure you enjoy your time here, whatever the occasion. I'm already planning my next girls trip! Give this awesome family business a try!

Wildlife such as, deer, hawks, road runners, and quail abound the ranch. I have never seen such a big beautiful star filled night sky! Leah- thank you for an unforgettable experience.

The cabin had everything we needed including river access (Nol has given public access to the river as part of a lease agreement with TPWD). I didn't get to meet her but Mark says she's the best. We had deer, skunks, bunnies, opossum, fox and horses. The bird watching was great. Who else says, "give me a hug" but someone as great as Nol! I can't wait until next year.

Nol has 2 cabins for rent that are a stone's throw from the river (30-second walk). They are attractive, clean, well-furnished and they are both newly built. As someone who likes to kayak Central Texas' rivers I've had the opportunity to stay at numerous different riverfront cabins and I have to admit that Nol's are the best by a long shot. Sadly, I can be overly critical at times but these accommodations were excellent. The bed (queen-size) was plush and comfortable, the AC was frosty cold and her riverbank is private, quiet and beautiful. She even has one of the best swimming holes that I've experienced on the South Llano. The 100-year old pecan trees that line her stretch of the river provided us a comfortable respite from the hot July sun. If you like to fish and run the rapids like I do Nol's property sits on an ideal location on the river to float into or float out of when making kayak trips. Pro Tip #1: When you make your morning cup of coffee go sit down on river's edge upon her rock steps. It's quiet, relaxing and you'll have the whole river to yourself. Pro Tip #2: After your dinner meal go sit out on the porch and watch the wild turkeys, white-tailed deer and axis deer come out to feed. We saw more wild game and birds than you'd see at the zoo.
