Parker Kara, MD - Dr. Kara Parker

Dr. Parker is the best! She is the first doc to actually do saliva tests with me, not just blood…read moretests. She discovered that I have adrenal fatigue and gluten intolerance. It is such a relief to finally know what is wrong, and to find a doctor that LISTENS to me, instead of immediately trying to address symptoms with a pill. She is thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and totally conscious of the patient's best interests. Better treatment than I got at Mayo, even. She actually recommended a book to me- how refreshing is that? Instead of a prescription, she directs me to a resource so that I am a better-educated patient. I actually feel kind of bad for gushing about her, because I don't think she is taking new patients... But if that changes, and you are looking for a great endo, this is the doctor to get!

I sought out Kara Parker when I first moved to Mpls because I wanted a Dr who had a deeper…read moreunderstanding of both holistic and allopathic healing and my initial visits with her were pretty great. I was exploring a hormonal imbalance and she helped me get on a bioidentical progesterone which was exceedingly helpful. I wasn't however expecting to be blindsided by the visit to follow. Having gotten out of a recent break-up I saw Dr. Parker to explore getting pregnant on my own--possibly more hormone treatments, thyroid tests, anything that would help my fertility as a late 30-something woman. The first words out of her mouth were 'Well... I have two children and I could not have done it without the love and support of my partner.' She proceeded to ask me the following questions: -- Was I financially secure enough to raise a kid? (39 with a very successful business) -- Why not consider adoption? (Always a consideration of mine but expensive and I want to try natural conception while I'm still young) -- Why not consider dating someone with a kid? (Already a stepmom from my previous relationship) She asked me how I planned on getting pregnant and how I planned to give birth. I told her I pondered home birth and she proceeded to tell me a home birth nightmare story. All in all it was an incredibly shaming and negative experience. Absolutely nothing positive or empowering was uttered from her mouth and being a woman doctor--who supposedly embraces an alternative lifestyle--I expected a lot more out of her. I was definitely emotional in our visit but I don't think that was justification for her to be so judgmental. I sought out a holistic doctor to have a more positive experience not to be treated like I'm incapable and out of touch with my own aspirations as a human. It's taken me some time to have the courage to write this review but I think it's important. I wouldn't want someone else to have the same experience. I won't be going back to her, nor would I recommend her as a doctor.

This little clinic is the best kept secret in the metro for primary care!!!!! My family has…read morereceived nothing but phenomenal, compassionate, and deeply excellent medical care here - we've had wonderful experiences with Dr. Macdonald, Dr. Golden, and Dr. Nelson - and have switched several friends and family to receive care here. I really feel like the staff (everyone from reception to nurses to the docs) cares deeply for you as a patient and finding the best outcome that you feel comfortable with (not the kind of experience you'd have at a Fairview or a HealthPartners). They are super accessible and have urgent appointments if you need, there is always a doctor on call 24/7, and we've never had an issue getting in. This clinic is how primary care should be!!!

I had been with this clinic for 18 and it was a functiona, small, STABLE, clinic. They are awful…read morenow. They no longer have a billing person in house. They use some sketchy person from somewhere in her basement now. She never returns calls either. They use to have 5 very experienced doctors for the first 15 years I was there. Then Dr Nelson went part time to golf and play footsie with Fairview corporate. ALL the rest of the stable doctors all quit or retired. I was forced to change doctors 3 times the last 2 1/2 years. The facility now has 2 PAs, which isn't a huge thing but you now have 1.5 doctors running 2 PAs. And both PA quit after several months. And the one full time doctor slot changes every 18 months. So you have 1/2 a physician with more than 10 years experience. The nurses rock though and total angels. After 18 years it made it hard for me to switch clinics but I CANNOT bear their incompetence any longer. Avoid this clic and just find another Fairview Clinic because RMG is a Fairview offshoot anyway. AVOID at all costs.

This is, actually, for the Phlebotomist that served me on September 29, 2021. Sadly, I don't…read moreremember her name. She has long dark hair and is very understanding. She greeted me and was quite pleasant. I explained the last time I was there, the gal, who took my blood, left me sore and with bruises up and down my arm. So this lady was very careful with me. We talked about my daughter, who has no problems with needles. But I have had a phobia for years, which I had got past until my visit before this one. This lady apologized when I said, ouch. Then she proceeded to keep me calm. Within seconds, she was done and I was on my way. I am happy to say, I had no bruising. She is a real professional. Now, for Dr. Gonzalez-Campoy. Since that testing, I found that my Free T3 is high, which shows my dosage needs to be raised. I have not heard one word from him or his staff regarding this. Furthermore, I loved him when I started going to him two years ago. He made me feel special and that he cared for me, but the last visit, he was brusque and hardly spent any time with me. He seemed to be upset because I hadn't been in since 2019. With Covid, this didn't seem, to me, like a good idea in 2020. This and our last encounter, over the phone, has me searching for a different Endocrinologist. He refused to treat me, in person, because I won't take the shot and tried to push it on me. I tried explaining that my husband has had horrible arm, hand and wrist pain since two days, after getting the Pfizer, but he still insisted I should get it. When I stuck to my rights, and said, I'm not getting it, he reiterated he would not treat me, in person. Yet, he had me go in for blood work. I find this to be odd as I was in the same building as his office where I had to check in for the blood tests. Since he won't treat me, in person, only over the phone, I find I have no choice but to go somewhere else. This is difficult for me for two reasons. First, due to my insurance, I can't just go to any doctor I want to and they are hard to find. Second, I have been on natural NDT medicine since 2016, which, until recently, has met my needs and I've felt pretty normal. A lot of doctors won't prescribe the NDT for me, although expert professionals have deemed it as effective as Levothyroxine. So the five stars is for their wonderful Phlebotomist, but I give 2 stars to the Endocrinologist at MNCOME. That is because he still ordered my prescription to be refilled.
