Waffle and matcha ice cream. Tastes just as good as it looks!

I love it here. The food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The murals on the walls are so cute! Restaurant service across Thai Town is generally acceptable. I come for the food and don't expect to be wowed by service. Not many shabu places offer the variety or quality of broth that suits my palate like this one does. I've tried four different broths so far and liked them all. Their coconut ice cream and green tea are made in-house -- you can really taste the freshness. My friend is head over heels for their waffle and ice cream. The waffles are served warm, with a texture that's not too hard or too soft -- just the right crunch, balanced with a smattering of sliced strawberries. Presentation is A+, and the portion is generous enough to be a full meal, so don't forget to save room for dessert!

Guys, don't be fooled. It's bad. Really bad. The rating fooled me into coming here. Meat quality is terrible - there are a few premium options, and they are just as bad. The sauces are bad. The soda machine doesn't work. (Soda cans are there for show, they don't actually sell them.) I think they used to have sushi, but I didn't see any on the menu - which makes the name misleading. It's not cheap either, so I don't understand the draw. The only thing I enjoyed was the painting of this cat on the wall. Pros: good place to have hot pot for the first time if you want to start at the absolute bottom of the spectrum and work your way up from there. Cons: everything is bad here. Everything is bad.

Such a fabulous deal! Have been here a few times now and I absolutely love the Thai soup broths... the Spicy Tom Yum broth. And wow- what a deal for both lunch and dinner. The All You Can Eat is fantastic. You also get fountain drinks and dessert! We definitely had to save room for the waffle and got to get two ice creams flavors.

This shabu place is so good and affordable. The veggies are fresh. Good quality meat. And we have tried 4 different broths and loved them all. The staff is super friendly too.

Truly horrible. Shabu Shabu is one of our favorite meals and to go to one that is so wildly awful was disappointing to say the least. The decent meats are all additions that cost 5.00 on top of the menu base rate. The back of house was a disaster, piles of dirty dishes, rotting vegetables and toilet paper stored on top of condiments. Joon in Glendale still reigns supreme. Avoid this place if you can

The meat quality is fine. The self service bar was horrendous. All the vegetables had gone bad. I even saw mold on the raw onions. And the vegetables were not getting stocked and most were more than half empty. We asked for rice and our server told us they had none. Instead they had to cook it from scratch. 40 minutes later, it was never ready for us! Our server was really nice though. By the way, they don't serve sushi anymore, despite how it advertised.

You can split the pot to try two different broths; here is sukiyaki, and the reddish one is spicy Tom Yum broth! Both SO delicious!

OMG! Was this place was a phenomenal last minute find! We all couldn't stop talking about how good the food was! Super fresh, delish and all you can eat for $35 (heck of a deal)! We've never been to such a place, so at first we were a bit lost on how it all worked, but the servers were very helpful, with genuine smiles and kindness; plus, they were very attentive to our needs and requests! I'd recommend that if you're a party of 4+ like we were, to ask to sit in the middle section, as there was lots of space, and each person has their own burner to cook their veggies and meats as they see fit! My daughter and her husband kept talking about how they're definitely going back, making a staple of theirs to go to! Next time my wife and I fly in, we'll be right there with them! Cheers!

we were so excited to try this place after hearing that they offer ayce sushi and shabu but left very disappointed. we ordered from the premium menu and tried almost everything but nothing stood out in a positive way for us to come back.. + extensive menu from rolls, raw meat and lava cake desserts + most of the shabu meats were good + delicious matcha lava cake -everything else besides shabu meat was mediocre -nigiri was all fishy -veggie section is so unsanitary and not kept clean (there were only two rings to pick from the veggie cart and all the veggies were mixed in containers) ~Service: ok service, nothing too special ~Cost: $28/pp for basic or $35/pp for premium ~Parking: limited plaza parking

It's our second time at ShaBuShi and this time we brought more family. They just opened on a weekend morning and not all the broths were available (half star off). Our fave broth tasted like Tom yum soup! The all you can eat Shabu Shabu with sushi was a great deal for the money! There were so many meats, toppings, sauces, etc to choose from. For the entry price point, there's limited sushi selection if you like to order more sushi, choose the higher price point. The waiters checked often to see if we want more meats or if the soup gets too hot. The place is tiny so go during off peak hours. There's parking at the strip mall it's on.

came here right when it opened at 5pm on a sunday because we wanted to beat the rush and we were the first ones in. after a while, it started getting busy so imagine there would be a wait on fri/sat nights. the shabu shabu is definitely the star of the show compared to the sushi. while the meat quality is a bit subpar, you can't beat the variety here when you include the sushi. the shabu shabu $35 option also gives you seafood which would cost $35 alone at non-ayce places. the sushi is overall pretty mid - we ordered a few pieces and decided to stop ordering sushi since it wasn't worth filling our stomachs with. some other things i did like were the chawanmushi (steamed egg) and crispy tuna rice. the sauces were also delicious and i love how they provide a bunch of minced garlic. my absolute favorite thing here was the brownie and vanilla ice cream you get to choose at the end. i was so full but devoured the whole thing.

If price is important to you then this is one of the most affordable AYCE shabu places to my knowledge. Quality of meat is okay; soups tasted like artificial flavors. Vegetable selections were good; spices/sauces were just okay. Small place and not so clean. Only one server was working when we were there on a Saturday lunch. She worked her best but it seems she was a bit overwhelmed. Again, great value, but you get what you pay for.

The sea urchins one is creamy and VERY RICH. The cream sauce bend in really well with the sea urchins. But definitely not something you would order if you are on a weaker stomach. The duck udon is flavorful with plenty of meat. The soup pair perfectly with the udon as well. There was a line outside before it opened. But not too bad. Udon noodles were good, but it was not excellent. It did have light chewy texture. BUT in comparison to Meiji Seimen, it fell short, really short! I was disappointed. BEEF BOWL It was delicious! Beef was tender and moist and loved the caramelized onion too. Rice was delicious too, not dry nor mushy. Served with pickled red ginger. A very satisfying bowl. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Please write your name down ASAP, as that will help in making sure that you will grab a seat. Also, the lines are disorganized too, so it's best to write down your name, so no one cuts in front of you. It is a small restaurant. Limited seats. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. Also, parking sucks.

The vibe is awesome inside; there's lofi playing at a nice level and the lighting is beautiful. It feels like an elevated experience right when you walk in. We didn't wait long as it was a Sunday afternoon, and our waitress was so helpful in deciding what to order (the menu is extensive!). We got the baked scallop roll, the crunch spider roll, and the Baja California roll. All three were amazing!!!! We also got spicy tuna crispy rice and the gyoza to start. I am not joking when I say they were the best restaurant gyoza I've had in Los Angeles. Juicy, warm, nice golden crisp on the bottom, and flavorful filling. The baked scallop roll was my personal favorite of the three; it was warm and savory, with an excellent bite from the juicy scallops. It was a great contrast to the Baja roll, which is cold and has crunchy elements to it. And the spider roll was one I didn't expect to like (my boyfriend wanted it), but ended up being my second favorite! The soft shell crab flavor is deliciously salty and pairs great with the surrounding flavors. I'll definitely be back for more!

I've been eyeing n/naka for 4 years and each year we would try to snatch up a reservation but they would disappear within minutes and when we finally were so lucky to get a reservation (I literally cheered) I could absolutely see why eating at this establishment is highly desired. There was parking down the street toward the neighborhood and upon showing up at the front doors there was a line of people waiting for their time slot, we were checked in one by one and seated. This restaurant is pretty small but it has a great calming ambience and feels intimate. The staff is very attentive and friendly and I loved learning about n/naka's history since we came during their anniversary and got to taste some of their creations throughout the years. We loved that with each dish there was a meaning behind each one, and honestly most course meal places we've been to are very similar but n/naka's courses were unique and we tasted a good amount of items that were very new to us. It's so hard to describe each dish that we had, because we were so pleasantly surprised by their unique flavors and techniques. Plating of the food was so pleasing to the eye and done with meticulous care. All the food was cooked perfectly and even the simplest dishes such as clam soup warmed the heart. Some standouts I noted was the fish dish on if I remember correctly a bed of Kambu (seaweed) and these home grown peas, supremely the best peas I've ever had in my life. The ice cream/sorbet with the side crumble was so so good. The opening dish (the one with the flower cracker laid on top) and the carrot cake looking item was very unique and tasty. I also was very impressed by their I believe it was some sort of freeze dried soy sauce if I can remember, that was so unique to the palate. This may sound silly, but my partner and I were absolutely amazed by the palate cleanser halfway through the meal, we have had many palate cleansers at fine dining restaurants, but none like this one. Generally palate cleansers are tart and I would say help reset the palate at 50-60%. But this tapioca and fruit palate cleanser was the best we've ever had. It was light, crisp, refreshing and it literally eliminated the taste of everything we had previously eaten at a 100% efficacy rate. I've never felt my mouth feel that clean and pure--it was astounding. We both were truly in awe. The staff were really so polite and attentive. At the end of the meal we saw Chef Niki walking around to the tables and felt so special when she dropped by. Our conversation was short but wow, you can tell Chef Niki is a very genuine and humble person. She makes you feel so comfortable in conversation and with her extraordinary gesture, she just makes you feel so special and appreciated. It was hard to explain this experience because the euphoria just lasted for days, weeks, if not months. We told all our friends about n/naka and I hope they'll one day be able to have that experience as well. We thank Chef Niki and her team so much for making our 4th anniversary the best one! And hopes she can take breaks when she can, she deserves it and more!

I loved the Zensai which presented 7 small palate warming appetizer bites. Comes in a cute bento box like format. The creamy potato puree and tempura bites were my favorites. For the main course, I absolutely loved the Uni and Dungeness crab....so exceptional. Served in an actual Uni shell and filled with warm Dungeness crab meat and broth, egg white soufflé, and topped with a whole Uni. This should be their top dish. Another phenomenal course was the Rockfish. The fish complimented very well with the snap peas and kelp which brought out the flavor of the rockfish. Perfect!!! Shiizakana is their signature dish which made its debut on chef's table and served year round. An abalone truffle pasta. This was good but for me personally wasn't a highlight. Overall a good experience. At dinners end, chef Niki Nakayama came out personally to share our experiences. We got to meet the artist that curated this amazing dinner. Thank you Chef! We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

The restaurant offers outdoor seating overlooking the lovely green turf and provides tall heaters for cooler evenings. My husband made lunch reservations here and told me it was just a quick 10-15 minute walk from our hotel, The Ritz-Carlton. We crossed a few intersections to get there, and it was well worth the walk. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming host. The ambiance is light and airy, featuring high ceilings, light-colored walls, and light wood furnishings. The overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and very inviting.
